Not sure I agree. It ignores other teams strengthening their line-ups. A new left back, centre back, right back, and attacker and we might have numbers to say we've replaced shaw, lovren, chambers and covered for Jrod. They still have to play to same very high standard. Hoping newfound board toughness and clever non panic buys can put us on right track though.

No way Forster will come to sit on bench. Don't believe Boruc will sit on bench either. Either he'll go now or in jan if we sign Forster.

Shaw and chambers both should have been told to serve their time IMO. Didn't happen and we've got to hold what we've got this season.

He most likely was informed(given he supposedly had a meeting today) and wasn't happy with their stance. The chairman making a public promise to fans takes it to another level, hence his snide tweet attack. Just hoping saints have guts to hold their nerve no matter how many toys he chucks from pram. Line in the sand needs to be held.

Yeah it'll be hard to slam the floodgates shut after leaving them open so long. Better than leaving them open and the good ship saints sinking to the bottom of the ocean.

Their incompetence and weakness has put us in this situation. I certainly won't be apologising to them. I will happily applaud them though for finally waking and smelling the coffee and showing some gumption. Long may it last.

Also I'd much prefer an unhappy Morgan than to lose the next set of dominoes(clyne/wanyama etc) by showing utter weakness.

Hardly surprised, Morgan was always going to strain saints resolve to keep him with a public attack, no doubt followed by a transfer request. I have no sympathy for Morgan, acting with zero care for damage to club he's trying to inflict. Saints have been good to him and he doesn't have right to walk away at his choosing. Stay strong saints, as you should have before others such as shaw and chambers forced their way out.

Yep good interview. The statements that have been needed. I'm taking it as evidence of a directional shift in boardroom rather than Ralph being hung out as a Guy Fawkes to be burnt a week down the line.

I'm grabbing hold of this nugget of positivity with both hands. Exactly the sort of robust leadership that should have happened earlier but proof will be in the pudding.

Disagree narrative has to be ambitious, especially given they are going to have to try and convince good players to join us. Talking avoiding relegation would be sending further into crisis tailspin. Just wish it hadn't taken this long to get hold of the tiller and wish i had confidence they aren't going to wander away from it again.

That's my hope.

I'm wondering about some shifts within the boardroom. Did one of Guan's messages imply something of that sort? I wonder if Reed's responsibilities may be scaled back.

Agree it should have happened before Chambers. If Chambers is the Catalyst for common sense prevailing in the board room then while it is a mighty price to pay(losing someone like chambers) at least there will be a small upside.

If someone has finally realised there is a domino effect to these departures i'll be vastly relieved. Two unhappy players is vastly preferable to a crisis mentality where's there's a never ending stream of players agitating for moves. Doesn't mean we're out of trouble. We still have to attract and complete deals for top quality replacements for the players we have lost.

Interesting that someone has finally uttered the words 'not for sale'. Should have happened much earlier. Maybe debacle that was Chambers departure has had some positive repercussions as well as the serious negative ones in terms of loss a quality academy player. Still in an utter mess but maybe they can dampen down the vibe of Saints as a crisis club that must be deterring decent potential signings.

Holtby would certainly make a good addition.

Well i think its more a case of him not being interested in the likes of us.

That's comically low imo. However given i find the notion of selling a guy with a serious knee injury crazy, the only likely way we can do it is by offering him to them on the cheap.
