I trawl youtube quite often but never managed to find these before today.

I was at all of these games. The game where we beat Birmingham 3-0 at St Andrews was a hell of a day as our coach broke down 3 times!. we got there at half time!

Brilliant .....thanks cloth ears I was at all the home matches.

Funny what time does to your memory, I could have sworn we won 1 .0 against West Brom when Golac scored that stunner

I knew it was a draw but i thought it was 1-1! I remember being on the Milton terrace that day and everybody was saying Golacs going to get the goal of the season, I don't think he did but it was one of those goals that all of us 40+ year old Saints fans remember.

Thanks for that Cloth Ears. I had my own Youtube account [cough] permanently removed [can't think why..?] and lost all my Saints stories and goals. So this has been a real tonic to see all those games.

Wonder who Saints80to85 is..? He needs to keep posting up the memories if he has more.

just underlines what a disaster Morans nightclub incident was. I also saw all the home games. Under the West stand in those days. The ground had a bigger capacity in those days as well. Phil Boyer a top player as well. Such good times to be a saints fan in those days

The week following the away win at Birmingham we also won 3-0 at Leeds Utd. That was the happiest times of my away days.

Always remember the snow coming down thick & fast at Elland Rd we were 2-0 up and thought the game was going to be stopped, then the orange ball came on, Holmes crossed it into the Leeds penalty area John Lukic collected it then nutmegged himself as he dropped the slippery ball, it trickled between his legs and into the goal...wonderful times!

On the way home the coach driver got completely lost and we ended up in the Pennnines and near Manchester somewhere.

Lawrie Mac judged goal of the season that year. He gave it to a goal that was almost the same as Golac's. He said he wanted give to Ivan but couldn't because people would say he was biased.

Some great memories came flooding back watching that.

aged 10 to 15 in those days and a regular in the Milton Stand. Though standing was generally a euphemism for jumping as the crowd surged forward and just going with the flow. Something kids today will never be able to do I guess unless they visit South America. Now they were good times.

I also remember clearly being at table tennis practice on a Friday night at Weston Park Boys' for the disallowed Keegan overhead kick. Imagine that, a live top league game on terrestrial! Needless to say, once the tv was wheeled in, the coach had no say on what we were doing that night. Don't think he was bothered.

I think you mean the Danny Wallace goal against Liverpool in March 84. That was the 1st season of live league tv games. Keegan's was in Dec 81 and was most certainly on a Saturday afternoon.
