Can you really not see the difference between regular fans having a bit of banter on here and people being deliberately employed/asked to come on here and present a certain point of view? If Rupert wants to put his point of view on here, he can register like the rest of us.

How much does a full page national newspaper advert cost?

He can't start threads......

would you accept administration if it meant Lowe left?
Scummer replied to The Fat Controller's topic in The Saints
I think admin would result in a further relegation next season as well, so no. Admin is a very bad thing for a football club these days, I'd barely wish it on Pompey. -
I did. Very interesting, thanks.

If it's still a good deal at £5k+ more, then go for it. Presumably the other party will then get informed of your higher offer and get given a chance to go higher again though? Don't get carried away, decide what you feel the flat is worth and stick to it.
-
But then everyone would see the adverts? As paid up members, we don't get to see them. Although from the brief glimpse I got earlier, they weren't that obtrusive. I could put up with them if I choose not to renew my subscription this year.

Expect a story on this bloke in the Echo sometime this week, now that we've made them aware of this bloke.

If he's our advisor, what the hell is he advising us on?
-
Yeah we formed a management company. We just sorted out costs between us as and when they occurred to be honest, we didn't have a fund.
-
It's still the club that owes the money. If we are in administration the club still exists, it's just being run (administered) by someone else (the administrator). Shareholder liability is limited to the value of their shares (at issue price, not market value).
-
I think it means money owed to other members of the 'football family', for example the FA and other clubs. It's designed to ensure that other clubs don't suffer unduly as a result of a team going into administration. HMRC don't come under football related debts as far as i'm aware.

If the four flats each own a quarter of the freehold, who are you paying the ground rent to? And what for? I was in a similar position, and the four flat owners just agreed to abolish the ground rent when we bought the freehold.

Firstly, it's not a question of 10 points or 17, it would be 10 plus 17, 27 in total which I think is what a couple of teams started on this year? My point was that if we go into admin and take the 10 point hit, it's unlikely that we'd get things sorted until the summer. We'd then have a further 17 point deduction to start next season with.
-
We may not owe them at the minute, but unless we've stashed a load of funds away to pay future bills from them, we'll owe them in the future.
-
Even if we took the 10 point hit this season, we'd still get an additional one next year as HMRC aren't accepting CVA's (?). Think the league have been hitting people with 17 point deductions for coming out of administration without a CVA.
-
I'm not sure we've got a few games to be honest. If we are going to do anything, it needs to happen now.

Does it make sense though, to expand all your grounds by 10-20,000 just for one tournament? Wouldn't you just end up with a load of half-empty stadiums afterwards? I wonder what happened to all the grounds they built in Portugal and Austria-Switzerland for recent competitions? There's no point having big grounds if you haven't got the population to fill them. England has the advantage that all the grounds are already there and are full every week. We could host a world cup our european championships at a few weeks notice if we had to. The current economic situation will mean people look more closely at this sort of issue than they have in the past.

Who are we talking about, the one who looks like the baddie in Charlies Angels?
-
Much poorer clubs than us seem to be able to afford to sack their managers. I don't buy this excuse that we haven't got the money to pay JP off. How long is his contract anyway? Even if it's longer than a year I imagine there's a break clause in there somewhere. Surely you wouldn't hire an unproven manager and give him a watertight 2 or 3 year contract?

Although I don't for a minute think you are a plant, that it is a bit of a silly thing to say as history shows Lowe takes this site very seriously, enough to waste the club's money on paying people to post on here.

Jay was co-commentating on 5Live on Saturday, and was asked about the Norwich job. He said something along the lines of: So he didn't seem to think Norwich was an option.
