1. Prefer that British fighter who fought in the Olympics for us.
2. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4411342/QPRS-Jamie-Mackie-eyed-for-1m-by-West-Ham-n-Southampton.html [h=3]QPR striker Jamie Mackie is at the centre of a tug of war between top-flight new-boys West Ham and Southampton.[/h] I don't think so, why another striker?
3. Totally agree, he wants to join us and I feel a 4m bid should wrap this one up.
4. Football cock-ups. No1. The Ted Bates statue.. I've decided to start a list of the biggest the cock-ups involving association football and there can't be that many bigger than the recent Southampton legend Ted Bates statue debacle. For those who don't know, Edric Thornton (Ted) Bates MBE made 216 appearances and scored 64 goals for the club, he also managed The Saints, taking them from the old Third Division South right up to the old first division (today's Premiership). He eventually went on to become the clubs managing director and was given the nickname of 'Mr Southampton'. Ted died in November 2003, and so in recognition for Ted's wonderful service and after months of hard work by the Ted Bates Trust and Southampton, the club unveiled a £112,000 bronze statue of Ted at the entrance to the St Mary's ground. The statue had taken Ian Brennan, sculptor and Saints fan, 18 months to complete, Ian worked on the statue seven days a week. All did not go down well though as the statue met with less than approving reviews, it was hopelessly out of proportion and to some fans, worst of all it looked like the Milan Mandaric, former chairman of deadly local rivals Portsmouth FC (it is said to be one of footballs most bitter rivalries). Eventually things got so bad that Southampton removed the statue but the good news is, they will replace it...
5. Some of the things you would add to the scrap book of Southampton Football Club. Southampton have pipped Manchester United to the top of the league - for the quality of their fans' singing.Research published on Monday reveals the south coast club has the most tuneful supporters. But Bolton Wanderers have matched their poor form on the pitch with duff notes on the terraces, to take last spot. Professor David Howard, from the University of York, studied recordings of crowds singing at every Premiership club.

Singing League

1. Southampton 2. Man Utd 3. Derby County 4. Newcastle 5. Liverpool 6. Charlton 7. Blackburn Rovers 8. West Ham United 9. Everton 10. Leicester City 11. Chelsea 12. Sunderland 13. Arsenal 14. Middlesbrough 15. Ipswich Town 16. Leeds United 17. Fulham 18. Aston Villa 19. Tottenham 20. Bolton Wands

He studied the "wall of sound" mustered up by fans to decide how in or out of tune they were. The best singers started their song at a low pitch to suit the range with which their voices were able to cope, he concluded. They did not try songs which required them to reach high notes. By comparing each club, Prof Howard found Southampton supporters stretched their voices the least.
6. If Brum have a transfer embargo then how do they get a replacement GK in as they sold Foster 2 days ago?
7. Totally agree, never had a problem with him and I never will as I will knock the **** outta him If I did
8. I suppose I'm referring to last season as I forgot we got promoted.:)I knew the max as Billy Sharp always said he would sign for Saints as he would play for 20k a week.
9. No way will we sell him, 4m is **** when the guy could be worth 20m in a couple of years time. Hes part of our vision for champions league so Cortese will have to fork out 8m+ to get a decent replacement that's British and special.
10. Totally agree, class player! I suppose money talks as he would be on at least 35k. This is why we won't sell Shaw as we could never find a quality left back anywhere on the 20k week max we are paying out.
11. I've seen him several times, reminds me of Mick Mills for his speed & Francis Benali for his skills! I suppose seeing him at Tesco's isn't what you are talking about?
12. I believe Cortese has got it all wrong, It's Barca we are chasing & then Spain next!
13. What is The9 going to talk about when the new shirt is revealed? Maybe a new thread on the 2013-2014 shirt perhaps.
14. According to a report Puncheon is heading to Blackpool, Is Ince lined up?
15. The collar is marmite as I said about 5 pages ago, not seen it at all but I was told its not like the mock up that Dan has it up with the thicker pin stripes.
16. What they have forgotten is that fans will want to buy the new shirt so thats an extra payment on top of a stupid £25 entry.
17. Totally agree, Can't see Arsenal with Theo, Oxy or RVP playing & with Rangers having half a team wanting out what's the point?
18. It's going to be the new trophy cabinet as Cortese wants to win everything. I personally would like some of it to be a museum with the history of the club.
19. My guess is De Bryne as Bailey knows The Chelsea manager well and he certainly won't get a look in the Chelsea first team this year.
20. Better be a keeper as Davis will be ****ed being the only decent one.
21. I've heard we will be playing each premiership team home & away over the course of the season, put a tenner on that!
22. Am I right that you only need a captain to help you win the toss? Knowing Adkins he will tell them you are all leaders on the pitch. (Art of war quote 613)
23. Maybe he was looking for a keeper?
