  1. Its hard to go to a game knowing our fellow fans want us to struggle, get relegated, and endure a bad atmosphere around the team. All so they can watch us play a worse standard of football.... I'll support the club through thick and thin, not just lose interest whilst we struggle; only to come back if we end up in the 3rd tier and start winning again. And the minimum expectation and ambition for a club of our size, history and standing is to be in the premier league. It shows a complete lack of ambition and passion to not be the best we can be. And if the fans set that level of expectation, passion and interest then they can hardly turn around and moan when the team struggles.
  2. Imagine if he turns into a good manager for us...
  3. Do you think, that if we win, this place will calm down a bit? I certainly hope so! Also, I think we will win. 2-0 to saints. Yes, I did just predict an opposition team won't score against us....
  4. Why would you want to be the 6th - 8th best team in the country with a chance of winning a serious cup final when you could be playing AFC wimbledon and Fleetwood Town. Literally this is beyond pathetic as a mindset. Life got hard, so lets go bully some smaller clubs and feel good about ourselves. Fortunately the 32k fans who turned out to watch us beat Coventry one sunny May afternoon know what it is all about. OFC, you would rather be coventry and competing at the upper echelons of the 4th tier. Do you people hear yourselves?
  5. What was it, 7 former (or current) u21's played in that match or something. Shame Koeman fell out with Reed/Tadic etc. Club has imploded since then.
  6. If we are going to sack the manager, I'd sack him for a half competent loyalist. I'd rather we supported the manager and give him decent players. And I'd rather we got rid of pretty much our entire top order board wise. I'd far rather we did that than anything else tbh. Stale, stagnant and old at the top... and its showing now at all levels of the club. Well, except the clubs advertising, we are quite good at youtube videos...
  7. Well said Duncan, the ones who want relegation or a relegation scrap are frankly being dullards. What they want is to win, and they're grumbling about supporting a team that isn't. They rather be **** (and win), than be good. Its a joke. What fans want is to see saints playing kids, attacking football, and upsetting the big teams. That would keep the fans happy. Anything above 12th would keep the fanbase content with those things delivered. What we would love is what we've had since 2010 - 2016.
  8. The board are just keeping quiet and letting someone else take the flack. simple as that.

So you have now resulted to insulting fellow posters and fans. Nice one. For me, one characteristic of weakness is when people chose not to see or accept the truth, even when they are clearly wrong in doing so. What is worse, is that you would turn on the manager, players and fellow fans, rather than lay the blame squarely where it belongs. The club have underachieved massively from where we were with poch and that squad of players (the key players, manager, and back room staff from this team were not recruited by this board. Since then they have had a few seasons of complete free reign... And you need to open your eyes about how it is going, clearly. Even when he got the golden goose in Koeman, they ****ed him off, lost Toby, rejected his methods, and basically shoved him out the door as soon as another team offered to pay us for him...
  10. Absolute ****ing cringe. Not even protesting about the right people. Embarrassing.
  11. The reason our support is "woeful" is because Leslie sold every fan favourite player and used PR connections to demonise them in the press. The result is a fanbase which expects all the players to leave us, and has very little connection to the team... we have no songs, we expect the players to leave us because we are told that is our place in the pyramid... and Leslie insists on playing snoozeball footy... Going to the championship and struggling there won't change any of this. All it would do is ensure we sell even more key players and have a poorer standard of football.
  12. Seen Adkins name mentioned a lot on the forum today. 1.) Would fans be happy with Adkins, but struggling in the prem and possibly relegated and playing championship footy next year (with the kids)? Alternatives being: 2.) Sacking the manager and getting someone like BFS / Pulis 3.) More of the same, either with mopey or a mopey/Puel clone? For me, I would prefer to play attacking football, and dropping out of form players for kids. Even if that meant we struggled. I should add that I don't think there is a cat in hell's chance of us appointing Adkins as manager! Just curious of the fans wider mood?
  13. There was already a thread covering this. It all went wrong when cortese was forced out, possibly when ML died and we became little more than a cash cow.
  14. Has to go soon surely. Failed horrendously from the moment cortese left. Lost poch, fell out with koeman, the summer of discontent (at his stewardship) wanyama, Morgan, forster... God it just goes on and on.

    Les Reed

Quite, we have the usual Les Reed cultists on here to defend him through thick and thin as well; they'll even blindly deny how good Koeman's team was
  16. It should be a Les Reed out protest. Short sightedness again from the fans.

From nearly getting champions league footy.... To a relegation scrap. All in less than a season and a half of complete, free range, Les Reed stewardship. Hopefully not much of it left. The man who helped hold saints back from our potential, yet who also gets the praise for our rise. A true worm, rotting us from the inside whilst he goes about his daily life. What is one of our mantra's, "no one is bigger than the club"....
  18. The worst in the league by some way.... But according to some on here.... Puel was the saviour?!?!?
  19. Fair, I agree to the above
  20. I think all that goes to show is that football fans are foolish and will moan regardless. The footy under koeman was pretty darn good on the whole. He had a bad blip where the fans were getting nervous, but most managers will have that with saints lets be honest. Particularly given the villa and Sunderland smashings.
  21. Interview with Mopey in the Daily Mail. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5078537/Mauricio-Pellegrino-vows-fulfill-Southampton-s-ambition.html
  22. He isn't right. If Puel does well there it shows that the team here is not good enough. As simple as that.
  23. Eh, we used to hoof it up field to Pelle and Long with Koeman? Plus we attacked teams with pace and overlapping full backs! I'm not saying he is the messiah or magic fix. But lets not write paintative rubbish about our best ever prem manager and the guy who almost got us Champions League footy Mind you, he did have Toby, Mane, Pelle, Wanyama, Morgan etc. Perhaps the fault lies with our recruitment and retention policies. I am not sure Koeman would do much better than Puel or Mopey.
  24. Was telegraphed months ago tbh. If he wants the holland job he has played a blinder tbh. Either does well at Everton or gets a whopper pay out, and guaranteed the Holland job if he wants it. Koeman knows how to play the game; that is for sure.
  25. It worked with our old manager
