  1. Neither do I, but the Cook fellow appears to be world number 1, not British number 1, which makes it rather odd that he hasn't been picked.
  2. Well done for catching it. Missed the first two phases yesterday afternoon but observed it until the sun went down, through a scope with solar filter and a few drinks. Not very exciting but got to see a very rare occurrence.
  3. SQuarepusher - Ufabalum - Nice to see him returning to his old days somewhat. His current live gigs (judging by youtube footage) look splendid. Plaid - Scintilli - same old tried and tested Plaid. No bad thing.
  4. Possibly the best 'non-season finale' episode of a show I can remember seeing. Roll on next week.
  5. The Spaniards. Tennis balls. Nuff said.
  6. Always liked Elvis Alive Drive on the way up to the mountains from Las Vegas.
  7. What about Skagen? Classy but maybe a little less traditional.
  8. I'd give it at least another season before possibly losing Nigel. So he goes to a bigger club now and risks failing, he'd have to start all over again. I'm sure he'll be happy here with the challenge he's got next season.
  9. I'll look out for that. Looks as though it will come to the PBS channel, who have screened many UK shows (including Shurlock) already. Hound of the Baskervilles was decent last night, only one left next week. Will catch up with GOT this evening.
  10. I think the top (current) uTube comment for the following vid sums it up pretty well. You'd ****ing **** yourself if you saw this **** in your greenhouse!
  11. Are there any English subtitles available?
  12. Anyone remember watching this grisly film at school in the 80s?
  13. I think that integrating yourself into such a nice area of the country (a specific place you have targeted), will make the transition much smoother. (I'd jump at the chance of a move to the Pacific NW.) Try it for a couple of years and see how you get on. Your feelings will possibly change over the course of several years, one way or the other. The UK might become a fond memory for you as you acclimate to your surroundings and settle down. Alternatively, you may get homesick and yearn for the old days. I've also been around both sets of expats, those that have become fully native and those itching to get back home. I think I fall somewhere in between. I could move back quite happily but I'm not in any hurry. My move here wasn't an escape from the UK and I've kept close to my roots. I do get homesick, although I think it has more to do with the utmost desire to move out of the desert! (I could just as happily relocate to another region of the US too.)
  14. Who designed that piece of poo? Are they related to the creator of Ted Bates statue mk.1?
  15. "diddle didleee-do - Goal at the Dell!" Which way has it gone?
  16. I think he'll like him. Hicks was left wing but was so much more than that. JJ has already stated his like of George Carlin. ("George Carlin was different. He was of a different time, when conservative America really did call the shots, kids were being drafted into the Vietnam War and racial inequality was rife. He picked on the strong, the powerful and the rich. He was gentle and intelligent. And fun.") Ok, Hicks wasn't exactly gentle, but he was a shed load of fun.
  17. Just watched the first episode of series two of Shurlock. This could run and run, it is excellent.
  18. I think that's all we need to know. It's his special baby and he'll do it justice f'sure. The cast looks very decent too - Idris Elba, Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace.
  19. Got the biggest laugh in the cinema. Good film. Prometheus trailer looked great ont eh big screen and I'm happy that Fox just announced it will get it's intended 18/R rating and will not be dumbed down for kids.
  20. I dunno. I'd say you were the bigger bellend getting your knickers in a twist over contemplating it so bitterly really.
  21. Oh yeah...
  22. I'm wanting to watch the Swedish original, but the US version of The Killing is good isn't it. The damp, murky wilderness of the Pacific NW is such a great backdrop for this kind of series.
  23. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy - Needs full attention throughout. Heavy and gritty. Gary Oldman is brilliant.
  24. It is good. Alas, the American version we get is narrated by a 'Baldwin brother' which spoils it a bit. Wish I'd kept with GOT in season 1, am picking it up, 5th episode into second season. Just watched a recent Have I Got (more) News For You download. Hadn't seen it for a while. Good as ever.
