Yes, referring to “Janny B” was the final straw
-
He could arguably plead a bit of mitigation with injuries since the QPR game - however if he doesn’t start with THB, Bednarek at CB and Charles, Downes at CM today then he can leave.
-
Baz, KWP, THB, Bed, Manning, Downes, Charles, Alcaraz, Edozie, Adams, A N Other (take your pick, they’re all crap).
-
Hmm personally I expected us to struggle, it’s 5 years of funk to shake off and that wouldn’t change overnight. Didn’t expect this level of kamikaze football / mistakes though.
-
Maybe the hope being beaten out of the fans, might lower expectations and take a bit of pressure off. Surely no-one believes we’ve got a chance of going up this year now. Got to have a settled team - Baz, THB, Bednarek, KWP, Charles (in fcking midfield), Downes, Alcaraz, Sulemana, Edozie, Stewart (when fit) need to play every week. Larios can’t be as bad as Manning surely?
-
Well there’s usually one team of the relegated three that is a car crash, think we can safely confirm who that is this year. Hello Watford, Stoke, Huddersfield, Swansea, Cardiff - you’ve got a new friend here to stay.
-
I guess I’m classed as a Martin apologist, but that was a step too far tonight. Utterly suicidal and shambolic tactics. This lot can’t play how he wants. Not sure there are many teams that can, we are not City. You have to cut your cloth accordingly. I have never in my life seen in professional football a 3 on 0 before 70mins. Or 3 goals conceded after basically one misplaced pass. Utter incompetence.

Of course it’s ok to have doubts, it’s certainly not perfect at the moment and lots of room for improvement. My comment was aimed at the “hope I’m proved wrong” brigade, who are writing off the manager after 5 league games (after which we have 10 points btw), despite a major overhaul of players, staff and style of play. If people have come to that ‘conclusion’ this quickly, then it’s pretty clear that you didn’t want him in the first place. Who knows if he’ll turn out to be the one, but 5 games isn’t anywhere near long enough to tell.
-
Quite easy to spot the posters who never wanted Martin in the first place.
-
That 100% should be the team.

Went for a cautious 7, I gave last years an 8 (I think) so once bitten twice shy. If we could have shifted Djenepo, Tall Paul and ABK permanently it would have been an 8. Still time for TP and MD to head to Turkey. Some serious competition for Bazunu and shifting AM would have been a 9.5. Being greedy, another wide player would have made it a 10. Still not convinced Sulemana will try all that much and/or end up in Saudi by end of next week, which means we’re still a tad short, relying on SAA too much IMO.
-
Odds on us not getting a wide man in, based on Sulemana staying - but then Saudi club buys him for £30m next week?
-
Perhaps we did, but then when he’s had his medical what we’ve been told and what the reality is have been quite different..?
-
Haha brilliant. I thought maybe he’d seen the Che deal had cancelled and assumed this would effect the Stewart deal, but doesn’t seem so.
-
Fair points, will he knuckle down though? Can’t see it personally. I like the team spirit RM seems to have built so far, don’t want half arsed players ruining that.
-
Sulemana is pointless keeping, clearly doesn’t want to be here and hasn’t bothered making himself available so far.
-
-
Genk and/or Paintsil sound like a complete bunch of time wasters. So the deal was agreed between clubs before, but it fell down because of a loyalty bonus disagreement between player and Genk, but now it’s collapsed because our terms don’t suit Genk? Smells like rubbish to me.
-
Hope he stays, would be completely unexpected. If he somehow does, would like to see him step up a bit more - he’s been solid so far defensively, but still feel he’s playing within himself at the moment. If we can get him firing going forward it will add another dimension to us.
-
This, he’ll be offski. Perhaps Wood is off as we haven’t banked money for ABK so letting him go on loan, hence only a loan for THB.
-
So Stephens (who has to start when fit as captain), Bednarek, Holgate and THB, jeez that’s a tough one to pick two from. Suspect we’ll let ABK go on loan.
-
I’m more excited at the prospect of Tall Paul leaving than Paintsil coming in.
-
Fair point, it is a forum that contains a number of whoppers, so shouldn’t be a surprise.
