Itchen North

Back to its former glory for the Pompey game? Most people being forced out of the Northam is going to the Itchen North too I presume?

Wouldn't mind betting that the last seats to be sold will be blocks 1, 2 and 3 of the Itchen.

For some reason the club want to stop the atmosphere in the Itchen and to date have been successful.

Got a bad feeling they'll do that, just hope they know it'll sell out anyway, so may as well put it on sale the same time as the rest of the ground.

Pompey have been issued with 4100-4200 tickets so only block 42 will be moved from their seats. They will then obviously be given priority on where they wish to be relocated. The club would ideally like these supporters to relocate themselves around the Northam/Kingsland corner but they suspect the majority will go for blocks 1-4. The good news is that block 1 will be open except for a one seat thick segregation for police and stewards.

Good if it happens - been block 4 for the last few seasons, having survived the purge and always slightly miffed when they open up blocs 1,2 and 3 only for it to be filled by indifferent types.

I dont think indifferent types will go in those blocks for this game. These 3 blocks will sell out very quickly.

What ****es me off is that I was in block 3 then was forced to move to block 4. I'd like to go back to block 3 for this game but I will only be allowed to purchase my seat in block 4. Which means I'll have to put up with the block 42 lot.

a petty gripe I know but a gripe all the same!

One word of warning to those going to block 1.

It built up a bit of a reputation as it had a hard core of older fans fan yesteryear - once the ST holders were broken up - the odd time it re-opened it has never been the same. Full of Green Street wannabes who only want to look at the visiting fans - and not interested in singing.

Strange one to call - but the Itchen North will never be the same again. If the away fans get moved next season - the Chapel or Kingsland corner will become the new Itchen North. It's not about the wall of sound - it's about being close to the away fans!

Will The Chapel become the new Northam?

The Itchen North has the sun in your eyes the whole of the second half! Best move I don't want any more sunburn!

The whole Pompey thing has revived the Itchen North. Personally I think all the old ST holders and people who regularly purchased tickets for this section should be contacted and offered their old seats back just for this game!

Wall of sound

Couldron of hate

"What's it like to see a crowd?"

We're The Itchen...you know the rest!!!

I reckon there's a good chance. TBH I don't think there will be many left anywhere after the linked sale limit has passed.

Well I'm planning on being at the ticket office early doors on the 5th to make sure I'm as near to the front of the queue as possible, and I'd be looking for a ticket in the Itchen North..

I thought you had a season ticket?

My Dad has one and I'll usually borrow his mates one and he only goes about 5 times a season so I have it for pretty much every home game and I get bought a separate ticket for the games that my dad's mate is going to. Obviously he wants to go to the Pompey game so I'll have to get myself a separate ticket.

I spoke to the ticket office tonight, in person, and they told me that blocks one and two would NOT be opened straight away. How true this becomes, we'll find out at 9am tomorrow morning. If they don't let me buy a seat there (off the back of my ST), but allow a database "cash-sale" to buy one on the 5th, I wont be amused.

Why would anyone want to be in Block 1 or 2 surrounded by police and stewards? Yuck

Got a few in block 3 this morning, the bird on the phone said vitually all this morning had been block 42 moving to block 1 and 2, don't think they realise block 1 isnt actually a block it's tiny, so is block 2.

Block 3 the place to be in my opinion.

It seems I am actually in Block 2 now... Oh well, better than Block 1 where you won't be able to so much as swear because of the police presence.

Surely if Blocks 1-3 are the first to sell out surely this will be the strongest message Luker and the club can have from the fans that they are depriving us from buying tickets in a popular area for all the league games this season.
