give it a farking rest with the digs..

you dont hear me digging at the likes of you for all your "lets be realistic and just stay up" comments from a few months back

never thought relegation was an issue.

Have been saying for ages that Alps should not be baited, however last night he showed himself to be a bitter laughing stock in the other thread and has no sympathy.

Digs are totally justified - unless he wants to apologise?

Haha you're having a laugh! I actually thought he'd come on after last night's game and admit he was wrong for thinking we'd turned predictable and had become complacent after the Orient game. You'd have thought after we won the next game that he'd have thought he was wrong and then admitted so. But ohhhh no!

as am I laughing at many on here saying (or telling me)

that it was the aim this season just to survive and anyone, ANYONE who thinks otherwise is/was "unrealistic"....how WRONG they are

Please, please tell me you forgot at least one smiley thingy!!!!!!!!

i'm liking Pardew more every week, very honest, always seems to be striving to make the team better and talks a lot of sense. Also seems to like it here and has a big respect for the fans and the club which is great to see from someone who has managed at a much higher level.

think most of the debate was whether it was wrong to slate manager/club for not turning around in a week.

I think the time was turned it around was realistic and the season is going great.

Quite sad that being right or at least proving others wrong, is seemingly more important to so many rather than just enjoying a win with fellow Saints fans. Neither side seem able to rise above it either. What I find funniest is that no one could realistically predict what happens over the course of a season and so to claim any kind of 'victory' in these kind of discussions seems incredibly fortuitous rather than insightful.

Anyway, onwards and upwards.

Hmm. Not sure you see it quite the same way as the vast majoriy of us. After years of complete dross it's rather nice to join fellow Saints fans in glorying our recent successes. At long last have a decent side for the league we're in which at the moment is winning game after game. We also seem to have a manager who calls it as we see it. Let's enjoy it and the stats.

You out to get out more, so tell me why is 6 wins out of 7 not good or I get it you like to be the centre of attention, yep that be the one

You ought to learn how to spell.

Sorry, that was really childish.

I am loving how Saints are playing at the moment, but I am really finding it hard to get carried away. Once bitten, twice shy kind of thing. Maybe Alpine is trying to temper expectations...

You were also telling all and sundry that Schneiderlin and Lallana were truly awful and should be dropped, so let's have a little bit less of the self-congratulatory back slapping shall we Nostradamus?

never said that about morgan

Took a matter of minutes to find this....

27 August

morgan is not suited to this league...you can tell he has class in there somewhere and playing div 3 football in england when the french clearly want him to progress quicker means we are not the club for him...

We won away

We scored 3 goals away AGAIN

We are seeing careful planned improvement

We will have bad days, but like the Large Hadron Collider they are in the future

MLT is in Dubai

We've had our first proper Indie music festival (even If some people never made it)

Pompey lost

Who gives a sh*t about debating points, realism and worries. Just smell the roses in the garden while they are there and being rosy.

As we all know sooner or later Roses need to be covered in manure

(hopefully at Wembley in the FA Cup Final but hey!)

Absolutely.

I for one thought Premier League football was on its way back to SMS after Wilde took over and gave Burley the lattitude to do what he wanted (and more or less spend what he wanted) with the team.

NEVER AGAIN. I do profoundly apologise if that comes across as "negative".

Pardew nailed it with his comments. Nice to see that he is confident enough to have a look at a few options and players. At 3-0, I suppose it did look safe. At 3-2 not so. But then that's what 3-0 allows you, i.e. to concede twice, for various reasons, and still win.

Have to say that before AP came to Southampton I respected him as a very capable manager, but who wouldn't be my first choice to take over the team. Well, considering the settling in period, and the -10 points, I honestly don't think many managers could have done better, and any of those who might have are already gainfully employed elsewhere, in higher divisions.

Oh, wow. another thread to sneer and have a dig at anyone who doesnt toe the party line...

TBF, what you see as "the party line" is simply most Saints fans enjoying our fantastic run of recent results and performances. If people don't want to join in with that, most of the rest of us feel ever so slightly sorry for them.

I am happy too.

I just dont think we need a smart-arse telling us how many games we have gone without defeat, since we are all Saints fans as much as him and know it already

I really shouldn't bite because you really aren't worth it but your hypocrisy is beyond belief!

Your post above reflects just how many of us feel about you when you feel it is OK to ram negative drivel down our throats and try to bring us all down to your sad level - now it seems you can't even bare to allow others to enjoy what for most of us is a well deserved and long overdue purple patch in Saints form.

It really is pathetic.

Anyway... back to my happy place:smile:

Talk about happy-clappy over-optimism. Take away Lambert, Connolly, Hammond, Waigo and Lallana and where the hell are the goals going to come from? relying on Trottman and Antonio? What about the end of the loan period? We are still in a relegation scrap, so get realistic.

Alpine, I like your style, but here, you're wrong.

There's nothing wrong with a fan posting our unbeaten run, it's just for our pleasure as it hasn't happened a lot in recent history!

What I don't think we need at this stage is a smart-arse telling us that, after one drawn game away from home, we have become obvious, predictable and the opposition have found a massive weakness that all upcoming opposition will no doubt exploit. I think you've made yourself look a little silly here.

I'm guessing that was sarcastic. You were missing a smiley thingy, either the roll eyes one or the winky one.

FFS, before you and Alpine got into this *****ing contest the content on here had actually turned back into intelligent, interesting debate. Now you've managed to change it into the same sh*t we had for the 3 years pre-admin.

That's right, have a go at me. I'm just agreeing with what someone else posted. You wouldn't hear a peep from me if it wasn't for Alpine's pathetic posting....he's the root cause of all this, so don't give me ****. At least some people actually have the same viewpoint as I do. NOBODY thinks Alpine's consistent moaning is necessary. Just cuz I actually stand up to him and tell him the truth...
