I think we drew ourselves into a bit of a corner with Dyer. We never seemed all that keen to keep him, but at the same time we didn't want to lose him for nothing. So we offered him a contract in the hope that we'd get some tribunal cash when he went elsewhere. But he couldn't find another club so ended up signing for us, and we are now stuck with a player who probably doesn't want to be here and the feeling appears to be mutual. I can see us letting him go for free in the summer, and this little gamble could have cost us several hundred thousand.

I'm sure they do, but it was never their money they were planning on putting in was it? Hence all the comments of 'we'll have the cash any day now'. Face facts, the credit crunch/recession has put paid to any potential takeover. We are screwed, the only consolation is that other clubs are likely to be in the same boat as us.

Think of it the other way round. If we brought a player in on loan, we'd expect him to be here the next day and to be in contention for the next match. It shouldn't really be any different for Dyer, except I think that Saints don't really want him around so aren't rushing him to come back.

If those highlights are a fair reflection of the chances in the game, then I'd say we were pretty lucky to get anything out of the match. Our defending is embarrassing to watch. Wasn't Jan a defender?

Very true, when they were adding the extra lanes to the M27 by Portsmouth, that bit of road was easier to get through at rush hour than before, and in fact better than it is now with 4 lanes each way.

So if the loan deal ended after Sundays game, and he's now gone back, why is Nathan Dyer not expected to return to training until after the New Year? Seems he is just another player to be tossed onto the scrapheap by our revolutionary management team.

Has anyone got one of those internet streaming radios? Was looking at getting a new DAB, but saw one of these pretty cheap, and wondered if it was worth a closer look? One question that comes to mind, can you listen to the football on them? I know there are a lot of restrictions on what can be broadcast over the internet, so I'm thinking I probably wouldn't be able to get matches on Solent/Radio Hampshire?

Last year was crap, but I wouldn't imagine this year will be much better. Yes, we may have reduced costs, but revenue must have dropped off a cliff.
