Leeds v Norwich

From watching the game in the pub, I really don't think there should be any teams in this league that scare us.

I've seen Leeds a couple of times and, granted, they're effective, but they are not an excellent side.

Take Beckford for example. He has a big reputation, but in reality is a one dimensional striker. If he can't play off the last defender then he's not much use.

Norwich, on the other hand, looked decent. And as much as I love our Rickie, their striker Holt was superb tonight, and probably the best I've seen in this league.

If we can keep being effective and grinding out results, as the last 3 games have shown, then we really could make the play-offs this season.

Wes Hoolahan was superb tonight, very much lallana-esque, in that he picks up pockets of space in and around Holt...and with his fleet footed-ness just creates space and opens up the game.

Norwich played the better football tonight IMO - Leeds were effective on the break but struggled to pick up Hoolahan most of the evening. i reckon you could also get a bit of joy down the flanks against leeds...

I had a dream last night that we drew 0-0 away to Norwich.

In the dream, I was behind a concrete post and couldn't see the game, so had to ask other people what the result was.

What does this mean?

My dream book says you have fears about sustaining an erection.

Absolutely, at the moment im sure these teams are looking at us and fearing playing us, long may that continue

still, I think we'll know more after this saturday's game.

In passing, I see that Leeds have signed Vokes on loan,as many seem to rate

him highly that isn't a great sign for us when we play them in December.

we were 10 away on the first day of the season...;)

That's exactly the point. We are doing well, showing good form and looking like a decent team now but we are nearly a third of the way through the season and further away from the play-off places than when we started. An 11 point gap sounds nothing when written down on forum post but in 33 games it is a hell of a gap to close (bearing in mind it's not just one team we are aiming for, we have 17 other teams between us and that 6th position).

About a month ago we were something like 17 points off the playoffs. If we're lower mid table by christmas we'll be well placed to make the playoffs.

Both Dirty Leeds and Norwich will be near the top of league 1 at the end of the season. Thought Norwich played much the better football and dominated without creating too many clear cut chances. Leeds are strong, well organised, hard working and mentally strong enough to score late goals in this league and beat most teams. Hopefully by time Saints play them both in Nov and December Saints will still be on a good run with a strong and confident side.

Thats the key for me - that's what won them the game in the end, their mentality. That is something which still needs to be fully etched into us - but with the financial backing we have, i think we can be even stronger than leeds next season.

Looking forward to playing the dirty northern b**tards, we owe them big time after their last visit to SMS:smt021

We got one over them last time! (play off season) beat them 1-0 in the 86th min! keeping our playoff dream alive.

I still don't think i'll ever be able to forget that 4-3 though, i felt sick for weeks. actually, even thinking about it now makes me sick...!

But we'd only be ONE point behind Narge with the same goal difference? We may have a lot of ground to build up on to catch them but they ain't such a better side are they?

(Ps If the answer is yes, then don't tell me!)

Now I am no freud, but I reckon the dream is telling you not to sit behind a concrete post whilst watching Saints.

being the best team in the league doesn't guarantee we'll get promoted after the **** poor start that we made.

We may well not have the legs to catch up, but at least we have the confidence, and the momentum, to go into the next season as red hot favourites?

I'm super positive atm!!!
