ottery st mary Posted 12 December, 2010 Share Posted 12 December, 2010 NC wanted Pards out before the season end.....For whatever reason Pards knew this and was not getting support for his pre-season or his team building. He knew as did many others in football...writting on the wall when Les Reed on the scene to advise NC. We have lost a very good manager in Pardew. We have a wing and a prayer with Adkins....Not in the same league as Pards by many a mile. NC selects Adkins with Les Reed as main advisor....Thereafter the financial situation and Reed interfering..we end up in the lap of the Gods. Rest assured if we stumble much more ..good old Uncle Les will take more control..No doubt if Adkins fails..Uncle Les will be boss. Pards was tapped up by Reed and Cotese putting their collective boots up Pards arse for their own reasons. Good luck to Pards. More importantly good luck to Nigel Adkins..he will need it more than ever. PS let Spiderman go now. Get rid of Reed and let us hope Adkins starts moving us up the league.. I do not blame Pards wanting the best for himself and his family.

ottery st mary Posted 12 December, 2010 Share Posted 12 December, 2010 Any news on the "Morgan Schneiderlin is actually an Arsenal player on loan to Saints" story? Personally think it was Spidermans agent and The dark Lord Rupert who started all that nonsense.. Having said that ..I bet Spiderman wishes he had been selected for the youth system at Arsenal..but then again he would never have made their reserves by now..... Over hyped and NOT up to it...get rid now his heart is not in it and has not been for a long time.

I do not blame Pards wanting the best for himself and his family. On the basis that Cortese is never wrong, he will never get rid of Reed, although I think he is a massive disruptive force I do believe however that Ashley sounded out Pardew long ago, and but for the fact that Houghton got Newcastle Promoted, he would have gone there months ago For me though, the most worrying thing is the lack of Team strengthening It IS painfully obvious to most that we ARE very thin on the ground in some areas, mainly attack, yet nothing of note has been forthcoming Guly flatters to deceive and is NOT the answer, but, as he is a Cortese man, will no doubt retain his place for the duration Adkins reckons he will get some players in January I don't think Cortese will allow that
ottery st mary Posted 12 December, 2010 Share Posted 12 December, 2010 Richmond....You are probably right about Ashley.....Maybe that helped NC in his decision making. NC definitely wanted Pardew out in any case. He was slowly eased out and Reed was a big part of that IMO..selection of team and players movements at all levels confirms that for me. I still think the Ashley interest came about after Pardew saw the writting on the wall as NC and Les Reed laid down their marker. Guly is a very strange signing.......Personally wasted money particularly in our financial predicament...SEVERE tightening of the belt at all levels and yet we have an expensive player in Guly being forced upon our team manager. Also the Les Reed army is a very expensive group and I believe the man is a dispuptive influence lurking behind any managers back. Team strengthening......several players need to be shipped out and Adkins be allowed to be his own man...but money will be in very short supply. Window Cleaner Posted 12 December, 2010 Share Posted 12 December, 2010 And you believe that? Well I believe he said it yes, last summer when the pressure on him to say something got too hot,in fact I saw the interview on Saint's Player I guess. Why he said it who knows. I am not completely comfortable with anything he says really but as I'm a trusting sort:? what can you do. Now if leftback said something well then that I could well believe. I would have thought we could have done so much better, guess I thought wrong.I shall look forward to our side being filled out with Scµnthorpe hand me downs in January then as well as 3 or 4 of our own players moving on. The reason we are in this state is because Pardew had full control, did things his own way and completely bluggered things up to the extent we see at the present. Give Pardew the condition of these players and a Ricky that is so knackered he can hardly score, you will not be seeing the results Pardew had last season. That you can easily confirm by looking at the performances under Pardew for the start of this season, way below previous levels. When you go out on a limb and do things your own way against advice from your own staff, then get proven totally wrong. It comes as no great surprise that the likes of those that warned him, would not take a swing at the bare arse he left sticking up. You can blame Cortese for allowing Pardew to do this, but you are arguing the opposite. Adkins has no problem with any of the staff, only praise and I only hear his decisions on the squad. All the problems we are seeing now, is down to the disastrous pre-season under Pardew. Reed may well have poked his nose in and warned of the consequences, but Pardew got his own way. Cortese did decide this was sufficient to launch his arse down the road and I won't fault either of them for coming to that decision, given what Pardew did. There's not a single fact in there, it's all rumour and invention, but it's stated like it's ITK fact. Stuff like this then later gets refered to as stuff everybody knows about, when really, it's all just ******** and supposition. It's what undermines the optimism we should all have about our club. So many people just have to believe it's all shady business, backstabbing and ulterior motives. When the "we're being sold" thread appeared, lots of posters immediately claimed they'd known about it for ages. Then they went quiet when it turned out this was rubbish too. Everybody wants to second guess some kind of sinister plot going on. It's a shame, occasional bad results and performances aside, they can't just enjoy supporting a club which is clearly on the up. I think it's fine to come on here and criticise performances, players and management decisions and decisions Cortese has overtly made, but the whole culture on here of making up sinister behind the scenes back-stories really needs to end. So just before they come to take me away..let me into your secret..... I take it your opinion like norway saint is right and my opinion is wrong.. The main thing regardless of what either of us think went on.. we are no better off at the moment and apparently getting worse.. and yet you still want to blame others and not the problems we have here and now. The bottom line is that this mess has got to be sorted out over the next two or three games or we are out of it. I still feel optimistic that things will improve and we get back amongst the top six and stay there. Like you I am still a Saints fan and want the best whoever is running the club. Deppo Posted 12 December, 2010 Share Posted 12 December, 2010 (edited) I heard that this tryst between the Geordies and Pardew goes further back than last summer. Legend has it that Mr and Mrs Pardew were visited on 17th July 1961 - the eve of the birth of their son, Alan - by the Angel of the North who prophesied that the day would come when their son will be given the manager's job at Newcastle United. The Angel also said that Alan should haggle for a laughably lengthy contract on the back of, and I quote, "wor lad being tha choosen wun, an al". Wade Garrett Posted 12 December, 2010 Share Posted 12 December, 2010 Probably not much of a shock, but Pardew knew the job was his before Hughton was sacked. I know it's the business they're in, but it leaves a bit of a sour taste.

Any rumour that didn't originate from ...... 1/ A bloke down the pub 2/ A taxi driver 3/ Your barber (although this latter one is no longer the bastion of male bonding, rumours and offers of something for the weekend that it used to be. More likely news about Julian's new fluffy pink poodle ) ... so maybe Smarltly Dressed Blokes talking loudly in restuarants is the way forward!!! ..... isn't worth the time of day. FACT. We may be League 1 in football but for conspiracy's we are Premiership FFS.
