  1. good t see Poch talking to JWP
  2. exactly, going to away games was not the experience it is now. The Fa cup game away at Pompey, they dropped us off at the top of Goldsmith avenue and we were left to wander to the ground, not a sign of a Bobby. It was interesting and as for after the game lol.
  3. years of football violence, the recession took its toll.
  4. Today has the potential to be one of those FFS days
  5. I would have thought turning it 180 degrees down would be by far the best bet
  6. there still will be bad decisions. You watch game and the pundits cant decide. The favourite managers and teams will still get a rub of the green as it is human nature where people favour some more than others and in tight situations that will decide where the decision comes down
  7. I see what you are saying, but it was a relief to a degree that we went toe to toe against a very good side. Yes you are right that we had the same old result, but playing like that does give a bit of extra hope we can push on. Its whether the team can play well in the not so glamorous games. This season is like last season as we need to survive and now have a manager with a plan,
  8. I think you will find that they were happy with their own performance and the great backing by the away support. Whilst we lost suspect you also may have felt that we would lose by at least 2 goals. It was a moral victory and whilst we got zero points, there maybe a togetherness and determination to push on. Time will tell but hopefully we can get the points needed to go up a few places.
  9. was Atwell the linesman who didnt give us the gol in the cup final against them??
  10. Lol, you would go for JWP if he hadnyt played for a year
  11. A no-deal Brexit, meanwhile, would see Britain falling back to the status of a third country under the rules of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).This would push up British import tariffs for German cars to roughly 10 percent. For trucks and pick-ups, tariffs of up to 22 percent would apply. Customs inspections at ports and borders are likely to disrupt just-in-time delivery chains."A no-deal scenario would be serious and entail significant risks for companies and employees in the EU-27," a VDA spokesman said. "Massive impairments in logistics and high customs costs would be the result."Germany, which barely avoided a recession last year, is especially vulnerable to both the risks of U.S. tariffs of up to 25 percent on cars and Britain sliding out of the EU on March 29 without a deal to govern future trade relations with the bloc.Exports make up nearly half of its economic output and cars are by far its main export with annual sales worth 230 billion euros ($263 billion), data from the Federal Statistics Office showed. The most important export destination for German cars last year was the United States with revenues of 27.2 billion euros, followed by China with 24.7 billion euros and Britain with 22.5 billion euros, the data showed.. This is why we cant take No deal off the table, as the Germans will fear no deal as much as we do. It is a negotiating tool. No side will want that and so to bin it would give the EU (under pressure from Germany) a lee -way and bonus in the negotiations
  12. probably, but it is easier to tap them up through a mate ,rather than other channels
  13. Mixing withplayers from Liverpool, Man U, Spurs etc will be another way to turn their heads
  14. ...
  15. I think its a bit disrespectful to say you are surprised he made the PL. He has been hampered by some bad injuries that really has stopped him showing his real potential. I hope Ralph has upped his fitness and he did look a tad quicker. Ted McDougal couldn't trap , pass , or tackle but he was a goalscorer and his other inabilities didnt stop him being a top striker for us. Having Phil Boyer alongside him did help of course. Frankly we need him to up his game and if he could score 5 goals from now, he will be priceless
  16. I have only watched the 30 minute highlights on Sky, but it seems to me that Charlie is fitterand sharper than he was. He did one or 2 decent touches and he was prettysharp getting in front of the defender when Bertrands cross came across the box. Okhe didnt quite get there but he got in fromnt of the defender. Good sign IMO
  17. Havent you yet realised that so many football fans are solid bone from the neck up
  18. You have come back Mack, have you been away somewhere or the peg factory doing overtime? Enjoy your trip to Wembley, and we wont mention your sneers at the Paintpot trophy you used to make. Oh and I saw the dive your lad made leading to your first goal, shameful bit of cheating.
  19. I have looked through the posts and that a lot say we were poor , but what nobody seems to have taken into account was that the team were under extreme mental pressure. They have messed up so many times and this was the biggest must win since Swansea last season. You cant expect free flowing football with that on y0ur shoulders. I notice Mosin mentioned that JWP is on 45k a week and he is the 15th highest paid at the club, how could we be so stupid to pay those contracts. Sir Les and co , are they buffoons of the highest order or were there more sinister reasons? That is the reason we cant buy players in, why we had to let Gab and Cedric go on loan I suspect. The finances must be under a massive strain.
  20. fair comment, but I dont count JWP or Matt Targett really as youngsters. Stephens was bought not a graduate
  21. Agree with what you say. I have no problem having academy kids in the squad if they are good enough, but sadly it seems they are not. It is criminal how Les or whoever gave out those contracts. If players only want to join us if we pay well over the odds they aren't for us anyway. The long contracts will burden us for a few years and the few good buys we had, we wasted the proceeds on too many mid range players who are never going to put us up a level
  22. The Championship IF we are doing well holds no fears for me either, proper football that reminds me more of the game when I was growing up. The vanity of being in the PL is only vanity, we had a few seasons where we looked pretty good and we rode the wave, sadly Sir Les influence still hangs over the club and we have a squad similar to when we went down before. Lots of middle range players who have straw hearts. It is not only annoying that Les kept his gravy train working here for so long, (a person in life who gets a good job and you dont know why. IMO he has the art of making himself look better than he is and ingratiates to the right people) Now he is at the FA, there goes our improvement. Leicester has a poisoned hanging room, they got rid of the manager who helped them win the title FFS. Chelsea the same. Puel is obviously not a great man manager, but we have tried that and where did that get us. Modern young footballers are just getting worse, and that is some of the reason I rarely go now. SFC is deep in my soul but that doesn't mean I worship every thing that goes with it.
  23. Well if we are languishing in the Championship next season you will have time to dwell on finishing 7th and getting to a cup final. You can snipe, but at the end of the day, the manager was only given a season, and not able to buy players in.He has been sacked by Leicester (a squad who like Chelsea are poison) but they are not in the relegation places and have the start of a decent squad again. Now Rodgers is now there he will bring them on again Iam not unhappy with Ralph, and will support him, we already have fans starting to doubt him, it is ludicrous.
  24. Looking at the fixtures now it seems to me that it is only us or Cardiff. Brighton will get enough from their games , Newcastle and Palace will walk safety.
