  1. I enjoyed ever aspect of Rickie at the club. He was our goal machine, our talisman, our charm. When he came to su he was a fat 1m stricker, fresh out of the Branstons factory according to the press, and helped turn us around and get us back to the top. And when he did that he got picked for England,"Cause they though they should", and gave him a few minutes on the pitch, "cause it can't hurt, and he cant do no damage at this stage, with 20 minutes to go." and went out and scored a fantastic goal, with his head to announce his entrance on the international stage. When you went we didn't begrudge you for your dream move to your dream team, missed you though. Now you are retiring we wish to wish you all the best, and hope you have a happy retirement and every success in your follow up career.....................As attacking and penalty coach at Southampton Football club? We could do worse and we could really do with his help.
  2. The only problem I have is that why would we buy a striker who can't score goals, when our problem is we can't score goals? Might thrive here I suppose but could also be another case of expensive non-performer in our set up.
  3. Went through to round 3, with Steve Pemberton knocked out, but lost to some bird from loose women(Andrea McLean) by 1 token, £100 in their money. So close but no cigar
  4. Yeh, you and thirty thousand others!!!!!!! Wish I could go as it'll be a good match I think, better if we play like 2nd half of the Manure game.
  5. I keep having this cringeworthy thought. Gao: Ah, we have scored a goal. This is most joyus, Katatrinaaa. KL: No, sorry, Mr Gao. That is Manchester United that have scored. We are the other team. Gao: What, the ones in the glorious Red of the revolution, and the white of the innocence of youth? KL: Umm, yes that is us. Gao: *@*£"$&&*^^ KL: Err, Nelly, what did your father say? Nelly: My father says "Rat Cocks" and perhaps we should execute their trainer. Sorry, i'll get my coat. Glad to see them there though, shows we are more than a passing fancy, (I hope) and perhaps he may, after executing their trainer, give over some wedge for a new striker.
  6. Hey. Steady now. I remember Rafiques as the only place with milk on Xmas day and open all hours before the big boys did it. big saints fan as well. He's probably worth a few quid now so could sponsor something.....
  7. Not in the egg and spoon race I though:lol::Lol: I can't be serious this morning.
  8. Oooh, Irony. Yes I remember that. Nooooo, Irony left years ago, having found itself marginalised and left wanting in a corner, having been overtaken by an influx of cynocism, confusion, anger, bile and hatred, not to forget the overwhelming mind reading, innuenmdo, rumour and assumption that is displayed as fact. If I remember correctly, irony also stopped a number of posters from posting. No, sorry, Irony has no home here. Loathing however, that's another story:lol: Back on topic though, I confess I did like him when he was here, but the sour taste in the mouth when he left, and how he left, still grates with me now, so NO, no home for him here any more. I think he'll [probably be off before the end of the season anyway, as this season thay might find him wanting in the manager department.
  9. Oh, FFS. Knew this would happen. Tossbags.
  10. Ahhhh. We need to take a bit more time on the ball. To much quick pass, and no thought or vision. Mind you, more exciting to watch, and I am hopeful as well. COYR.
  11. What no thread? I'll start one. Come on you Saints. Lets see a good display, put the past behind, and give us some goals. Kind regards SSA
  12. Hey, I'm in.
  13. Well Done, I wish I had done this. Kudos, Sir,Kudos
  14. If you read my post it says they are calling that where I am, (or was working) which was Chain Bar in Manchester, not where I am from. Personally wish I hadn't included that but was a bit of site office banter during August.
  15. I come from Southampton. You? Where do you come from? And why do you want to know? and what bearing has it on this thread? and why do you find it strange?
  16. I would just like to point out that here:https://twitter.com/SouthamptonFC/st...31938702893060, is not only VVD scoring a big one in training, but it alos have Mr Bertrand with a nice grin on his face.........perhaps Charlie is right.
  17. I just want to sound you all out on the following. Having had the VVD affair, or VanDammGate as they are calling it where I am, I was wondering in a conversation about VVD and Bertrand, (and after responding to a post on here) about Bertrand. Despite not being happy, do you think that he might 'want away' to a big club and have the same mind set as VVD? I question this, because he came to us from Chelsea, where he spent most of his time on loan or having a few minutes off the bench. Also his England career was a little hit and miss. I just wonder if, unlike VVD, he would be a bit more shrewed about m9oving to a bigger team for a bigger wage, but is reluctant due to concerns he'll end up on the bench again? He has flourished with us and is playing regularly, so why make such a rash move? Wont say he will be here forever, and I do expect him to be swallowed up by a bigger boy, (NOT Liverpool though), but just wonder if this is one of his dilemmas. Over to you and what you think, and this does include those that will respond with their idiotic one liners, and those that will take a tangent and get onto other things, plus those that will just moan about other posters.
  18. The inherent fault lies with the fact that an agent gets a large pay day when a player moves, so has no real incentive for the player to stay apart from a minor retainer and a chunk of any advertising or endorsement deals that they arrange. And they can be persuasive, even if you think you are happy where you are. So, no, don't agree with the 26 year old man who makes up his own mind, as if he is given a green and pleasant land, he may well plump for it.
  19. Who? Danny Butterfield? I don't even think he's registered, let alone able to sit on the bench
  20. Why? Why turbulant?
  21. Your three posts out. AK and I are in agreement. Knickers untwisted but question still lingers.
  22. Sheesh?Sheesh? Who are you Richie Cunningham? Sheesh. A ffs I could deal with,or a talking ****e.
  23. To me I think the owner needs more time but he will either be really really good for the club or really really bad. I can't see a Leibherr middle ground tbh. But we have a good foundation and things have started to change so we'll see.
  24. And chelsea, and elseware and nowhere. Thanks for the Wind Up:lol:
  25. Bournemouth Airport less than an hour drive from the Saints’ stadium Not forgetting Southampton airport which is 5 minutes from the stadium. And trust me, he wasn't at Hearn, never has been and probably never will be in the next week. And I had to check with the man on the doors for this.
