Nearly sh*t a brick when I saw him, great to see him back at SMS. Would love to have him back at some time doing some sort of ambassadorial/DOF role, possibly even manager in the future.

Also fantastic to see ML with the Saints scarf on, I had an ear-to-ear grin plastered across my face for about 20 minutes after seeing that! :D

WGS was Just there because he/his daughter lives in southampton

Yes I don't think anyone seriously thinks he is about to take over from Pardew - just good to see him there and interesting to see him in the box - clearly invited and clearly supporting the new administration.

exactly..

dont forget, when he left he said he loved the area, the city and the club and would always be a fan...

why not get some football in if you are in the area...

great to see him show some support

DOF?

WGS for DOF was a good idea before AP became manager.

If one is ever appointed, I trust it will be someone who AP approves of (painful memories and all that). Relationships between the two jobs are pretty crucial. And Pardew seems to be enjoying how things are right now. I personally hope we never have a DOF, unless in years to come, AP having led us to new heights -like Ted Bates did - takes on that role with a younger up-and-coming manager below him, like Ted did.

(How nice it is to dream. Meanwhile, one match at a time!)

I read something in the papers this morning (either Daily Mail or Times, I can't remember which) that a guest of Cortese was asked to pay £125 for his lunch and seat. Could that have been WGS? It also mentioned that ML and Cortese had to buy their own season tickets, as we already knew.

The Directors box did look a bit sparse yesterday for the first game of the season. Must be the new regime where they have to pay for their tickets. Good to get rid of the freeloaders like Wiseman, etc.

Nice to see him showing some support.

I am not actually reading anything into this, just think it's good to see the wee man

.of course Saints are WGS' local side now, why shouldn't he come?

If Cortese is half as asute as I think ..he will get around to the post of DOF sooner or later...." do you know anyone you can recommend Gordon ?..or would you be interested in that role yourself ..maybe ? "

(Having a few legendary figures around SMS won't do any harm at all.)

BTW ....Has anyone (at the top) spoken to MLT since the Pinnacle debacle - I do hope so !

He's the " other part " of our recent history.
