Obviously I don't know what has transpired here, but it may be along the lines of Maya sitting him down and telling him that he's made it to the 'league of milk and honey' so what does he want to do with his career? He turned down a permanent move to Tokyo earlier this year when his loan ran out and said he wanted to stay with us and fight for his place. It looks like he's done just that and got his reward. I wish him all the best.

I saw this. As an archaeologist I found it fascinating, seeing a major population centre devolve (note the '8 mile divide' - no rampart, but a road). But as an ordinary bloke I found it very sad.

Coincidentally, I've seen every minute he's played for us, and based on that, I think he could become an absolute diamond for us.
