Chez Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 would be nice to get his home debut out of the way, perhaps with a goal to take any pressure off him going into Saturday.
Whitey Grandad Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 How many are expected to turn up? I'm looking forward to a night of pressure-free football but I don't know of anybody else who's going.

SamKimish Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 Just bought 4 tickets, I got a phone call about Lambert while queueing and spread the news to the rest of the queue. Great to see grown men act like kids on Christmas Day Apparently only about 4,500 tickets sold so far. Hopefully we will get a big walk up on the day. saints_is_the_south Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 Just emailed Mr Luker to see how many sold & he replied with this: Sales have rocketed since the signing was announced. The hourly sale rate has doubled. Sales are currently circa 5k, but this will rise dramatically now. What a great signing! We would urge all supporters to get here early tomorrow. You may recall we had a 7k walk-up for Yeovil 2 (or three?) seasons ago. No doubt we are due another busy night tomorrow. We have extra staff onboard throughout the day tomorrow, so anyone needing to collect or buy a ticket may well be wise to get here as early as possible. To help this process, we will stay open at St Marys until 6.30pm tonight. I'm going to ask him if sales continue to soar if there will be any possibility of the Northam being opened for tomorrow night.
saints_is_the_south Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 Another 10k need to be sold for Northam/Chapel to be opened, unlikely to happen I'd imagine!
Bourno Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 As we usually sit in the Chapel a decision needs to be made on where to sit tomorrow, Kingland or Itchen? Decisions decisions.....

saints_is_the_south Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 If we can get the same walk up as we did for Yeovil a few years ago (7k) plus the rest of today & tomorrow day time we could get close to having the Northam opened. Unlikely but it would be nice!

krissyboy31 Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 After Saturday's game, whilst driving back up north, I tuned in to Radio Northampton for their after-match phone in, just to see if I could find out anything about tomorrow's opposition. They were giving Stuart Gray absolute pelters. Signings gone from one extreme (nappy-rash youngsters) to the other (OAP's) and that he still hadn't managed to sort out anything like a cohesive midfield in all the time he's been there. Simon_UK Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 Much of the walk up for that Yeovil game were people who diverted from the Rose Bowl when the cricket was washed out, so a repeat is unlikely
Bearsy Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 I reckon it could be a full house for our big derby match. It'll probably really kick off inside and outside the ground as well. I ****ing hate them Cobblers!

Alright Dave Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 Davis Murty Thomas Perry Harding Thomson Gillet Schneiderlin Mills (if fit) Lambert Rasiak (if fit) Agree with most of that, but would not play Rasiak! Instead leave Pato in with either Rasiak or Saga coming on for him midway through the second half. Also if Mills is not fit then preferably Holmes if fit if not Gobern. I do agree with the exclusions of both Wotton and Lallana, as i feel that neither brought much to the shape or quality of the side on Saturday. eelpie Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 Davis Murty Thomas Perry Harding Thomson Gillet Schneiderlin Mills (if fit) Lambert Rasiak (if fit) I would start with Pato in preference to Ras and Saga, but it would be interesting to see Lambert play with all three at different times, though that wouldn't be good tactics. Saint Fan CaM Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 Got meself two tickets for tomorrow night. I would think that Lambert will be thrown into the mix as it will be a great opportunity to get him gelling with the team before a league match which must take priority. This game is almost like an additional pre-season friendly in that sense and it will be interesting to see how AP plays it in terms of team strength versus risking injury. I just wonder whether overall strategy will be to not worry about this game atall - will the players be told not to risk any big challenges for example? It's weird feeling this positive at the moment, as we've had so many years of crap...but this club is finally on it's way back. That's exactly how I am starting to feel - I have tried to suppress huge feelings of positivity as we've been screwed so many times in the past. Now it really feels like we're on the way up and there is some ambition, albiet in L1. I just hope it all works and AP can get us right up in the mix by the end of the season. And when we finally return to the CCC, I just hope Markus continues to support the Chairman and AP.

Probably treat it as a bit of a reserve match with the exception of Lambert. So... Bart James Perry Lancaster Molyneaux Thomson Gillett Gobern Holmes White Lambert Two of the back 5 are new and another didn't play at all last season, so i think they need match practise to gel into a unit (even though I also hope we sign a new CB before midday Friday). Also, Lambert needs to strike up an understanding with his first choice partner. I would also like to see if Gillett and Spiderman can get their CM partnership clicking again (again, even though I also would like to see another CM come in this week). Other than that, I agree with Thomson and Holmes at RM and LM.
Mark`` Posted 10 August, 2009 Share Posted 10 August, 2009 I think he will field a strong team because AP still hasnt got a chance to view the players playing competitively and the first 11 still won't know each other well.
