  1. I'm curious, how are you intending to turn a buddy holly song into a saints football chant Please do elaborate, I am hooked
  2. Whilst its impressive support they also have riot police in full body armour and huge number of hooligans dressed all in black who are there only to fight.... Thanks, but no thanks.
  3. Lets be honest, if he only had four top teeth to give you then you should probably have known what you were getting into anyway?
  4. Should we sing it? I mean the entertainment they've given us, and the dedication they've shown over keeping it up over the years is close to that off a loved one I feel.... Wait does that mean we have another set of closet admirers down the leagues?
  5. Article on the BBC stating that we took part in a recent football study into footballers teeth and that it can prevent footballers training due to the pain etc... Does anyone know of any players this effects at the club? Would be interested to know if we have had any serious problems with it? Don't know if this gets checked in medicals http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-34699583 Professional footballers have worryingly poor teeth that could be affecting their performance on the pitch, say dentists. Their study on players at eight clubs in England and Wales, in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, showed nearly four out of 10 had cavities. West Ham United's medical staff said athletes often had worse teeth than the general population. Regularly consuming sugary foods is one possible explanation. The dentists, from the International Centre for Evidence-Based Oral Health at University College London, examined 187 players' sets of teeth. They found 53% had dental erosion, 45% were bothered by the state of their teeth and 7% said it affected their ability to train or play. Around 40% had tooth decay, compared with 30% of people of a similar age in the general population. Prof Ian Needleman, one of the researchers, told the BBC News website: "These are individuals who otherwise invest so much in themselves so it's a surprising finding. "There are two main groups - some have a catastrophic effect, they have very severe abscesses that stop them in their tracks and they cannot play or train. "There'll be others experiencing pain affecting sleeping or sensitivity every time they take a drink. "At this level of athlete, even small differences can be quite telling." Nutrition is one of the primary suspects with frequent consumption of sugary or acidic foods during training potentially accounting for tooth decay and erosion. A lot of air in the mouth during exercise can also dry it out so there is less protection from saliva. Prof Needleman said that while "these findings are worrying" clubs were giving dental health a "higher priority" and were educating their players. Previous research has shown "striking" levels of bad teeth in athletes competing at the London 2012 Olympic Games. The teeth of athletes at London 2012 were broadly in the same state as those of footballers. Players from Manchester United, Hull, Southampton, Swansea, West Ham, Brighton, Cardiff and Sheffield United all took part in the study. Stijn Vandenbroucke, the head of medicine and sports science at West Ham, said there were "clear preventive benefits for athletes and club". He added: "Oral health is an area where many athletes have greater problems than the general population so it has been a massive achievement for so many professional football clubs to collaborate with each other to help us understand the scale of this problem better."
  6. Why do these w3nkers, from both sides, think it is acceptable in this day and age to go out getting smashed up and starting fights. Let alone putting someone in hospital... You wouldn't do it at home, at work or round someone else house... so why the hell do they think its okay to get smashed in a pub pre match and act like fecking cavemen, effecting innocent peoples lives, families and kids.... Makes you think we should offer their citizenship rights to a few of the poor people in the Calais jungle on a permanent basis ffs; they've had all these benefits in life, but they're still fecking morons.
  7. As with your Aston Villa pre match comments; you are wrong. The squad is obviously stronger than last years and it is purely a question of the first 11 not being quite at the same level or fluidity as yet... This is coming however. There is a fine line between questioning the team and looking for any negative you can find to rejoice about and/or keep picking at so that you can stand up and go "look at me, I was right"... with each one of these posts/threads you make/start you are reaffirming my opinion that you are just doing the same as other negative posters on here so that you can have your "i'm right moment" just like so many broken records. The squad has undergone large changes again this year, and you forget completley that for the opening matches we didn't have 5 of last years back 6.... yet despite all that we are in 7th and have a nice run of games coming up to push higher with... The team are now starting to click, Clasie is beginning to find his feet and after Christmas/January we should have 2 top quality GK's to pick from... We haven't even dipped into playing the kiddies yet despite injuries and suspensions... In comparison we had seven u21 players playing against Everton earlier in the year. It is beyond me how you think we will need to go to those lengths again this season barring an absolutely catastrophic injury crisis. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt this time regards to the squad depth and having a moan, but honestly, of all the things this season, this is not something you should be moaning about. The win over Villa is further proof of the depth we have.
  8. There are 2 ways to stop the opposition getting on top... Get stuck in and effectively shut them down (which turns into a scrap fest)... or get better at keeping the ball. Most games now there are periods where the oppo can't live with us. We need to get fitter, stronger and more fluid and maintain this for longer. There were games last season where the oppo didnt get shots on targets and I can see us returning to that level this season. I think we will be top 6 this year at the moment. Injuries can ofc derail that.

