  1. No it wont. The most important match in Saints' history (living memory) was in 1976. The second one was Coventry at home. If we beat inter its special because its a big club away in a massive stadium.... but its not worth a damn to the club or the fans. They will come bottom of the group. Sour mash isn't right, but neither are people who want to make this into the biggest game in the club's fairly modest history.
  2. Have you added the somalians, pakistanis etc.... sorry i mean Syrians, no wait, they aren't from syria!!!
  3. He will never be the player he could have been due to that injury. Just hope for the best for him now.
  4. I would love to see Redmond, Tadic and Boufal (when all fit) playing as Attacking mids/wingers behind Austin. With Romeu and PEJ as the holding midfielders. Then jayrod and Long to come on for attacking pace/power and directness in the second half. Sadly that just isn't how we play.
  5. Good efforts Colin and Milton Pahars variant not bad either. I think the abba option has potential along the knowing me, knowing you lines. Silky Skills, Scoring goals... Boufal There is nothing he can't do. He's owning you, owning you... Boufal etc etc etc Scoring goals,
  6. I honestly think Trump is going to win the US election. Everywhere you look the right (sometimes far) is on the rise. UK, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Finland etc etc etc. The USA is no different other than they have a higher proportion of nutters. Scary times.
  7. I think what you're saying here is that we were right to leave? We have been harmed massively by the EU between 2005 and 2015?!?! Because clearly being in wasn't working
  8. That's hilarious. So our support the best part of a century ago was better than their current support...
  9. I think most serious saints fans would manage to name at least 4 players that have played for our U23's this season....
  10. I'd like to see a world table of net transfer spend for the past 3 seasons
  11. Les Reed in "due diligence" shocker anyone?
  12. Personally think we played a very tactical game tonight. Harsh conditions, 5 hours flight, time difference, 2 hour drive through the desert to reach the city. And yet we coasted to a draw vs a team that have beaten Celtic (who should have beaten city) and Olympiacos. Fans may not like it, but a draw was all that was required to win the group - where as on Sunday we need to aim for a result. Puel is managing the squad excellently, and it was clear that he told the team not to press first half to conserve energy.... If fans can't understand the above I would question their intelligence. Whether you like it or agree with it is a different story.
  13. DeepBlue Fans owns 95% of the club. PST currently owns about 47% and the new issue, if it happens, will take that figure back above 50%, not that that is important because the constitution of the club makes 25% with the PST the important figure. Your pathetic attempts to stir up trouble by pretending that people never understood where their grands went or who they went to when in fact it was always quite clear and everyone except you understood it just make you look like a bitter XXXXXX, and changing your name to disguise yourself and come out with the same XXXXXX you did months ago fools nobody.
  14. They may have blocked our access to POL.... But there are plenty of other (mostly empty) fish forums online. Tkae this gem: http://fansonline.net/portsmouth/mb/view.php?id=659378 " 12th July 2012 when we put £1,xxx in me and my other half. We never wanted a dividend or some profit then or even now, but just to go to Fratton and enjoy a game because like most of you we feared our club would die. When we have the money to get over from Italy we will always make sure we get to a game. Ana (that is my partner) looked around from our seats at the Fratton end Pompey Coventry December 2011 and she said, it's not like a Penarol game at home in Montevideo but you fans are pretty noisy and passionate, I like this place! Over dinner a couple weeks ago we were talking with some Inter fans talking about the San Siro, we are so good, we make the stadium rock they said. Ana replied, you and your stadium have absolutely nothing, you want an atmosphere, you want noise and passion? you should go to Portsmouth, even if you Italians can't pronounce it. Porsmoute?? they said. Si more or less. That is a football stadium your stadium is a mortary in comparisson."
  15. Pretty cringe video that. Very insulting to Israel but then we all know what fat english football fans wearing too tight a football top abroad.... we just have to look at the class of english fans in France this summer.... Still, I hoped our club would fly a better flag.

  17. Fixed it for you
  18. Saying stuff like this and it makes you seem a total imbecile.... No doubt you were one of the ones moaning that he was a total waste of space on a certain thread on here. That guy was lethal and he isn't liverpool's record signing for no reason... Do you not remember some of his goals? Let alone the curling chip from the byline vs arsenal.
  19. Thats a really poor outlook to be honest Vectis. We are moving into the generation of players that came through when cuts were being made to the youth team. Cortese's management of the club signed players like Stephens and Gallagher and identified the weakness. He also drove the clubs policy and ethos and set it up so that we have quality coming through behind that black hole in quality.... Look at players like Sims, Statterly etc. If they singed 7,8,9 years ago they will have benefited massively from the coaching and set up of the youth teams since we have been in League 1. The block of kids before that were having their formative training when we were in dire straights lets not kid ourselves. Our under 23's/21's are on fire this season, they won the u21 cup previously and a lot of that generation are technically u18's. Its no mean feet considering we compete with Manchester City style campuses. And you obviously haven't read the article if you assume it only refers to the academy - although if it is deceased we should knock down the ML Pavilion?!?! No need for it anymore I assume? But not only that, the whole set up of doing due diligence and having a plan stems from cortese's influence on the club and the foundations he laid. It is madness to ignore the influence he had on the club and dangerous to believe the PR crap that it all comes from Les Reed alone. It all went hand in hand.
  20. In fairness we had Clyne on the books for 10k a week - that is basically criminal and a long way below the minimum wage of most england internationals....
  21. Yay! Played well second half, stepped it up a notch. And good to see the manager making meaningful substitutions to change the game. I think Puel has the tactical ability to do well and hopefully that will become clearer and clearer over the next couple of weeks.
  22. same. I've got the bundle and will be traveling down from Bris for all of them if I can. Its a marked difference from JPT on a tuesday night and what was the point of all the nights since that one if our fanbase can't even turn out to enjoy one of the rewarding high points. Would be very disappointing for it not to be a sell out. It would also justify everyone who writes saints off as a provincial minnow; for any club worth its salt the european nights are what it is all about.
  23. Popular successful manager falls out with chairman and leaves club for better things. England Rugby team manager consulted. poor investment in playing staff in favour of "relying on the kids" - Saints relegated and some of the darkest days in our history followed.
