I lost my brother to lung cancer last year. When we were discussing funeral music, I thought about the old Holllies hit "He Ain't Heavy (He's My Brother)" but we got distracted on something else so I never suggested it. I was annoyed with myself later but, by then it was too late. A week or 2 later I was helping sort through his things and when we'd finished, I got into the car to go home, switched on the radio and this song started. It wasn't half way through or anything, it was as though they were waiting for me to turn the radio on. Obviously a coincidence, or was it?

Didn't he score in that snowy Monday night game against Liverpool? I think it was Alan Ball's first game in charge after the departure of Branfo*t.

Solent Sky, down by Ocean Village is also worth a visit. Doesn't look much from the outside but inside is a Sandringham flying boat that you can wander around, a Spitfire, a Supermarine S6A (Schneider Trophy) and a host of others. Loads of exhibits concerning the history of aviation in the Solent area. http://www.solentskymuseum.org/

Perhaps he's heard that Pete Waterfield's from Southampton and is hoping to get some lessons.

I'll bet his missus has got a big smile on her face this morning.

There is a bus.

The thing that always struck me about evening games was coming in off a dark wet Milton Road and always being surprised at how green the pitch looked under the lights. Other memories for the oldies: the Albion Band and that big canvas pocket thing that they carried round the pitch at half time for the crowd to throw coins into. And waiting for them to hang the half-time scores on the board between the West Stand and the Archers, then you had to look in the programme to decode them.

One of the best things about being short (I'm 5ft 7in) is being reasonably comfortable in Economy on a plane.

As the Tories are pretty much universally hated in Scotland, probably not a good idea for Cameron to start lecturing them.

If the Yes lot win, will you be Scottish on the basis of residency or of birth (or some combination of both)?

A long read but a good explanation of the cuplability of the Saudis and Qataris in the funding of ISIS. http://www.larouchepub.com/other/2014/4134wahhabi_terrs.html So, what action are we taking against them? Bug*er all because they might stop buying weapons from us. Morals have no place in politics.

Never happened when Cortese was in charge.

If you actually read the report, it appears that the "troops" ie the Child Protection Officers on the ground had flagged up these issues ages ago. It was their managers who did nothing and in one case completely suppressed a report. Many of these have since moved to senior posts in other Local Authorities and the then Council Leader is now the Police and Crime Commissioner and sees no reason why he should resign. The current Council leader did the decent thing and stepped down. What do Local Authority managers have to do to get sacked?

Pity he didn't go to Man Utd. Maybe Fergie would have kept him on the straight and narrow and he may have spent less time on the town in London with his "mates" Danny Baker and Chris Evans. Wonder where they are now when he really needs friends?

I found it pretty easy. Filled in the form online. As the other party decided not to contest it, I didn't need to attend and got all my money back. This was with a medium sized company for a relatively small sum so it probably wasn't worth their while to contest it. Often, just the threat of court action will make them see sense.

The Sale of Goods act specifies that an item must be "fit for purpose". If it was advertised with cruise control and it doesn't work then it's not fit for purpose. If he doesn't play ball, take him to the Small Claims Court. It's cheap and easy and, if you win, he'll be liable for your costs.

I walked round Southampton Common and picked 3lbs of blackberries.

What's loyalty got to do with it? He was an employee of a private company who got a better job offer from elsewhere. I'd do the same if offered a large wage increase and so would most people.

Five games?? I'm sure that, if we don't win by at least 3 goals on Sunday, there'll be some on here calling for him to go.

But they but loads of weapons from us so they must be OK (and they've got lots of oil).

Brian Hunt, who was a Director and Vice-President for a while, has died aged 80. He was the Club's builder when we were at The Dell and oversaw the various changes in the 80's and 90's. Also involved with the move to St Marys and the early development of Staplewood. There's a tribute on the Club website: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/07082014-brian-hunt-an-appreciation-1811857.aspx?

Yeah, coming towards the end of his career and deciding to do the best for his family. Very selfish.
