NickG Posted 25 November, 2009 Share Posted 25 November, 2009 ...PNE were allowing Trottman to play in the cup (although he is now suspended) after their talk of how he is certain to return and big part of their plans, does this now suggest discussions have moved on and he is staying? I wouldn't read anything too deep into this. It's easy to give permission for him to play knowing that he will be suspended.

And their attitude will soon change should we progress to the third round, more so if we have to face them!
madsent Posted 25 November, 2009 Share Posted 25 November, 2009 And their attitude will soon change should we progress to the third round, more so if we have to face them! Isn't he meant to return to Preston before the 3rd round ?
TopGun Posted 25 November, 2009 Share Posted 25 November, 2009 Surely they have been approached by Saints post-suspension and have said Trotts can play (because he can't) knowing that helps Trotts and Saints in the remainder of his loan period. Indeed he is, so really them allowing him to play is all a load of bull. Maybe they will be happy to release him? If so why the change of mind? Maybe he is not what we thought he would/could be? I really don't know.

Pat from Poole Posted 25 November, 2009 Share Posted 25 November, 2009 where did you see this? Solent said this was the case in their bulletin at 8.15.

Must admit, this made me chuckle. Cup tied in earlier rounds, had a shocking few games for us and suddenly he's not cup tied anymore. Is that cos PNE aren't bothered anymore after recent performances? haha To be fair, everyone has bad form (look at Morgan - Useless recently and anonymous!) and I believe he'll come good again. Typical Centre back distribution though (hoof and hope - makes us appreciation Claus and his little runs on the ball and breaking up the oppositions play). Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 25 November, 2009 Share Posted 25 November, 2009 I put this on the other Trotman thread... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...on/8376305.stm Preston centre-half Mawene picked up an injury on Monday night. Maybe this was why Alan Irvine was watching us - to see how Trotman's getting on, with a view to having him back?
paulwantsapint Posted 25 November, 2009 Share Posted 25 November, 2009 Are Preston still skint? If so is Trotman's loan pay per game? So it would make sense that he plays all league & JPT games
Gordon Mockles Posted 26 November, 2009 Share Posted 26 November, 2009 No, he hasn't. Yes he has. I can't comment on Norwich or Hartlepool but in the preceding games he's been very poor & all over the place. He began his loan in a much more assured manner. Against Brighton he wasn't even winning a large percentage of headers which is the strong part of his game. Also, positioning & distribution have been pretty haphazard. However, don't take what I said out of context as I do believe this is merely fluctuating form!
Raven on the wing Posted 26 November, 2009 Share Posted 26 November, 2009 I wonder if this FA Cup game counts as his suspension wether "Trotters" will be deemed to be "Cup tied" regardless ?? I would expect the Fa to deem it as such.

That's it. Before that he was awesome, and after that he picked himself back up again.
WATERSIDEIFASAINT Posted 26 November, 2009 Share Posted 26 November, 2009 Preston are apparently trying to sign Elliott Ward initially on loan and then permanently in Jan according to Sky.If this is the case will they be willing to sell us Trotman or extend the loan for the rest of the season? ottery st mary Posted 26 November, 2009 Share Posted 26 November, 2009 Ward would be a very good aquisition. Also Danny Seaborne and Ryan Harley from Exeter. Seaborne is Centre Back 22 yrs and out of contract end of season...Norwich are interested as are Plymouth for midfield player Harley. Ward would be my first choice...If he would come to Saints. COYRs.
VectisSaint Posted 26 November, 2009 Share Posted 26 November, 2009 Looks like Mawene is going to be out long-term so PNE are looking to get Trotman back as soon as possible, don't think they will be externind his loan or selling him to us.
