for once, the echo had it first:

not noticed this reported on the OS.

with 'Semi" cup-tied who will play at RB - Was the Dan Harding experiment today with a view to playing him there at Wembley, or will it be Lloyd James? My preference would be Lloyd James, he may not be quick, but at least he's right-footed.

Shame for Wayne, and for our defence, whilst not exactly pacey or creative, he is pretty solid defensively.

Not directly linked and maybe will post this as it's own thread perhaps but any chance of some of you good members of the Northam choir posting some of the words of our mist popular chants for next weekend be great to get all 44000 singing the same words :)

That is a great shame.

If the experiment worked today I would go with that.

Anything has to be better than Lloyd James poor defending and inability to get a cross past the first defender.

I know he wasnt alone but he was truly shocking when he came on last Tuesday.

Missed the sticky thread that was running for the last month or so... ;-) Where did it go!?!?!? EDIT: It was the Pompey song thread I was thinking about. God knows what I was going on about. I guess some songs could remain the same though...

Thomas is a big loss to the cup team. Shame, because he's earned his right to play IMO. I bet James is rubbing his hands with glee. (In an empathetic way...)

Great shame for Wayne

Dave Merrington compared him to Benali, I think that means he's c**p but always gives 100 per cent.:)

Yeah that is a shame. He's played his part and should be in next sunday's squad. I really do like Wayne Thomas's cavalier style of playing. It's often hugely risky, but it's bloody entertaining. He's a crowd pleaser, there's no doubt. And that takes some doing at RB.

Don't you mean 22,000 people shouting "shoot", and 22,000 people saying "why are they booing him?"...

More like:

5,000 people shouting "shoot" because of that belter against Ipswich

5,000 who haven't a clue why, but shout "shoot" anyway to look cool

5,000 who haven't quite got it and shout "booo"

5,000 sat there thinking 'why are they booing him'

5,000 stood at the bar in designer clobber not giving a f**k.

10,000 drowning the others out by singing endless anti-Pompey songs

That leaves 9,000 who only went to the MK 2nd leg match, aren't that bothered and will never be seen again.

Well Harding looked ok yesterday despite playing on the wrong side, Mills looked very good as well so I'd go with that. As a system it is probably a little less soild defensievely but offers a lot more attacking play than Thomas (or James) gave us. Shame about Wayne I like him bit of a thug but sometimes you need a palyer like that, and that goal against Ipswich was probably the best one I've seen all season (and that includes Lambert's wonder strike yesterday).

Rather have Lloyd James there if he's fit.

Problem is he looked very rusty against Swindon, I don't think he's anywhere near full fitness otherwise he would have played against MK Dons.

Tough one for Pardew, so very unlucky to have 4 right backs and not one of them available to play.

Maybe Wotton at right back? played there pre season.

There are four players that IMO have earned the right to play at Wembley as they're the players that played a big role in getting us there...

Perry, Antonio, Waigo and Thomas. I hope all are fit and that all get their chance, even if it's from the Subs bench, although I understand that there is little room for sentiment in football. A trophy, however tin pot, will go down in our history, so winning it is perhaps the most important thing. I will however be enjoying my day out at Wembley no matter what!

Yes, said he heals like "Wolverine". Bit of a tall claim from a player who missed practically all last season injured.

I seem to recall an article a few months back that suggested that Thomas wasn't injured as much as we were led to believe.
