Leeds Away Ticket Info - full allocation taken

Just received this from David Luker:

Saints have sold 700 of the original 1100 allocation and have therefore asked for the additional tickets to take our allocation to 1700 for this massive game at Elland Road.

It is unlikely that Saints will receive further tickets unless there is a substantial increase in ticket sales in the next 24-48 hours.

Leeds have set a deadline of 8th December for us to request these additional tickets (taking us to an allocation of 2800) as there is demand from their own fans for these seats.

Should ticket sales be close to 1700 tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon, then we may be able to request the additional tickets from Leeds. If not, we will have to stick with the 1700 already allotted.

This statement is all very admirable from the ticket office but why the hell are they making it so late?? The decision needs to be made tomorrow as to whether or not we will take the extra allocation. This announcement should have been made weeks ago and much more publicly (provided of course this isnt fresh news to the ticket office also).

We are clearly going to sell these 1,700 tickets which will mean hundreds of fans will be left disappointed. The club should just take the extra allocation if Leeds are backing them into a corner. It seems that the club has made the decision to only take 1,700 tickets and then when there is a fuss later when we have disappointed fans without tickets they can say they made this announcement and fans were made aware of what was happening.

Most tickets for this game would have been sold in the last week before the game, its just the way it is, people plan to go but dont buy tickets until the week before. It wasnt like this when demand was high when we were in the premiership but fans have become used to knowing they can get tickets fairly easy with many going and paying on the day.

In all honesty Leeds are being unfair in putting us in this position as they dont need these tickets for home fans as the game will not be a sell out. They simply dont want to give us these tickets as they dont want to give us any advantage.

Saints fans have been great all season both in numbers and noise and all things considered we should take this extra allocation as our fans deserve them and we shouldnt back down to Leeds pressure tactics. As i said though whilst this announcement is a positive step from the club in many ways its far too late and they have failed the fans as we dont really have time to respond to the announcement.

Would people stop complaining at the £26 ticket price. A few quid over and above what other clubs charge, so what? Its chumps change once you factor in the extortionate price of a railway ticket that saints fans who live around the country have to put up with. Its especially moronic if it comes from those who are in a position to take the coach.

got 4 today would love to know how they can justify £26 for league 1 though

Spare a thought for Leeds fans (and me :( ).

I've bought 5 tickets in the Revie End which are priced at £26, but the robbing ****s also charge £1.50 per ticket booking fee regardless of whether you use a debit card (which i did) or a credit card.

That's Ken Bates for you.

Have to agree!

Ordering 3 tickets tomorrow providing I still can! Another example that everything about Leeds is dirt

Not sure - they were only 1000 or so short of capacity on Saturday, although that was for a local derby.

They're averaging just over 24.5k per game, although they sold 36.5k for the Huddersfield derby on Saturday, so this stuff about them needing the extra 1000 tickets for their fans is utter BS. Just confirms every prejudice I have about how Leeds United operate - dirty, shabby, cheating b*stards - add Ken Bates and you have the perfect mix - a scumbag club owned by a greedy, grasping ex-Chelscum tw*t.

I have friends who used to have Season Tickets at Elland Road, and they can't stand the man either. At least we only have to put up with this for one game a season.

May we ask why you're going in the (home) Revie End rather than the Saints end?

Don't get me started on booking fees - Ticketmaster, RyanAir, EasyJet etc all use this tactic to rip you off.

Because i'm going to single handedly take their end.;)

Or maybe i'm sitting with some mates who are Leeds fans.

Does anyone know the capacity of elland road because i thought it was over 40K. I reckon the upper tier of the new side stand is closed and probably was for Huddersfield.

I think it's currently 38,000. That's the number the media was quoting at the weekend.

Add two more here. There's no way we will get the end behind the goal, it'll be the usual cramped little corner. For those asking about pubs, best avoid Holbeck (the area in which the ground is situated). City centre will do you fine. If you're into your ale Whitelocks right in the centre (down a little alley off Briggate) will do you nicely. Otherwise there's a big Sports Bar opposite the Town Hall (The Headrow) just a two-minute walk up the hill from the station. COYS.

If we do get the extra 1000 I think these will be behind the goal, Huddersfield had the corner + approximately 1000 behind the goal on saturday
