I know what your saying but is he in the final year of his contract or not? he is 30 yo as well now. Echo also mentions may make another signing in time for the game tomorrow.......don't they have to be registered by 12pm? could be an interesting morning. ART Posted 14 August, 2009 Share Posted 14 August, 2009 We might as well try and get some goals from him as he puts himself in the shop window. Good news this morning is that Hull have turned down the chance of signing Henri Camara. As I mentioned earlier, he's just the type of player to link up with Lambert and with him available on a Free the money can be spent on an attractive play and goals deal. I am with AP though on instilling pride in his team and the club. If Rasiak wants to demonstrate pride and loyalty I'd love him to stay, if not then let him go with dignity. To be fair, after the way he was messed around by Lowe and Wotte I don't blame him for losing interest in this Club. Can't have been a pleasant season for him last year. Junior Mullet Posted 14 August, 2009 Share Posted 14 August, 2009 Might give AP the opportunity to sign the "one other younger striker" he had lined up when he went for Lambert instead.

I think you're aiming a bit high for a League 1 team! But, I like your sentiments. Henri Camara was one of the few world class players we have seen at SMS IMHO. Shame the way his season here unfolded as I thought he was a cut above most Premiership strikers at that time.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 14 August, 2009 Share Posted 14 August, 2009 (edited) I would be disappointed if we sold him for less than £1m. At his age and with his less than impressive scoring record in recent seasons £500k would be a good deal for us . Combined with the £15k a week wages saved this would give Alan Pardew over £1m to spend on a replacement striker . Take the money and run I say . I too have been thinking how good it would be to have his pace and skill up front with Lambert. It might just be the best forward partnership to ever hit League 1 - but it aint gonna happen. I dont understand how Wotte messed Rasiak around as he was not manasger when Rasiak for cost cutting reasons was loaned to Watford. I do agree with your point regarding Camara as he was extremely skilful and your point about Rasiak's wages which would be pretty high for CC clubs never mind League 1 ones

Cabrone Posted 14 August, 2009 Share Posted 14 August, 2009 Well if GR is to go then I'd still play him till the time he goes, I want to see what a Rasiak\Lambert partnership could do in this league. Hopefully he'll have a change of heart because he'd be lethal in this div, esp with a guy like Lambert setting him up.

SFC Forever Posted 14 August, 2009 Share Posted 14 August, 2009 exactly. If he could score a few and gel with Rickie he could easily be top scorer in this division.

Dannyboy_Saint Posted 14 August, 2009 Share Posted 14 August, 2009 Problem is if you have one player on 50k a week and everyone else on 15k max then your gonna cause rifts in the team. Plus thats a horrendous amount of money to spend on league 1 wages even for a billionaire and he has stated all allong that he likes to run his companies as self sufficiently as possible. I realise thats almost impossible to do in football but so far we have only spent what we have made in out-going players. So unless we lose one or more of the big money players we arent gonna be getting anyone like Camara coming in.

dubai_phil Posted 14 August, 2009 Share Posted 14 August, 2009 I would be disappointed if we sold him for less than £1m. IF we sell him for 500k then in REALITY it will be worth around 1.3mil to us as you forget we would have to pay his (still) almost PL level wages. THAT will release a lot of funds into the squad as well as even out the whole salary levels. It is all well to have performing superstars but when you question the value to the team of say a Patterson v a Rasiak, the other players in the team may have an issue when the "higher paid" player has an off day. Saga, Thomas & Rasiak are the remains of a PL style wage structure that would cost us in the region of 2.5 mil pounds for the 3 when other teams have that as their WHOLE wage level, and we COULD spend that money much more wisely these days
dcsfc Posted 14 August, 2009 Share Posted 14 August, 2009 he's still our player, with him and lambert there are not many clubs that can boast that potential fire power!!
sussexsaint Posted 14 August, 2009 Share Posted 14 August, 2009 I would be happy to keep both Poles provided they could demonstrate they have a f*** and played to the best of their ability TBF I though Saga tried lst week as did GR.
paulwantsapint Posted 15 August, 2009 Share Posted 15 August, 2009 Know that looks likely Pato will partner Rickie against Colchester but until then lets use the poles as much as poss both are capable of quick fire bursts of goals which is what both they & Saints need to gain + points Redkrapp lost points by playing Camara with all his tricks in areas where he couldn't really hurt the opp instead of Phillips or Crouch who was more interested in just hitting the ball towards the net Henri Camara is NOT a team player
