  1. I’d say it’s a very high possibility that we are going to be relegated and IMO it has been entirely unavoidable. For the first time we have have spent significant amounts of money in 2 transfer windows (we will spend more this window) and it’s been focused on purely youth and sell on, without selling keys players. If they would have approached this with a good mixture and an experienced keeper in particular, then I don’t think we would be odds on to go down. Ralph should have have gone in the Summer and replaced with a much better candidate than we currently have. Poor strategy and recruitment will likely see us relegated and totally unavoidable.
  2. Bazunu is worse than Angus Gunn. I was praying he was going to go off injured. He’s out his depth like the manager and will cost us even more points throughout the season. A major factor in us probably getting relegated. He’s kept one premier league clean sheet all season and tried to throw that away too.
  3. That was quite frankly an appalling home performance. absolute dross. No possession, no chances and I lost count the amount of times Diallo gave the ball away in the midfield today. Stupid fouls that eventually resulted in their goal. I was still Jones out after last weekend and that has just cemented that opinion. He’s absolutely clueless. How Alcarez didn’t start over Diallo is beyond me, plus orsic is the only international quality forward we have an he’s puts him on in the last 8 mins. Bazunu is Sunday league and needs to be dropped asap
  4. Fantastic result and performance. JWP best position is where he played today and similar when we played against Chelsea and won. DCC is what we need at centre back, he is strong and composed. I’ve given Bazunu a lot of stick and rightly so IMO, but that was his best performance for us. Lavia is such a good player. Massively missed him. Schooled Phillips. Still find Jones’ interviews bizarre. Maybe he needs media training, as he is hard to warm to. Wins will obviously help that. Massive game Saturday. New signings and more to come and we may now have a chance if we play like tonight.
  5. Not pretty, but a win nonetheless. Glad he started with a 4, but start like that against city and it will be an embarrassment. Still not convinced, Everton is the true test. Might give away my ticket more often
  6. 3 at the back yet again. This guy really is an absolute clown. Lyanco is the same level as Jones, which is probably why he likes him. Red card for lyanco today and Bazunu mistake. Thank god I gave away my ticket today
  7. Yeah, I think there was. That day we were awful and had Rolser upfront. Now we have Long
  8. Best attacking display for a long time and no coincidence with Ings and Walcott back. I know Walcott sometimes frustrates with the final pass or finish, but we are so much better with him in the side. Redmond played well again too. Defensively though, we were awful. Bednarek was dreadful and couldn't cope with Wood, KWP was poor and made Pieters look like peak Roberto Carlos. We really miss Romeu in those games, as their centre mids bullied Diallo for most of that first half. Way more positives that negatives though and we can start to look upwards and build confidence for a winnable semi final. COYR.
  9. Sunday is another massive game and I hope resting so many players pays off. If we win on Sunday then we will be ok and start looking upwards instead of nervously looking over our shoulder. If we lose on Sunday, then we are right in the mix for relegation. Fulham have been on a charge since we played them over the Christmas period and I would say they would stay up. If Newcastle have no forwards and look goal shy (even though they beat us) and Brighton play well and lose most game with their right back being their best player too in Lampety. Burnley will always get out of trouble.
  10. As long as we don't get battered, get injuries or suspensions and have some confidence going into the Brighton game, I think that is all we can hope for. With Ralph saying he will rotate, City losing Sunday and having a fully fit squad to choose from, I can't see us getting anything at all. If only Puel was back for this game only to bore the opposition out of trying and scraping a 1-1 or 0-0.
  11. He's going to be out for a few weeks and hopefully in that time we can secure points to be clear of any relegation fears. It is obvious to me that he will be off in the Summer and I would mirror the action we took with Hojberg last season and stop playing him and plan for next season without them. He has been pretty useless (as have most of the players) in 2021 and the goals have been shared around more this season. Get a good price for him and buy a decent replacement. I Wouldn't be suprised if some teams are put off by him though, with recent injury niggles and that fact he is almost 30. I quite like the combination of Armstrong, Tella, Minamino and Adams switching positions and causing the opposition problems. Time for Adams to stake a claim as the main striker for next season too.
