Genuine question - does anyone think that if we could sign a top player on a free, the club would smash any wage structure and pay them...say....£200k+ per week? Or do the club feel that this would upset the whole apple cart and so not entertain it? Even though ultimately they'd pay less over a few years without a transfer fee.

I'm not saying that doesn't happen, of course it does - player power is ridiculous these days. I'm just saying that in contract it's down to the club to decide on whether they can leave or not. With 3 years left, the club could just say "Hi Kyle, thanks for your transfer request. It's denied. Better get back to training eh?" Which if this issue has come up i'm hoping is what they'd say unless it's a ridiculous offer that the club can't turn down.

Must admit, I’ve always parked in or around Bedford Place on the road….never had a ticket although possibly by luck. Certainly Sundays and evenings it’s not a problem anyway.

The BBC (well, Ian Wright) were on about the lack of opportunity for girls to play football.....girls at my daughter's school (and other friends from all over Hampshire, so it's not isolated) have loads of options to play in after school clubs etc. Some is mixed, some is same sex.....it's becomingly really popular among young girls, but clearly it'll take a long time to get anywhere near the men's game. Certainly no barriers to playing that i can see, admittedly this is a Hampshire school perspective. I enjoyed the game last night (and i've been a bit sniffy about it i hate to admit) and the girls certainly look like they've been well drilled. As it were.

I’d like to know what RH supposedly did/is being blamed for with Broja. Asking a player to stick to his plan? Give 100% in training? Don’t act like a billy big balls? Let’s face it, the modern elite player (by and large) isn’t that keen on a strict disciplinarian….it would seem.

If this is actually the case, then absolutely fair play to us for doing the decent thing. If that's what he'd be worth without his club in financial turmoil of course.

which would be fine if we were coaching sprinters.... As for Moi, i thought he did OK last season - but i'm not sure on the principal of giving average squad players long term deals. I haven't checked when his contract expires but surely you'd give a squad player a 2-3 year deal rather than 4-5?

As it's been more prevalent recently.....i REALLY fcuking hate the stupid dance footballers do (even the women are doing it now) when they win a tournament/significant match. You know the one, jumping on the spot and waving each arm up and down. Oh, and the socks rolled up over the knees a la John Terry.
