  1. Well either way perhaps she won’t be a huge loss if that is the case!
  2. Let’s forget having one- saved £646 odd thousands by not replacing Ralph Krueger Let’s continue lining the pockets of Mr Gao
  3. A back 5 for me as our defensive personnel aren’t good enough for a back 4- which I think frustrates Ralph! The central midfield pairing should be PEH/Romeu or PEH/JWP, think JWP needs dropping no point playing all three in a 5 at the back. PEH also needs dropping too but we cant as we’ve let Lemina go. A Redmond/Ings/Boufal front 3- leaves us with Adams, Djenepo as attacking subs and perhaps put Armstrong on for one of the CMs should we really need a goal. I also do think though one of Ralphs faults is focusing too much on this flexible idea that we ourselves don’t seem to have an identity and we can’t choose our best 11- lets just get a consistency going- I hope in these two weeks Ralph is working on a single formation and not getting the players to learn 4231s/343s/532s etc etc I’d rather teams adapt to us than the other way around- especially for this home game at Wolves- at least under Poch/Koeman we had a settled 11 that chose itself
  4. Why would people think it is easier to reorganise ourselves without the PL money if we go down? Why go down when the ultimate goal in the Championship is to get promoted to where we already are?!?! I agree though that some benefits include perhaps cheaper ticket prices/Saturday 3pms and the ‘louder’ fans in but going down doesn’t bring any additional good if anything- and hits our local economy too. This whole argument only comes out when we’re ****- the quicker people learn that being in the PL is about troughs and peaks the better- we are having our little recession right now just hope it doesn’t turn into a heavy depression.
  5. Yep- a lot of people do say that southampton is a good away day! Wont ever forget back in like 12/13 when each PL club was given £200k to help their away fans and we used some of that money to improve the away fans concourse at SMS
  6. I would actually take a 5-0 tonking in the league if it guaranteed us progress in the next round of the league cup. The league games against City won’t mean much, the genuine 6 pointers with other mid table teams will. So my preference would be play Redmond, Boufal, Djenepo, Cedric, Bertrand etc in the cup game, and the league game can have anyone from the B team plus anyone who feels fresh from the first game, e.g. Valery, Armstrong etc!
  7. literally along the lines of what u said and then we get bloody City pool play arsenal and Chelsea play utd
  8. Crawley away my personal choice atm if not then obviously lowest ranked team at home
  9. When I buy FIFA 20 next week, then for sure your team will be the way I will line up BUT, I don’t trust us with 4 at the back as we don’t have any leaders like Fonte or quality like VVD. So my team would be this for the Prem, and whilst I like the sentiment of playing Djenepo/Redmond/Boufal at once, it leaves us with no good attacking sub option tbh. ————————-Gunn—————— ——-Bednarek-Vestegaard-Yoshida—— Cedric——-Romeu———-PEH———-Bertrand —————-Redmond———-Boufal———— ——————————Adams————————
  10. If we play 4 at the back then yes, for sure I’d have JWP over one of our CBs. Yes JWP hasn’t scored or set the game alight like he did last season around Jan time but he is still doing all the basics right, linking defence/attack AND most importantly perhaps (although admittedly I have not checked the numbers), ran the most and really covered each blade of grass. That would be the explanation behind JWP, and as long as he is doing that then he will continue to start. Moreover, if we are really in search for a goal then he can easily be the one to sacrifice for our attacking flair players. I agree above, I really do not think all 3 (Djenepo, Boufal and Redmond) would work together. We had these similar discussions in 2013/14, where some fans recommended that Steven Davis be dropped to have Lallana/Jay Rod and Gaston Ramirez play together- usually we were rubbish when that happened. It might look good on paper but in reality it oft works.
