Absolute b*llox.

Defensive midfield for me. Lacking in depth and quality. We are weak at CB, but with the sheer number we have we can’t justify buying another one until we’ve shifted Hoedt, Stephens and possibly one more, which isn’t going to happen in January. Plus a quality DM will help take the pressure off the defence anyway.
-
Parallels to last season, in that our first win was 2-0 away, in a game we didn’t play well and probably shouldn’t have won, with a goal in stoppage time to seal it. Just hope the rest of the season doesn’t pan out the same.

Richard Kitzbichler - new Asst Coach

He does the video analysis, which I believe is what Rohl was credited for before he went. -
The denial by Liverpool fans in that twitter thread is hilarious - one of them has used the justification of "loads of people thought Hitler didn't die... doesn't mean it's right." What a bunch of whoppers.
-
Whoever is in goal will have nowt to do anyway, they should still comfortably beat us. They have played two games this season, they’re hardly going to be tired.
-
Not sure our midfield will be quite up to the standard of Chelsea’s tbh to exploit it

I think we had banked on selling Lemina in the window, as one of our few 'saleable' assets. If we'd have sold him, I reckon we'd have seen a new DM come in. As it is, we'll probably end up loaning Lemina out, which leaves ourselves glaringly weak in DM/CM. I was in the 'a new DM is arguably a more pressing need than a CB' camp during the window, and I still think this (even after the Burnley defensive shambles).

On the basis that Koeman never played 4-3-3, I would guess he wouldn't. Puel played 4-3-3
-
I think he's still smarting that our Austrian youth team prospect (who it better than Upamecano, despite never playing a senior game for us) is further down the pecking order.
-
Imagine Ralph will make the same move at the end of the season too.
-
Seems a weird one

27 DM from Maritimo, hmmmm
-
You think Ings will make it to 90mins?
-
Or do the correct thing and drop Ings - Redmond, Boufal and Adams down the middle
-
Is it the end of the window yet? Agree with all your sentiments, if the situation is still the same on 9th August.
-
Same. Though I’m sure they said at point of purchase that they wouldn’t be sent until after Liverpool game, as that game wasn’t included within the membership

Callum Slattery - Official: Signs for Motherwell
ErwinK1961 replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
I think conclusions were jumped to based on the rumour that a ‘rising star’ came back unfit. If that was indeed true, based on the fact he didn’t go to Austria and is still absent from squad lists (though he may be in Dublin?), I’d say a likelier candidate is Kayne Ramsay. -
Is a player, who regularly plays for a top bundesliga side, played in the Champions League, touted as one of the best young defenders in Europe, better than a lad who hasn’t played a minute of competitive first team football for us? I’m going to go with yes he is.
-
No idea on team or scorers, but assume a few of the missing first teamers from today were involved. Sounds like Brentford had a strong team
-
Apparently played Brentford in a behind closed doors friendly yesterday and won 3-0.

Best we can hope for is a subsidised loan move. He isn't going to take a pay cut, no other club will offer him the same wage on top of a transfer fee. Try and get some of his wage off the bill this year and cut ties next year. If there is an option out there for him for a 'longer term' contract, he'd be mad not to take it. He won't get that sort of security in 12 months time - not that he needs the money of course.
-
Probably. But we wont be signing Bowen.
