  1. As others have said an ugly win, but you need wins like that in this league over a long gruelling season. I thought we were clearly the better team but got dragged down to their level towards the end, however on the whole we defended excellently. We also missed 3 very good chances to make the score more comfortable, whilst I can barely remember Stoke creating anything of note. Andy Hinchcliffe was doing my head in banging on about the Downes challenge, never in 100 years was that a penalty. The Bednarek one though we did get away with. Downes was my MOTM, KWP excellent as usual and bazunu's distribution very good again. Sully a big threat but just needs to improve his end product. Actually thought Stuey had a shocker of a first half aside from his goal. Also think people are being overly harsh on Mara, the miss aside I thought he showed some nice touches.
  2. Some years ago I spent a couple of weeks in Mansfield for work, and it's the same there. Everyone called me duck. As for the game I genuinely have no idea about the result, it could be anything. Would be great to win and build on the positivity but a draw wouldn't be a disaster.
  3. Well the early season optimism has been quickly swept away. Ipswich really were nothing special yet we looked utterly clueless going forward again. Combined with more kamikaze defending the result is no surprise. Sorry to say Smallbone is a complete waste of a shirt, offers absolutely nothing. A Armstrong works hard but is a horrific footballer. Only real positive was KWP who was excellent, and we did look better once Charles moved into midfield. Aribo did ok. But something needs to change or we'll be nowhere near promotion.
  4. Hard to have any confidence in getting a result whilst we're leaking goals at such an alarming rate. Oh what I'd give for a clean sheet.
  5. I'm in Kingsland North and tbf the Chapel sounded louder than the Northam for much of the game. Great noise from the Itchen North as well in the first half. Good effort guys. Unfortunately the Northam seems to be full of idiots who ruin every chant by clapping at 100mph and then get on the players' backs as soon as they misplace a pass.
  6. Still think he's crap but credit where it's due, he was our best player last night. Mostly excellent distribution and he actually made one or two half decent saves, could do nothing about the goals. Keep that up and my opinion of him might change, the one positive from that shit show.
  7. Embarrassing. We won't go up with a defence that includes Bazunu and Holgate.
  8. RM said in the presser the other day that if Che didn't leave, he would definitely be involved. Whether he starts or not is another question. We have real options now.
  9. Really happy with the THB signing, although I can't see any mention on the website of this obligation to buy people are talking about? The only things I'm really nervous about today are losing KWP and being left short up front. All window I've been sure we'd lose KWP so it would be brilliant if he stays, but if he does go he needs replacing. If we are losing Che and possibly Mara/Ballard/Tall Paul as well then we need another addition on top of Stewart. Get these two positions sorted and I think we'll have had an excellent window.
  10. Tella wanted out. We received a very good offer that met our valuation from one of the top German teams who can offer European football. He was never staying, regardless of what happens with Sully.
  11. 6500 at Nottarf Krap tonight. Massive!
  12. Trust me, it is!
  13. Aside from PL Sheffield United having bids rejected for him you mean? Over a 46 game season with injuries and suspensions, all the above will get plenty of game time.
  14. It's almost like Che and Piroe are the only two strikers out there capable of scoring goals in the Championship.
  15. Martin's comments on transfers in the presser this morning... https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/23731347.southampton-manager-martin-targeting-multiple-new-signings/ Think people just need to be patient, there will be plenty of ins and outs right up to the end of the window I suspect.
  16. Was a shining light in a sea of shit last year, and has seemingly acted very professional throughout this whole saga. With the fee we've got, this is one of those where you can say it's a great deal for all involved. Wish him the best of luck.
  17. Some ridiculous tin foil hat thinking on here. Unfortunate timing yes but footballers can get ill too, the bloke could well be laid up in bed and in no fit state to do a medical etc. If he didn't want to come I'm sure he'd have told us and we would have moved on, rather than everyone concocting a story about food poisoning. I highly doubt Martin would be speaking in such definite terms if he wasn't sure it was happening.
  18. Yes, I thought all three of them spoke very well and were very relatable. Makes you feel like we're in good hands. Only negative for me was their blind faith in Bazunu which is very concerning. We won't be going up with a GK who basically waves the ball past him and barely saves anything, he needs to improve hugely on last season and I just don't see it.

  20. This. Was hoping they would introduce it this summer.
  21. He was arguably our best player on Saturday.
  22. Despite what some on here were saying, this was inevitable from the moment we were relegated, just a matter of when. But it still stings. Prowsey was one of the few who genuinely appeared to care and always give his all and has given us some memorable moments whilst the quality of the squad around him has been slowly eroded over the last few years. I don't begrudge him a move back to the PL at all and although I don't like West Ham, genuinely wish him well. Just a shame his journey here ended like this, if not for relegation I think he would have been a one club man. We've had his best years though and have now got a sizeable fee for him.. Thanks Prowsey.
  23. I don't give a toss about any political party, they've all made a mess of immigration and I have no doubt will continue to make a mess of it, whoever is in power. The point is if we're unable to stop the boatloads coming over then this problem will continue to grow as they have to go somewhere. People like you moan when we try and reduce the number of people coming over, then moan again at the accommodation they're given isn't good enough. That article says 46000 came over on boats alone last year, that is twice the population of Eastleigh and is not sustainable. Genuine question, where would you put them?
  24. One I heard on the radio yesterday was complaining that the 'cramped' accommodation would remind him too much of when he was in a small room hiding from ISIS and would be bad for his mental health. Being safe and given a roof over their head for free isn't enough for some of these people.
  25. And what is wrong with that exactly? They are coming here from safe countries and being offered a safe and adequate place to stay with access to medical care and leisure facilities while their asylum claims are assessed. If they really are coming from awful places where they were persecuted/tortured etc you would think they would be grateful for that, there are thousands of British people living on the streets with no roof over their head who aren't so fortunate to be offered that kind of luxury. If they don't like what they're being offered here then they absolutely should bugger off elsewhere. The UK is not a f*cking charity with endless accommodation.