  11. United also had a lot of pace with Rashford, James and Pereira and Vestergaard was motm that game. So I hope we don’t drop Vest purely due to a short-term focus. He should play and build chemistry with a settled defence and I still have faith that he will be quality for us or at the very least competent (similar to Dunk or something- a good no nonsense regular CB (that we paid £18m for!)). I would not trust him in a back 4 though I guess. I know it is Bournemouth at home and I too also want 4 at the back and an attacking line up, but I think we will play a 3 at the back. Gunn Bednarek Vestergaard Danso Cedric Romeu PEH Bertrand Djenepo Boufal Adams Although at the same time I feel this is harsh on JWP and Redmond- we can save them for Fratton or something! It feels to good to find it tough to choose the team- a very welcome problem for Ralph.
  12. I can see a 0-0 or a 1-1 tbh Although I also see us as likelier to win than they are, but if I was a betting man then I’d predict a draw because they are a limited Championship side on paper but with confidence Adams and Ings can’t shoot but fancy Adams to bag one today. Neither striker can make the space like Redmond can hence the reserved prediction- and they gave Leicester a good game too.
  13. No it didn’t- I wanted one as well but it sold out when it got to ST Holders + 3 Aways
  14. Nah sod the bullet points. If we can get a visual enactment of what one should look like, what one should eat and what one should chant, then that would be great
  15. In a group with PSG and Real Madrid, good luck to him (even if both has some internal turmoil) Yeah pretty much this too- he is good friends with Ings and Valery based off Instagram
  16. My view is that he is a good presenter in fairness, or not a bad one anyway. However I think what might rile the majority is that he takes home circa £2m- I’d far prefer the BBC get a presenter on a tenth of those wages and reduce/scrap the licence fee. That applies to the rest of its networks like the Strictly presenters or Graham Norton etc etc
  17. I don’t really understand his logic here- because surely he cannot expect to be in the shop window for the bigger clubs by plying his trade in Turkey as opposed to us?!?! I rate him that much that I think he would get a good amount of minutes here- and tbh even if PEH is captain I think a Lemina at his best is better than the PEH equivalent. If he went Roma or any other top club within the top 4/5 leagues, fair enough. I can only think that with 2 years left on his contract next summer he will think it will be easier to leave- well it doesn’t matter what happens but I would like to think we would still want at least £18m next summer (which I still think is cheap), and clearly that valuation was still not met by anyone else this summer.
  18. I think where we went wrong was with our wage structure- had Carrillo/Elyounoussi been on even just 1/2 of what their wages are now then we wouldn’t be in such a mess. If said players don’t want to come here as a result of us giving them a low starting wage then screw them- plus it is not like £35/£40k a week is low anyway, compared to the £70-90k that some of these are on
  19. To be fair a good majority of people on here as well a lot of people I know knew that this guy would be a dud and was only brought in as a panic buy to support Pellegrino. It was only a select few that spouted his goals per minute record, and even then that was only in hope! The worst signing we have ever made and think we will ever make. At least Ali Dia only cost us a month’s wage (and a lower one at that!)
  20. £15 for an Under 11 in the Itchen South or Family stand

    Ryan Bertrand

I was sat right at the back end of block 10 today! He happened to be directly behind me in his box. Though I shouted his name he didn’t acknowledge me back- from his body language he looks like he wanted to be out there though, whenever something went wrong he had that vibe that he felt he could do better being on pitch than inside his cosy box. Also saw Djenepo sat in a box (very bizarrely on his own I thought), and Obafemi was with a friend in the boxes too. It was embarrassing watching a fair few ‘Saints’ fans fawning over Rio Ferdinand when he came out of his box which BT Sport was using (around Block 13/14)
  22. That is what it looks like based on our twitter postig, but could even be a 5 at the back with PEH left back who knows. Frustrating that we have no Redmond or Djenepo. Oh well- I’d take a draw now I think but we can win but everything has to fall our way for that!!!
  23. Not for the Portsmouth sc*mbags The last time the 60s and 70s boys have their final say eh- this fixture shouldn’t be played for another 5 years at least right. In all seriousness though it’s 2019, no one is gonna go out there for a scrap will be safe as any other games really- one would only expect more intimidating chants at worst- and that is how it should be
  24. On a friday night too in fact- adequate time to prepare for this one
  25. Will certainly be harder to get tickets than for Spurs away My guess is season ticket holders plus 9/10 aways minimum surely
