Trouble after the game

So was it handbags or something more serious??

A load of brentford fans were coming away from the game and walking on over that enclosed bridge towards the Alfred..

they were intent on getting a rise out of saints fans....

I was just in front of them and me and my mate went along the main rd whilst the group of brentford fans walked down the street right passed the pub...

did not take much for a load of saints fans outside the pub to run over and have a "chat"...

I'm not being funny, but there are always a few idiots slapping each other about after a match. 15,000 home fans, 2,000 away fans. Most of them men, many of them pìssed, it's almost inevitable.

Unless someone gets seriously injured it's hardly news.

Not necessarily 'trouble' then, could have just been comparing hot dog prices :smt102

I was walking just infront of them on the bridge, they were a bunch of gobsh!te yoofs doing their very best to get a reaction out of someone, I can recall hearing the usual crap "you're not big time any more", "down with the Pompey" etc.

To be fair most Brentford fans I saw throughout the day were ok, it was just that group of jumped up nobheads who stood out. They were all skinny little teens, but clearly felt that they could gob off as there were a few of them.

There was a little scuffle outside my shop in northam road, just up from the king Alfred, nothing too serious and it was over as quickly as it started.

An ambulance did arrive but I'm not so sure it was anything to do with football,I think it might have been one of the local winos falling over or something.?

I heard that a few Brentford gobsh!tes were walking back by the Alfred singing songs such as 'we are going to run you all over town' etc... they got to the Alfred and were accomodated by some of ours, who promptly chased them down the road, catching a few of the less fast ones with a few slaps on the way.

Nothing really.

Ha not much actually. ;) Just I was lucky enough to witness an Ashes victory today and the Aussie crowd folk were fantastic and game for a laugh; barrel loads of beer with not even a hint of trouble. Similar with Rugby fans you don't get these problems. I just wonder why football worldwide attracts trouble with its fans compared with other sports.

Rugby league is not without it's contingent of nutcases - but yes i agree football does attract a fair few who like to cause trouble.

Similar with Rugby fans you don't get these problems. I just wonder why football worldwide attracts trouble with its fans compared with other sports.

Various reasons

Segregation: due to how society is and how tribal football fans are in this country, it is probably a necessity now, which is sad. When I visited Germany to see a Bundesliga game apart from one end of hardcore fans, the rest of the ground was mixed, everyone having a beer and a laugh together, it's the same at rugby. Segregation stirs up a kind of "us and them" attitude.

All you have to do is look at the behaviour of both sets of fans who sit either side of the actual divide, they'll spend more time looking at eachother than watching the game, giving it the pathetic w@nker signs and acting the billy big ******** from behind a row of stewards and/or police.

Class: I know it may sound like a snobbish thing to say, but the majority of football fans are out and out working class, especially in the lower leagues. If you go to a football game, a rugby game and a cricket match, you will clearly see the difference in the sort of people who attend.

Glorification: although I usually don't give a toss about violent films or computer games like Grand Theft Auto, I think films like "Football Factory" etc have certainly produced a generation of wannabees who only want to go to football games to goad opposition fans and run around in little gangs pretending they're hard.

I was in the same walkway as TDD..gobby little sh1tes, all about 12, shouting 'Your support is sh1t' - so they were none too intelligent either... 19,000???

They were trying to goad us but luckily our superiority and PREMIER support didn't bite...little big men until the Alfie chased them.

I took the main road too, just before the alsations appeared...haha

Your the tosser saying the same thing a couple of weeks ago. You clearly have a strong oppinion on this.

I suggest when you grow a pair you go to one one of said estates and tell the locals there what you think.

Already have done to the filth in Romsey that hang around the bus stop, should get a job, and prehaps people like me won't feel the same way.

Now im not saying trouble is right but i fear we are going to get alot of problems this season.

These so called "small clubs" are gonna come to SMS, big day out at the seaside at a big ground (compared to their puny sheds) bring big support, give it large to us a generally act like ******s.

It is up to the team to hammer them good and proper so they have nothing to wind us up about. Pathetic i know but in reality this is what will happen imo.

With respect the 'filth' in Romsey that hang around the bus station etc have largely gone now.

Let's not generalise things here though and try and mislead into people thinking the 'casual' element of SFC are just 'chavs' and 'jobless scum' etc...

As with any football clubs casuals, there will be teachers, tradesmen, financial advisors, executives, senior managers etc etc.

How many jobless scum do you know that can afford to go to every home game and most away games, spending thousands in the process.

Yeah, most of them have gone over the last six months.

The casuals at the club arn't really the ones that have been causing the trouble from what i've seen. It's the little chavs off the estates with their mates trying to act like they're the ****. Admitedly I did not see the incident saturday so can't really comment on this.

There are not many, which is a suprise with the benefits given out to some of the filth by the government, £25,000 a year tax free will give you more than enough to go to football on a saturday afternoon.

Did you pluck a figure from out of the air and double it? Or do these young scum fans you talk about have a dozen children they are claiming for?

If you can't justify your figure, then perhaps you could easily do some research into what the rates are.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/money/reader_guides/article5572594.ece

As the figure you have quoted is actually greater than the average earnings figure in this country, there would be no incentive for many to work at all and the ones working couldn't pay enough in taxes to support those out of work or claiming other types of benefits.

Hahaha, something branded I bet, as brands are the status symbols of the lower classes. You always know a chav as they'll be wearing as many expensive brands as possible to make them look like they've made it in life.

never seen a chav wearing canali, Robert Cavalli, 120%lino etc. seen many wearing adidas tracksuits.

This however is irrelevant and off topic.
