  1. Appreciate that, but sadly he did not convince me that he was anywhere near being at the races yet....
  2. 50 years old - Lived in Fair Oak for 19 years having moved down from Norwich in 1993. Never a NCFC supporter although I did go to Carrow Road a few times in my youth - Rugby was my sport ! A new work colleague had season tickets to The Dell and took me along a few times, where I was converted to SFC by being mesmerised by a certain Mr MLT, and the passionate fans that stood so close to the pitch. First game was fortunate - Swindon home early in the 1993/94 season that we won 5-1 ( A recall a Jeff Kenna screamer that game).. Been a committed Saint ever since.
  3. Sharp looked anything but sharp against Ipswich and seems to be carrying far too much timber around his middle. Tadanari on the other hand is showing pace, energy, awareness and threat with each game he plays. At the moment for me its a no brainer - Lee every time.
  4. Firstly to all those on this thread who have slated Guly - Clearly you were'nt at the game because if you had of been, you would have seen somebody whose touch was better than any on the pitch and was a threat to Ipswich in the first half and nearly scored after a sublime move in the 2nd. Lay off him... Rant Over, A game where we snatched a draw from the jaws of victory. Ipswich were busy and worked very hard to close us down but other than a Chopra effort in the 2nd half offered little threat to our goal until a defensive lapse let in Scotland late on. We huffed and puffed a bit tonight, had plenty of opportunities but were not clinical enough. The team played mediocre tonight and either Fonte, De Ridder or Guly being our highlights alongside Ricky. Mention also to Tadanari's work rate who put in a good shift. Frazer, Jos and especially Harding were quite poor tonight, and by christ Billy Sharp needs to lose some timber around his middle or he will be little use to us. Disappointing, but time to pick ourselves up for Barnsley. Support also mediocre tonight I'm afraid to say - We need to sing louder, more often and more supportive and not just the endless Pompey ****takes...
  5. No, the day of the plane was versus Sheffield Wednesday which we won 3-0 ( Jones bagged a couple).. Ipswich was a few weeks before and we were so pizz poor that day it was embarrassing.
  6. He's very media savvy is Nigel - And I like the way he conducts himself.
  7. Morning Ho! Will you welcome Chinny back as your one and only saviour ?
  8. Sorry if I've missed something in the many intervening pages, but was one of Birch's first commitments to the "pack the park thousands" that he would legally challenge Chinney's debenture? I'm assuming that with Birch chatting to Chinney in such a manner, that Chinny's charge over the club is in fact all legal and above board and Birch has no chance of overturning it ?
  9. Magnificent, Magnificent, Magnificent !!!
  10. That was the character of champions ! Played mediocre but won the game at a tough place to win games.. Well done lads and especially to Super Kelvin!!
  11. For me personally, my closure was when Wilde, Crouch, Lowe and everybody else associated with our dysfunctional boardroom and leadership during the dark times, left the building and Markus and Nicola stepped in and began to build. I'm a generally positive guy so when the "stressor" ie our incompetant board memebrs, were removed then it was clean slate time for me.
  12. I disagree, I prefer Kelvin over Green anyday of the week. Kelvin's a bloody good Pro and a good and loyal servant to the club - is he Prem class, yes of course he is, but I concur that we must now start to consider real competition for him as our number 1 - And sadly that ain't Bart!
  13. They are rightly outraged and who can blame them !! Pennies seem to be dropping the length and breadth of the land now - And even on The Peoples Republic of Portsea!
  14. In fairness to the phew they can't afford a band aid plaster let alone a calf scan, so the treatment room will look more like a knackers yard than a football re-hab centre.... But perhaps just another symptom of 7 years in the prem with no infrastructure !
  15. Has it made Brum stronger - Really !! I would argue not - Heseklepp IMHO is a very average player prone to fits and starts of good form inbetween long periods of mediocrity at best !
  16. Had some good pints in there - Not been for a few years but it sounds as though it has maintained its "good beer guide" feel.. Sorry to hear of the fire, and I hope all can be rebuilt soon.
  17. 1981 I think - Luther Blissett was on fire that evening...
  18. Claridge is an honest man, and I like him for his integrity and the knowledgable manner he reports as he sees it. Great clips of us too
  19. Bloody chuffed to bits with that !! Well done lads and well done Tadanari !!
  20. Happy Birthday Bear !!
  21. Could not agree more ! The big Spanish clubs are toting £50 million + to sign him, and they would not pay so much if he was'nt.
  22. Past caring really - Although I would want them to stay in business until the end of the season at least - Just want the opportunity to tonk them at SMS...
  23. I don't think Fat Sam is certain what his best side is to be honest, and I think they have managed to engender some fear into the opposition by their semi-impressice squad sheet and the fact they are "Wet Spam" ! We must not fear them, let them fear us and I'm sure if we play nour football in the same manner as we did on Saturday we should be fine.
  24. I've just gone blind....
  25. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11700/7501438/Championship-duo-eye-Robbo THoughts on Clogger Robinson? Certainly a wise old head and tough as nails, but will he add value to us? Personally I have my doubts
