Hamilton Saint Posted 5 September, 2010 Share Posted 5 September, 2010 Given the situation that the club is in at the moment, it doesn't really seem that surprising that we'd lose in this fashion today. The players must still be in shock at what's happened. Some must be disillusioned; most must be dispirited. The team must be just as full of doubt and uncertainty as the fans. Not to mention that Lallana's out injured for an indefinite period and Lambert, apparently, has not shaken off his injury properly. It's also not surprising that many fans on here have gone into a major meltdown. Just read some of the hysterical stuff that's been posted on here today. We need to calm down, wait patiently, and see what's in store. Never a dull moment, though, eh?!
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 5 September, 2010 Share Posted 5 September, 2010 (edited) It's been all downhill for as long as I can remember. Rochdale just might be the lowest point so far. Though judging from past experience it's unlikely to mark a turning point in our ongoing slide into crapness. We were looking like starting the climb back up the slope but we're on our arses again sliding uncontrollably down the mountain. We need some leadership on and off the pitch. Smirking_Saint Posted 5 September, 2010 Share Posted 5 September, 2010 Easy, Pardew never strengthened in the summer, he never got the team ready for this term, never taught them a plan B. lallana is injured. Lambert is injured. Jaidi is sh*te. Hammond can't pass. Our owner died. Our manager is sacked for what we can only assume was an incident somwhere. Is it any wonder the club is shell shocked. benjii Posted 5 September, 2010 Share Posted 5 September, 2010 We battered them but couldn't finish. That's not the chairman's fault, or the manager's. It might be the fans' fault a bit for being infantile, impatient little ****s who have a strop at someone who misses, increasing the pressure that little bit the next time... but it's mostly just bad luck that several players had a 'mare in front of goal at the same time. Nothing to worry about though and thankfully the people in charge have a lot more sense and bottle than most of you lot.

Or we can assume that the CEO has wanted him out for some time and used a minor incident to get his way. AS for tactically clueless - he was tactically aware enough to win us a cup and would have taken us to the play offs without the minus 10 points (which was nothing to do with him). If there was a lack of strenghtening in the summer (funny, I see to remember signing defenders) then why not blame all of the 4 man committee, of which the CEO is apparently a major figure? No disrespect to a team that deserved their win but FFS Rochdale. At home. That is the lowest. Angry and hurting. Thoughts please. Why not just read the official statement on the Club's priorities "the Club has decided that, to achieve its well known targets, it is essential to make changes to the First Team management and coaching. These targets for sustained and significant progress embrace both the First Team and the Football Development & Support Centre as integrated, co-operative units." The main priority is to improve co-operation between the First Team and Les Reed's empire. To achieve that goal Pardew + 2 were fired.

Special K Posted 5 September, 2010 Share Posted 5 September, 2010 What a bag of s***e. Since the mid 90's we had to endure pony managers or poxy ones with an eye on a bigger job, chairmen and board members with no cash but riddled with egomania, has-been players screwing a few last quid before they retire and gobs***e players trying to make a name for themselves. The brief distraction of the WGS era aside, we've been on a downward spiral that precious few individuals (MLT, Pahars, Dodd, Benali, etc) have tried to valiantly slow down. But here I am on a sunday morning, reading reports of a home defeat to Rochdale. F***ing Rochdale!!! I'm well f***ed off. I don't want to hear about "we were all over them, we just couldn't score" or "we always start the season badly" or other such inaccuracies; we are still in the s**t, still have a megalomaniac for a chairman, still have a rudderless club and still have a spineless, managerless team. Some have taken a lot more of the devils dirty money than we have. What tosh. What I am saying is once you take the money from sky/premier league then you cease to become a family club and more like a money making monster that only has greed on it's mind. IMO the family club ended in the late 70's early 80's when hooliganism and caged in fans were introduced then in the 90's came the premier league break away which we were part of,with little regard for the clubs outside of the top flight we took the money not realising that one day we would rely so heavily on the sky/PL money,it was snatched away with relegation and we have struggled ever since......ok,families are welcomed at st marys but that old family club tag isn't what it used to be. FFS !!! why do we have to presume there was an 'incident' ??? The truth is NC sacked AP before engaging his brain, just like he banned press photographers before engaging his brain. Everything we've been hearing about NC from insiders suggests this latest show of petulance is par for the course. I wish people would stop trying to find excuses to cover up NCs ineptitude. Shut Up ! Dont you realise we are having a (collective) nervous breakdown here ! Saints arent allowed to lose matches/play badly/Play well and lose/sack managers/have internal disputes etc etc. Back in the day we used to always play well/win matches/keep the same manager/were a family club/everyone loved us/the sun always shone/fans never moaned/etc etc. This never happens to other clubs (look at Pumpey for example) we are the laughing stock of the whole football world ! I cant go on ! Im going to throw my season ticket at the directors (who saved my club hmmm ) join a workers revolt/Sisa whinge whinge moan moan. moonraker Posted 5 September, 2010 Share Posted 5 September, 2010 I am keeping myself sane by believing that the that the ML takeover was the start and that it would not all be fixed in a season. All managers are a gamble, AP was a good choice at the time and certainly did well last season, however as has been pointed out he presided over a shambles of a pre season. I am willing to accept this short term pain for the long term gain. Putting SFC back together after the double relegation, administration and the managerial and chairman revolving door was never going to be easy. I've just been surfing and note that the big fella karked it last week (i was unaware - as i was of Pardews sacking tbh), but fair enough if the old pie eater was an inspiration for them.
