One of the board admins had a private meeting with a very well-respected director at the club, who informed him that the interest was indeed from a party representing Paul Allen.

Paul Allen was never interested in buying Saints, his name was mentioned and then totally used by certain individuals. Who sold sizeable chunks of shares as the price rose, on the PR orchestrated news article.

I'm not going to say who it was that told me this but they are someone I have known for over 20 years and was very close to the club at the time.
