I still struggle to see him leaving whilst injured( i still think he'll likely be out till close to new year). Most likely we'll have to rehabilitate him, get him fit, get him match fit and then he'll be flogged in summer.
Also given the dominance of TV money a protest will be of little relevance unless it contributes to relegation.
I'm hoping someone will come in and give them a good offer for a club that'll make them happy to leave with a lump sum over milking saints dry every summer.
Yeah current squad minus expected next batch of departures is a massive relegation scrap squad, which is hardly surprising when you rip the majority of the first xi away.
Indeed especially since there is zero financial need and a million other reasons not to. Simple greed or weakness behind it, don't know which is worse.
No i don't trust them. No board with any sort of ambition would sell 7+ first team starters. They clearly just won't to pocket as much cash as they can and hope to avoid relegation in order to repeat the process next summer.
I still don't think its un feasible with a decent board/owner. Pity we don't have that anymore.
Sure they would buy saints as their feeder club if they were allowed.
Agree, the idea some have that if there's the slightest sniff of interest clubs sell instantly is nonsense. That's what's so terrifying about saints currently. Embarrassing actions by a prem club, acting like a league 1 club.
It's the timescales that have killed the joy. 3/4 years of joy of seeing them play for saints would be ok. The new sell them the instant they show promise kill it's completely for me.
You do invest in a training ground if the plan is to repeatedly strip any assets of value coming through the academy. That's renewable asset stripping or harvesting if you like the term better.
Worst fact about asset strip is that they have removed any joy from watching academy players play for us. We know now in 12 months they'll flog reed, jwp and targett if there's any interest.