  12. Ralph cannot and should not be immune to a bashing from fans, this run of form is horrendous and any other manager in charge and the vast majority would be calling for his head. Our full backs are a big part of how he wants to play, especially when he has no plan B. Why on earth does he keep playing Bednarek there? He should have changed it at half time and put Djenepo out there and Tella in front of him. Bednarek as a right back is like playing with 10 men. Redmond is god damn awful, it is painful and laughable to watch. He is sooooooooooooo weak and can't beat a man, he is pointless. What is more alarming is Everton played the whole game in 2nd gear and looked so comfortable until the last 10 mins. Sheffield United is such a big game, Lose and the what confidence we have is gone and you have to wonder about Ralph in charge.
  13. Lampard looks like an apprentice candidate. A real bitchy one who works in recruitment.
  14. I am not in the know at all, but this reeks of Daniel Levy to me. You may say that Spurs don't need Ings, but I don't agree. Spurs clearly wanted him in the Summer and with Kane playing a deeper role and does have the odd long term injury, it makes perfect sense that Spurs would want Ings. You will all say "why would he go to sit on the bench", that is rubbish too. Ings obviously backs himself and whether you like Jose or not, he has the manager wow factor and players will want to play for him. If you also don't think Ings has spoken to Hojbjeg, then you are deluded. Players speak to each other and Ings has no loyalty to us at all. I think this is a Levy tactic to pick up Ings on the cheap in the Summer, no way saints will let him go for a free.
  15. Immense performance last night. Only saints fans will know that we had more first team players out yesterday than Liverpool, but this will not make the national news and instead focus on Liverpool. Diallo MOM for me, but Stephens and KWP were superb. I've given Bertrand a but of stick recently, but he kept Salah quiet all evening. If Ings had have made that cross to Walcott mid way through the first half, then with that build up play it would be have been the goal of the season. So impressed with how calm we are in the build up and then increase the intensity to attack. So pleased for Ralph too. Up the saints.
  16. I think Bertrand needs replacing. It seems he can only play well when we have an in form Redmond, who is the most inconsistent player in our squad. KWP seems to play at the same level irrespective of who plays in front of him. If KWP could have a word word with his best mate Dele Ali, I think he would be a great loan in the wide no 10 roles in our system. That won't happen though, so we should go all out for Brandon Williams IMO.
  17. The left hand side has been redundant the last two games. Bertrand can't beat a man or put in a decent delivery and opposition teams know our only threat is the switch to KWP or between the lines. Stephens attempted this a few times yesterday, but not to the same level of Vestergaard. Bertrand and Redmond have a good understanding, but when Redmond is out injured or not starting there is no fluidity down that flank. I really hope we can get Brandon Williams in on loan to either improve Bertrand's performances or have the same impact KWP did towards the latter stages of last season. As many people have said, we would have lost that game last season, so that is a positive.
  18. Best chance we are going to get to break the duck of winning there. Being annoyed with a draw away to Arsenal, feels different to the one last season. We should have won and they were there for the taking. Walcott was taken off far too early and was our most dangerous player IMO.
  19. I think Martin Semmens has backed up my opinion and his is not even a debate. Alex Crook doesn't know anymore than you or I, end of story.
  20. I am not just judging him on that, he basically goes off twitter rumours.
  21. I will believe this when trusted sources like Adam Blackmore suggest they are close to signing. No offence to Alex Crook, but he said Tom Davies was close to signing........... Perhaps when Ings went off injured against Villa, it made him have assess his situation more? Luckily it wasn't a bad injury, but he may want one last shot at a "big club", as it could have been a lot worse and another serious injury. I have a feeling he will sign a contract, but all that means is we can command a higher fee anyway.
  22. There is no loyalty in football, the sooner fans realise that the better. Being a saints fans, we should know that as much as anyone. It doesn't matter if he is from the area, if Spurs coming knocking and matched our valuation he would be off in a shot. Luckily it is Ralph coming out in the press, if it was good old Les Reed it would mean he is off for sure.
  23. Great read. Pretty much means if you are a young player out on loan, you don't have a future at the club. I get the logic too, why send a player to a league 2 club that plays a completely different style to our first team when the 'B' team are playing the exact same style week in, week out.
  24. Clinical finishing, but not the same game management as we saw last week. Stephens is a liability and should be nowhere near the bench, let alone 11 when Salisu is fit. JWP MOM with Vestergaard a close second. Worried about Ings and Bertrand, two players we can't replace IMO.
  25. I think we brought in Salisu to start and partner Bednarek , however with Vestergaard's current form he is the first choice in a pairing now IMO. I was one of Vestergaard's biggest critics, but he has done well of late and his passing ability is better than any other centre back at the club. The only worry is lack of pace, but Salisu has that and if Vestergaard continues to impress, then I would drop Bednarek.
