  1. His wife thinks a lumberjack is better than him
  2. Considering the forward started well behind him, it shows he was not moving toward the ball but waiting. If he had moved to the ball he would not have needed to dive forward but head away. The forward would have have not got near it. You can try and defend Walker (better than he can)but he was at fault. I do concede that he should have had a call of 'man on' which may have got him to move a bit sooner
  3. if he moved forward he could have kicked it. All tournament he was sow on the ball and got caught a few times. He is not a entre back and so was bound to make mistakes
  4. I also suggest that many will be calling for Southgates head in18-24months time. At the moment he is a hero. Some of his decisions would be questioned more had he not have the honeymoon period at present.
  5. IMO Walker was at fault as he waited for the ball rather than moving toward it. He was making quite a few edgy mistakes before that as well
  6. I'm not sure what we can do. So we have a nation with massive national debt, we want more Police, more money for the NHS, more for schools, more libraries, more for defence, re-nationalisation of the Railways and Utilities how are we going to get there??? I don't feel right to borrow more for my grandchildren to have to pay back. You have to cut your cloth accordingly, and we only have so much to go around. Forget not every civil servant , Nurse, Policeman etc is another massive pension and all that comes with it to pay for. It is a dilemna
  7. I hadn't seen the BBC report just the Evening Standard piece.Still an horrific attack. If it was a 16year old boy and 15 year old girl, that is a pretty scarry reflection on the state of societySir Christopher is an outspoken presence on social media, and has called for Britain to engage with Mr Trump rather than turn its back on him.He served as British ambassador to the US from 1997 to 2003, coinciding with events including 9/11 and the preparation for the war in Iraq.Lady Meyer added: "At first I thought that the attack was politically motivated. He is opinionated, and sometimes people have different opinions, but the police told me they believe that it is more likely that they might have wanted to rob him."
  8. If we had a ref who had been less lenient he would have booked Lovren and Resic earlier. They then would have been on a tightrope. Overall Croatia deserved to win, but they got into that position due to our shortfalls.
  9. that is horrific, at first I thought it was a still from Silence of the Lambs. I see they are saying this attack is now being put down as a robbery, but the level of violence strikes me as an attack of blind hatred. No doubt the powers that be want it to be seen as random
  10. its always down to the Tories. Please tell what percentage of the Police actually walk the streets now or ever?? IMO it is that as we get a larger mix of people throughout the world coming into our country who do not respect the Police, or our law we will only get more violent crime. Police on the streets will not get a drop in violence, it just makes us feel safer. A Bobby walking on the beat is unlikely to be in the right place at the right time.
  11. Knowing he was on the winning side made last night even worse. Apparently he waited at the tunnel to hug every England player as they went down the tunnel. Smug git
  12. probably as its about a dead club
  13. A bit harsh. IMO we should have kept Sterling on and taken Dele and Jesse off and put midfielders on to flood the midfield. Delph would have as much creativity as either of those two.Dier (who is not my favourite player) could have helped add some physical play to stem their midfield. The ref only booked players for throwing the ball away etc,he didn't for some poor challenges by Redic(?) and Lovren. We were leading and creating very little except for Sterlings pace. Pickford's distribution was awry and so the ball kept coming back at us. I was very calm in the lead up to the game and expected us to win, and very surprised that we didn't have the victory I expected. There is a very hollow feeling today and hopefully we get over this quickly. I doubt we will ever get to see England in a final as this was probably the best chance any of those young players will ever get of getting there. A second goal would have finished Croatia off, but it was not to be. I assume Kane was carrying an injury? Young should also have been taken off earlier as he was off the pace from the start.
  14. Id get rid of CA. He is so slow now, it seems to me he is worried that his hamstring is likely to go everytime he goes on a sprint/jog
  15. I don't think he would fit in our dressing room, what with him flashing all the medals he won leaving us....... Funnily enough I think we had more Wembley club appearances while he was at scouseland than he did
  16. Boris gone as he can see his chance for being leader. Gove come out in support of May to cosy up to the Remainers in the party. God what with Salisbury things are pretty depressing at the moment. Thank heavens for the football
  17. David Davies left as he knows whoever signs off Brexit will go down in history as a terrible politician. He can go back to the back benches and snipe. We have no hope while the politicians are not united. The Eu have not broken ranks and so they have kept a strong bargaining position Our MP's are just interested in their own power rather than what is best for the country
  18. Well I wouldn't celebrate as Jeremy will love to take all you have once he comes to power. All those Tory voters who bragged that they joined the Labour party to vote for Corbyn is really backfiring. The whole Brexit deal should have been done under a coalition as in wartime, because as far as I'm concerned this is the biggest decision our nation has faced since the start of WWII. The Brexiteers should be confident enough for us to have a second vote, but this time there should be a 10% margin if not the last result would stand. They could then have the moral high ground and the remainers would have to accept the result.
  19. OK, thanks I hadn't seen that
  20. ho ho ho, yeah very funny. A duck was found dead early on after the first attack. Perhaps as a precaution they were taken and destroyed. As I have a business close to Salisbury it is a serious event, and with the Wiltshire Chief Inspector now warning that they could not rule out more people getting infected. Salisbury is/was a beautiful City and to see a park where Constable painted his famous view of the Cathedral shut down for a long period, is pretty sad. Another nonsense in this saga is that 4 buses that these last 2 victims MAY have travelled on were impounded. They used bus drivers to go and collect them to bring them back, without any protection or special clothing.
  21. You need to chill out a bit. There are 2 ways at looking at things. I am a remainer but accept that it is not all going to be bad. As for you comment f### business just shows you need to wise up. No business no jobs, no exports, no NHS no future. The nation makes its income from business not just the government borrowing money.
  22. The word in Salisbury that I have heard in the last few hours is that she used to go around collecting fag butts and may have just lit up one of those. Also the police are dredging the river by the bench. I assume just in case there is anything lurking in the undergrowth. It was strange that all the ducks and swans disappeared, there are not as many there now
  23. Is it just me who feels royalties are a bit wrong. These people are getting paid time and again for the same days work, a lot of people get one hit record and can live off that for ever. The same goes for artists and then their descendants who can get paid 4% of the resale of any picture that is sold in the future. Its like a plumber getting paid each time you flush the toilet
  24. did you read the article in the Telegraph the other day where it showed whether we stay in the EU or not, the car industry is going to shed half the workforce and its supply chain due to electric cars? A lot less parts and far less to people needed to manufacture. We are going through the 2nd major industrial revolution and it isn't pretty. Roll on 10 years and the high street will be like the ice makinh companies of the 30's before the fridge became a household appliance. Unless we get a major change in consumer buying it is finished (High St) Take heed all you internet shoppers who are trying to save tenners here and there, once the High Street is gone the prices on the internet will soar and you will be worse off. Yes if you spend real time searching you would still get a better price but in the main after the first 3 pages, most will give up and buy from there.
