You are aware he had NO squad when he joined saints. Even tweeting his disastifaction with a picture of an open training ground. The history rewriting that goes on on here is a joke. Koeman assembled the best squad at saints in my supporting lifetime. Bringing in key players like Pelle, Mane, Tadic, Bertrand, Cedric, Forster, Toby, VVD, Romeu. Honestly, the stuff our fans come out with on here is hilarious. He may have done the dirty on us (or we forced him out), and he hasn't been very gracious since he left.... But lets not insult the man and make ourselves look lime completely demented vegetables with comments like this please.

Really good summary mate. And interesting analysis of the ref. I didn't realise he was responsible for all that!
-
Good win today! Managed to miss it on holiday but pleasantly surprised with the 3 points! Glad Davis scored to silence his critics on here.
-
Strange comment Dodd, you do know that Les Reed signed none of our key players pre-prem?!?!
-
Yeah, no one ever enquired after Lallana, Lambert or Fonte before we hit the premier league. Literally amazing how people come up with complete toffee on here. Why are fans incapable of a level headed look at things? And what difference does it make if NC would have sold players? That may well have been part of his strategy. I think the point many make is that he would have kept Poch, and would have recruited better than the current administration. No point clouding it more than that. The relative track records of NC vs the current board are not favourable to LR and co.

Flicking through all the badges on that talksport link has made me appreciate just how different and good ours actually is. I was a "no" to changing before I looked. Now I am a definite "never!!"
-
I think its fairly obvious that if Gao wanted to spend money, that NC would be a far more effective choice than LR et al.

NC'S Closing comment: "for the right project, i would definitely be willing to look into it. Football works well for me, and if their is an opportunity there then I could very much think of coming back. I don't know if it will be england." He also had a breakfast with a very eminent person in football this morning. I didn't catch the rest sadly.

Is that even possible on this place anymore Monk?
-
I would put Krueger and Cortese together. Could be amusing
-
Hmm, a fair point that can't easily be discounted i suppose.
-
So no tax, and a lot of work to be done? I sense an opportunity for us engineers!
-
Ah sorry Duncan, I did, i thought you were implying he did a bad job and got paid for it
-
I just don't see how he can be that significant. And if he is, why is it allowed to continue? We must have seriously weak players, a weak manager, and weak footballing structure in place if they can't identify the problem and deal with it?!?!
-
That is my point. The recruitment has been terrible for a while now. The managers aren't being adequately backed, so why do the fans always turn on the managers when a large portion of the blame for lack of squad depth is nothing to do with them?
-
Would you seriously begrudge that man for his efforts. Wowsa. And people go on about the Cult of Cortese on here...
-
It sounded to me like he was undermined by Dougie F. Laughable really given their comparative football pedigrees.
-
You say that, but we make next to know clear chances.
-
In answer to the thread title, "goalscoring problem, what can we do?". Our boards answer: "Sign two CB's and a def mid".
-
Levy isn't a decent bloke. I'd rather have him than our entire board when it comes to recruitment. Really is a laughable comment SKD.
-
I think this is a bit harsh. On Davis in particular.
-
This I agree with, sorry before it sounded like you were already turning completely on the manage and players. For me, the squad has been undermined for 2-3years now. The managers don't get much say on transfers, and it's fairly clear that the wheels are coming off. The only thing that saves us is how good the managers can be, because they don't have anything particularly excellent to work with.
-
Its fine mate don't worry. We signed 2CB's and a defensive midfielder to help us score
-
None of what you say is the fault of the current manager. You know that right? We have massive issues scoring and we signed 2CB's and a Def Midfielder.... Then for some odd reason we've got a bang average goalie on a what, a 6year contract?!?! Your arguments about players may or may not be right, but the current manager didn't sign them and in fact has not been allowed to make any signings. And on top of that, he didn't make the decision to keep the allegedly troublesome black. Please allocate blame against the correct people. It is ridiculous to turn on the manager after 5games!