  10. Is that based on the fact that no other PL game will be against Bournemouth at St Mary's? I mean state the bleeding obvious Charlie.... Christ!
  11. Will do nicely, upwards and onwards! Quite pleased with the strength in squad depth on show tonight, despite certain posters saying we had a weaker squad than when we lost to sunderland under poch...
  12. Another reason why this is unfounded... we have a much stronger squad this season. Unreal to think that our squad this year is worse than that years.
  13. Sorry but whilst I understand the point you are trying to make, what you have put is nonsense. The cup composition is very similar to that year with Chelsea (Holders) and Arsenal both out. Liverpool are almost an irrelevance compared to the year they had Suarez and came second as well. We are very much in and amongst the favourites, I think there is only one team that we should genuinely fear and the rest we can certainly expect to give a game to and probably beat on our day. Therefore failure to take it seriously would be unacceptable given the clubs open target of winning silverware.
  14. But but but... this can't be. They are the bestest?
  15. Article about stadium development plans: https://pompeynewsnow.wordpress.com/2015/10/19/fratton-park-stick-or-twist/ A couple of classic comments: If Fratton Park cannot be Redeveloped to Capacity of at least 40k,I think I think a new Stadium should be built.I remember crowds of 40k.This club has always been undersold, and has a huge catchment area.Don’t forget the record crowd is over 53k. We could easily achieve 35k+
  16. http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/news/40855 Portsmouth residents are up in arms after it has been revealed that all mail sent from the PO Postcode will now be stamped with a Southampton postmark. City leaders in Portsmouth have expressed their disappointment that all mail sent from the PO postcode will now have a Southampton postmark after the closure of the Slindon Street processing centre in Portsmouth. The local paper The News has broken the story as Councillors and residents alike are frothing at the mouth. Speaking to the News Leader of Portsmouth City Council Councillor Donna Jones said: "This is the first I have heard of it." "I’m disappointed. We’re a city and it’s important that we recognise our city status, particularly as tourists will come to the city and send postcards to friends and loved ones." "Portsmouth deserves and should have its own postmark." "We are a city and it’s important that we recognise our city status particularly as tourists will come to the city and send postcards to friends and loved ones " "I'm going to talk to the Royal Mail about this" There is more, but you can click the link if you want
  17. As with earlier in this thread, I can't believe people are going to right Claise off after 30min when he has been out with injuries. He has barely played in the premier league and already he is Elia Mk II. This place is unbearable after a draw. Fanbase needs to get a grip, if we had won this game we would have been 5th, as it is we are doing pretty nicely given our start. We got a draw against one of the form sides of the division and 3 points at chelsea... Most fans would bite your hand off for 4points from those two games... But instead we are here laying into players because we can't understand that sometimes the whole team just have an off day or that the opposition were worth the point.
  18. And there you have it ladies and gentlemen of saintsweb... It took 30minutes of premier league football for a player who has been out for months and half of pre season to be deemed not good enough. The forum has spoken. I do however agree that romeu should have come on as we needed to tighten up. The ref was a 12th man for them today as well. Utter disgrace in terms of bias.
  19. Either would have been fine. Ranieri is a class manager.
  20. Ever consider that its good of them to give you a refund and a letter may or may not be in the post?
  21. With the note worthy exception that he stuck with a club going out of business in the 3rd tier of english football and set to start on -10points rather than jump up 3 divisions (and a similar hike in annual wage and career earnings)... No, we don't owe the man any loyalty at all. Lets not even mention Leed's away or a crucial penalty save vs Brighton.
  22. Why does he have to become a "leading prem player" - you show your bias with that comment alone frankly. JWP will be a good prem player for most of his career bar major injury... He is 20years old and a very solid option for us at it is, with 100 appearances and having captained England at every level he's played at. He has very good technical and dead ball abilities, covers a tremendous amount of ground during games and has been making improvements over his physical game as well as being the best dead ball player in our team and one of the better ones in the prem. No one said he needs to be a "leading player", but frankly if you are using players like Sanchez or Aguero as a yardstick to beat him with then you are very clearly biased against the lad and using any argument you can to put him down... he must be doing something right mind, if you can only criticize him for not becoming a leading player...
  23. lol. Funny that Arsenal fans took one look at him in the 2-1 cup game (one of his first matches for us) and said he was class and really dangerous. A lot of numpties like you on here that write players off far to early. JWP is another one that people will look like utter mugs over. 20 years old, 100 apps for a premier league team and captained his country at every level... but useless pile of steaming horse dung according to the world class scouts and managers on here.

He clearly hates saints. What a sucker lol. Embarrassing himself with that article as most fans look at saints and can't argue with what RK said, even if it is very cheesy
