Personally i wouldn't want him back. Doesn't show ambition IMO to keep going back for your old castoffs.

He didn't do v well at leeds or forest - unfort. he's turned into a bit of journeyman now.

But his kind of journeyman is still better than 80% of the players we have now. And we know he can bring some serious fanaticism to the team. We're going to need that.

lol

recently we have been praying to get in league 1 players to give our rag tag bunch some experience...when one is linked..some dismiss it out of hand because he was not that great for us in the premiership...

IF he is better than say Gillett and..err whoever else could play in the middle then it has to be a yes...regardless if he played for us or missed a chance at WBA and clapped the fans every game..

lol indeed

God no.

He is a liability. Too much of a loose cannon. He cannot even get into the Leeds side on a regular basis.

Not the sort of player we need at this club.

You talk like Leeds are a terrible team?? They will more than likely do better than us this year ! If a player can't get into a team it's not allways down to ability.players who couldn't get into our team last year on a regular basis have departed to a higher standard of football.

Just my opinion, but I think Gillett is better now than Prutton ever was. Maybe a slightly different type of player, but Gillett is a fantastic battling midfielder with a cracking attitude.

No doubt you would like a 17 year old boy as a skipper!

So what he made a mistake! I'm sure you never had as your a good little boy!

Perfect skipper and motivator if he tones down his temper a little

He lets his heart rule his head - never skipper material (and believe me I was one of his bigger supporters).

As to a 17 year old boy - get over yourself. Personally I think Murty would make a good skipper (not exactly 17 is he).

Perhaps you'd like to tell me exactly what quality you have seen in him that makes you think he is skipper material (apart from being a good motivator).

As to me making mistakes and being a good little boy - again a real LOL moment!

He captained England for a while as a older player with a team full of now premiership and full international players

Fair comment, we do need to fill these gaps - and at the back too.

Leeds are one of the better teams in this sh*te league and Prutton has not managed to play on a regular basis for any of their recent managers.

He had a chance to shine with Forest when they were in this league but got himself sent off with a reckless challenge in the play-off semi and Forest went on to lose that game. Calderwood soon got rid of him.

I was pleased when he first came to us but soon realied he was not up to it. Too few good moments playing for us.

1) why would we want Prutton when we have sh1t loads in da bank and can afford anyone?

2) Offering us Prutton is like offering Man City some cash, they dont need it and we dont need him!

3) He could maybe clean the boots of our new international superstars, but cant think he'd be any good at that either?

4) He doesnt look in the best of shape these days....

Sent off Against Arse - Don't care

Miss against WBA (sure Rooney missed one as bad once) - Don't care

Journeyman (3 clubs in about 10 years, journeyman? Really?:-s) - Don't care

Plays with more desire and passion than most of our garbage last year - Do care

Better than many than we've got at the mo (Bare in mind Pulis has been a regular thus far in pre season) - Do care.

Looking at our current midfield options, I'd really only pick Gillett ahead of him right now.

we certainly do..this season is going to be long...

so what if he is not fitting in at leeds..very much doubt we will buying straight from the CCC to fill all the gaps..

we NEED league 1 experience to fill some of the gaps...he has that..

hasnt also been in a playoff situation with leeds also..so know what it takes to push on in a long season...that experience could be valuable..

Def take him back, the few times I've seen him play since for Leeds always thought we missed a trick. Play him in the right position which for this club on recent form would be a change and I reckon he'd do ok. Always vocal which lets face it other than Euell whoelse actually says boo?

Passion is something many on here hark on about, a player who certaily displays that gets mentioned and its 'no he's ot good enough'

People wake up , we will not be buying Prem quality, we have Interational Strikers at the club that many on here are slating I'm sure if someone said we were signing, Bridge, Terry, Lescott and Johnson alog with Lampard, Gerrard,Rooney Barry then Owen and Heskey someone would complain we'd signed Englishmen!

Fair do's - can't argue with that. Just out of interest - how many times and when?

Prutton's greatest asset for Forest was his "engine" - his ability get up and down the pitch all afternoon - plus his ability to panic defences with his direct running at them. His biggest weakness, even then, was his disciplinary record - too often his commendable enthusiasm and drive put him into the ref's noteboook, even long after he ought to have known better. He also never scored the number of goals he should. For all that, until Jenas followed him, Prutton was the best midfield player to emerge from Forest's youth system since Steve Stone - David Platt described him as "better than Paul Ince, especially at taking care of one side of the field on his own" (and Ince was playing for England at Euro 2000 at the time). Prutts still holds the record number of England Under-21 caps.

Cheers for that. Which begs the question - why is he still at Leeds and not playing in a higher division? Oh and how old is he now?
