  1. I would say so. The positive was that the young lady I bought mine from was extremely attractive and gave me a nice smile.....the negatives were I had to wait longer while all these other old gits tried to charm the pants off her, she had nowhere to put the programmes had it been raining, and some guy was forever giving her extra copies to hold....i mean whats the point of two people doing one persons (old) job ?
  2. I feel more confident with him there than i did with Kelvin flapping like a big girls blouse.
  3. Yeah, I have just read on the OS that he took Rickie off cos he wanted more pace up front. Obviously Mayuka and Guly are similar in terms of speed then
  4. Sorry ? Am i missing the point here ? Living on his goal record ? Um, yeah, he is our top scorer in this league, as he was in the last two leagues we have been in. As has been said he is the talisman, the others look lost without him. Leave him on the ptich and if he gets his head onto the end of one of those corners at the end we win the game. With your logic Le Tissier would never have saved us from relegation year after year cos he would never have been on the pitch ! It was an awful substitution. If he was so desperate to introduce Guly, as he often is, then Jay Rod should have come off. Better still he should have left it as it was up front. A managerial error unfortunately. And the subs thing with NA is becoming a worry to be honest.
  5. There aren't many of them about nowadays.....and those that are play for much bigger clubs than us.
  6. I suppose if Gaston is out we will keep Jay Rod in the team, playing out of position again !!
  7. Well like the club would listen to Merrington about a young player !! I mean he only bought through Le Tissier, Shearer, the Wallaces.........
  8. Old Trafford I believe, not sure of the year tho. Yeah I think it needed a skin graft and was a very serious injury.
  9. Exactly, and they have a contract with the printing company so they aren't going to tear that up after a few weeks. As usual people are jumping the gun, lets just see what they have come up with. Persoanlly I dont see the point of getting rid of programme sellers but hey I dont run the club !
  10. Last time I saw him was at the AGM when the two Dutch blokes were in charge. He was sat just in front of me and asked a very sensible question of them about tactics. After a long meandering answer which made no sense at all he turned round to my mate and I and said "he didnt answer my bloody question did he ?" to which I replied "I dont think he understood it Mark !! "
  11. To anyone who went - would I be right in assuming Jay Rod was played out wide again rather than as a two up front with Rickie ?
  12. Agree with that. Attack as a team, defend as a team. We dont defend as a team and the simple reason is players in the Prem are faster and stronger than our midfield have been used to and they get over run, exposing the defence. The defence is, as we all know, a bit shaky so put the two things together and its no wonder we are shipping goals. I dont get this theory about why Morgan being out injured doesn't help. Ok he is a very good player but he aint much defensively.
  13. I find it totally absurd that because Cortese did not look happy some people have decided he is sharpening the knives ready for Adkins. Sorry but after seeing his tean lose was he supposed to be sat there with a bloody stupid big grin on his face ? ffs.
  14. 2 Goalkeepers amongst the fab four eh ? Oh well done Echo, brilliant as usual. Could easily have has Mayuka there to make it at least sound a bit realisitc !
  15. Definitely David. He's in the same Masons lodge as someone I used to work with.
  16. Pity, always better when Cork is either in the side or ready to come off the bench.
  17. Cant agree with the comments about Richardson not being able to cross the ball. Watch the DVD of last season's goals and see the number of assists he had. Like the look of Jay Rod - as a centre forward at last ! Amazing what happens when someone is played in the natural position. Best I have seen De Ridder play for us. Now if only he would look up before crossing he might still have something to offer us.
  18. Yeah it is irrelevant unfortunately, I have tried on my PC, works PC, a laptop, the wifes i-pad, all with the same result.
  19. Crap isn't it ? Took me 5 attempts to open the story about our new keeper last night.
  20. Most on here said the Burnley fans had a touch of sour grapes about Fox going hence the criticism of him. Seems to me they were spot on. I do hope we dont have to witness his unique style of defending again. Richardson isn't brilliant but he's better than Fox so keep Clyne on the left, Frazer at right back and if we can get a decent freebie left or right back in so be it, otherwise hope these two can do the job until the January window. As Clyne looked so comfortable at left back I dont think its a major issue whether we strengthen left or right side. Just as long as we strengthen one of them.
  21. He hasn't come here to be No. 3 behind Kelvin and Gazza. I just wonder what the pecking order will be. Next few weeks once Boruc has got his match sharpness will be very interesting.
  22. The only time they were in complete control was from when they scored through to the half time whistle as we went to pieces a bit during that period. To claim the whole half out of that iis ridiculous. You can keep your rose tinted specs on, they are not faulty
  23. The team may be, but I doubt it, the city certainly isnt, as you will see next week if you go up there !!
  24. That was my thoughts exactly, I didnt like to say in case it was an over reaction to the win today but he looks the most composed player I have seen in 35 years of watching The Saints.
  25. Can the media wake up, smell the coffee and cut the crap with this "amazing support" b/s they dish up EVERYTIME poopey are mentioned ? 12,000 today for a (fairly) local derby, in ideal weather conditions for watching football, and that includes probably 2000 Swindon fans. Like everything else connected with that sorry excuse for a football club its all lies, smoke screens, and a trick of the light :-)
