This - only way I could see him being let go is if Everton sign someone else, and even then it would probably be a deadline day loan move until the end of the season.

According to Adam Leitch on the Total Saints Pod, he reckoned that Ralph was quite keen to have a look at him now he's back from injury. So unless that info is completely duff, I'd be surprised if he's allowed to go.

My favourite line... "as well as the likes of Jack Stephens, Maya Yoshida, Jan Bednarek and Florin Gardos."

Worked out two different formula's Will be loaned out with no obligation to buy and he'll be back here at the start of next season. -
A lot of wedge for someone who has done next to nothing in the Premier League.

Well just a wild stab in the dark, but maybe... just maybe... he thinks we would actually replace them?
-
Agree - though I don't know who realistically would sign him. None of the big boys need a keeper, unless they want an expensive English back up for home grown quota.
-
I agree with you. I also don't think he communicates that great with the defence - not in anyway blaming him for the dross in front of him, but there were a couple of times in the Utd game where he could have shouted to a defender to head/chest it back to him but he didn't talk and defender ended up hoofing it out of play. Probably not an urgent issue though to be fair, need a decent defence first.

First managerial appointment that's felt 'right' to me since Koeman. Good luck Ralph, still got a lot to do to keep us up

No, it's true.

Well at least that's a positive for us next year..!

Drowning in ectoplasm somewhere.

Well if he’s true to form, expect someone’s whose coaching at Dortmund to be our new manager

It's a start. Still a few more need to go before I'll get too excited. I'm with Noodles as well.. if Paul Mitchell is available and wants to come, get it done!

Agree with this. This is three seasons in a row we've had players going through the motions, not giving it everything and generally just being a bit sh*t. Whilst all three managers no doubt had/have their faults, for me the buck stops with the players. It's been said that Hughes is unapproachable and takes a back seat at training... I'm fairly sure Puel/Pellegrino were approachable and did get involved on the training pitch - didn't make the blindest bit of difference though did it. Doesn't help that there's not really any likeable ones left (PEH & Ings aside) - and as for Hoedt saying Hughes' defensive coaching is poor.... who the f*ck is he kidding! You can't polish a turd Wesley, and you are one of the biggest festering stumps I've seen.

Mirrors my thoughts. Not one of them I'd be gutted to see leave.

Don't think Hughes is playing him in a position currently that will get the best out of him. Right midfield in a 4-4-2 I think limits him as a player. I'd like to see him have more licence to attack, rather than have an eye on defending all the time. But that would require changing the formation, which I'm not sure Hughes wants to do. Something like a 4-2-3-1, with the three being Redmond, Armstrong and Moi behind Ings. Signing him in the first place doesn't make sense if you're going to just stick him RM. If we're going to carry on playing 4-4-2, might as well play JWP there as it is probably the only position on the pitch that would suit him.

You're probably better off not being able to see anything, to be honest.
-
The first contract extension after Koeman left wasn't an issue - it was the subsequent one after his poor season after Puel that made absolutely no sense whatsoever.
-
It was a blatant and stupid dive. Complete moron who clearly didn't have any belief he would score. The only thing more stupid was the crowd giving him a standing ovation. The guy just cost us any chance of winning the game and you're applauding him off FFS.

At least he say's the right things and identifies the obvious problems (which is a step up on the previous regime) - just need to see it in action now. Cheers Batman for the summary.
