  1. Looks more Ipswich than Sheff Weds. Quite like their new badge though.
  2. Is the trip to America for anything other than publicity and to promote some Under Armour gear? Seems strange to fly everyone 8 hours to Baltimore, not exactly a place on most people's bucket lists, just for a bit of training and no friendlies. Would rather see us doing a camp in somewhere like Spain with a couple of friendlies thrown in.

The Scott Mills alternate commentary is doing a good job of brightening a dull game.
  4. If I'm reading the rules correctly then 5 first team players must make up part of the squad, and there are going to be 3 group games before the knockout stages. Therefore we've got at least 3 EFL trophy games and 6 Europa League games on top of the domestic league and League Cup matches, here's hoping we sign some major reinforcements this summer. As much as I enjoyed the trip to Wembley I'm firmly in the keep it for the lower leagues camp, can't bear the idea of B teams in this country.

    Rule 1
  6. It was inevitable but I'm still a bit gutted that Sadio has moved on. For me he was the first Maverick since MLT that could play gash all game yet produce a moment of magic to get us something from the match. With all that being said though I can't wish him or the bin dippers well, so here's hoping it all goes tits up.

Gareth Southgate, Jesus wept. How's he going to rally the troops or expect the players to respect him when he achieved th square root of **** all in his career. Just another yes man for the FA to dictate through. Steve McLaren Mark II.
  8. Could you imagine the meltdown!!

When people say "How can you not support England, they're your home country" it's simple, because of games like tonight. Because we constantly appoint yes men who pick players based on the clubs they play for, as well as whom the FA and their sponsors think should be picked. Square pegs in round holes all the ****ing time, it's been the same now for the past 15 years, doing well in qualifying and being an abject piece of embarrassing **** come the main event. The FA can spend their millions on things like St Georges Park but it won't make a blind bit of difference, we're one of the biggest underachieving football teams of all time, a complete and utter embarrassment. How anyone can willingly spend hundreds of pounds to go abroad and watch that **** is beyond me.
  10. If we're supposed to get excited for this new guy on the basis that he got to the Champions League semi final then forgive my scepticism, after all that's an achievement that David O'leary managed, and of course Roberto Di Matteo & Avram Grant went one better and made the final. Would we be happy with one of those 3 for our new manager, because I wouldn't.
  11. J-Rod took some kind of knock against City in a tussle with Nasri and worryingly he was neither seen of nor spoken of ever since, thought at least we'd get an update on his condition but no. Hope I'm wrong but I think he'll be another Michael Svensson

How is it that a team finishing third benefits from an easier run through the rounds? Seems a bit backwards somewhat. Nice to see Ireland take the lead, why the **** did ITV give Andy Townsend his job back though.
  13. I really thought when he got suspended for the last time last season that we'd push on without him and be ok, but I'll never forget how his introduction against Liverpool completely changed the game and made me realise just how important he is to us. He will be a huge loss, and tough to replace.

He's actually made a positive change! Perhaps he does have a set of balls after all.

    Forster would have saved that.
  16. The 'Ted Bates Trust', never was there a more ill fitting name for the group of fans dealing with the creation of the statue. I remember passing the next morning on the way to Sunday morning footy and being so shocked I turned round for another look. Was by far one of the funniest threads to appear on this site, as some people were trying to defend it at first before the reality set it and the hilarity started. Thanks to Leon Crouch for sorting out the debacle and arranging the creation of a new statue to be very proud of.
  17. Don't forget the rise of in-play betting too, acceptable enough reason to be on your phone. They've got free wifi at the Etihad, very much welcome when trying to check scores at half time. With regards to Virgin Media I love the notion that every skate that subscribes is inadvertently putting their money in our clubs coffers, brilliant!!
  18. More annoyed than shafted really, although I'd have renewed regardless of manager.
  19. On the left. Definitely didn't get her fathers looks.
  20. If Dave Watson goes I wonder if the club will take the cheap option and give Kelv the backroom role he's after.
  21. Disappointed that it's gone from Koeman confirming he'll be here next season, to being in talks for a new deal, then going to Everton in such a short space of time. Wonder if he wanted funds to take us to the next level as part of a new contract but we didn't match the ambition similar the Strachan situation so he's moving on. Perhaps it's a lot more simple and he's just a money grabbing ****. Still not convinced he's taking a step up, regardless of 'history'.
  22. Wasn't born till the year after, but for me Marcus Bent,, 93rd minute. 'Tis why I dislike them.
  23. Such a stupid rule, that has no benefit whatsoever.
  24. New Sunderland kit for next season, complete with striped back I'm happy to say http://www.footballkitnews.com/18368/new-sunderland-home-strip-201617-by-adidas-revealed/
