New player in the stands?

Was at the game and noticed up in the royal box was a guy being shown around by one of those guys with the green blazer on. Could not get a picture of him but was a big dude who sort of looked abit like ade adebayor and had a creamy kinda couloured suit on. He was there for the first half then vanished. Was this Jhadi or however it is spelt or just some guy totally un-related to us?

Okay having now actually looked at the dude's photo i am 99% sure it was him

Do you mean Radhi Ben Abdelmajid Jaïdi, who we were supposed to have abandoned an attempt to sign because of work permit problems?

Yep was that guy. Was being shown around as i said by the guy in the Green Blazer. I have no idea who that guy was but he signed some autographs just before the game at the players tunnel.

Hopefully someone else took a picture :)

Very interesting...

So either we are gambling on him getting a work permit or something more concrete has been agreed?

Maybe we've been working hard on the work permit behind the scenes?

TBF pard's never said ''it was completely off' - all he said ''it's getting away from us a bit now...'' - then it went silent.

Keeping it nice and quiet as not to alert other clubs...

I would also add that he was in a shirt and jeans , not a creamy kind of suit . I did not see who ever that was.

Well my memory is pretty fuzzy about the clothes, might have been a white shirt, orange shirt etc.. but im now 99.9% was him. Mainly because it was like 3 rows from me. He was shaking a lot of peoples hands in that first row up there then eventually sat down.

As i said hopefully someone who was around where i was took a pic.

I was sat next to Jaidi and his family.

Aparently he played for tunisia the other night so now qualifies for a work permit.

Another goodbit of business from pardew.

on a negative, brian gunn was there too!! why I do not know?

Nearly 3 years for your first post? I hope you tell it like you see it. ;)

I posted on the other thread I met McLeish up at Old Trafford the other week when he was attending a managers meeting - he spent ages having a chat and posed for a great picture with my nipper.

I asked him about Jaidi and his first words were he was signing for us. He told me he still needed him but his legs were not up to the Prem anymore - there guy at the back tonight was immense so cant see they need him as much as us ;-)

Fingers crossed he will sign and not just taking in a game of his old team.

Where did you hear that he played for them? He didn't play in Tunisia's last game against the Ivory Coast which was the 12th August. He wasn't even in the squad.

Well, that's great :D Really great news if we can get him. The reason I looked this up is just because if true this signing would really make a difference, so wanted to confirm what you had said. ;)

Fingers crossed for good news then.

He was as i said being shown around. I doubt he would be sitting in the directors box with his family if he was there to see his old team. Someone else mentioned he was training with the team so maybe he was just having his first look at the team playing a competative game?

He would be a great signing for us though.

With the bad news (pending) on Murty's injury, this could be great news if he does sign as it would allow Thomas to "cover" at Right Back (depending on how long Murty is out of course).

Nowhere near his best position and I'd prefer a proper RB, but a reasonable solution allowing us to continue to fill the real gaps in the squad and it would help us out at set pieces.

Oh, go on then...I may as well be first to ask the conspiracy laden obvious question....what were you doing in the directors box sat next to him? ;-)

Yes we can, we need centre backs of any quality badly. If they are pushed out of the first team then they will have something to strive for....

Playing centre backs of any quality (Lancashire) is part of the problem...we need centre backs with good quality...

Yeah the Echo seem to think he was just there as a 'guest', but then go on to admit they have no idea why he was there. You'd have thought one of the reporters would have been told that a snapper had spotted Jaidi and then asked Alan Pardew after the game about it? Or is that too much to ask for an Echo journalist?!

Jaidi was in the Directors box with his family. He was wearing jeans and a blue shirt.

Not 100% he'll be signing.

Source - The Echo

If you look he is holding a creamy coloured suit so maybe he got changed at half time ;)

Fingers crossed we sign this guy as we need another CB of the built like a brick **** house variety
