I don't know, but i'd suggest ex-saints is a very loose term here, in the same way in 15-20 years time Andrew McNeil might be included in an ex-saints 11.

Blankley, Stagg and Llewelyn were all youth and reserve team players. Leroy Whale was a Saints schoolboy player in the eighties, who went on to play for several Southern league sides.

Dont know Cullers and Cleevely but I think they were in the Ex-Saints team that played Chelsea last season at Eastleigh in the Kevin Moore/Peter Osgood charity game.

The rest all played 1st team. Except for Ady, who bullsh ites his way into these games.

is the referee Howard's brother ?

Isn't he a local league Ref in Southampton? I suspect this is him :

Edit : I love this quote :

"He abandoned one game after just 10 seconds when two players broke their legs in a challenge. And once, in 1967-68 (don't forget he's an accountant), he lost control of a match in Millbrook, Southampton."

The Ex Saints enjoy a close relationship with Southampton FC and have an affiliation agreement with the club. We play football matches and organise events to help good causes as well as assist former players who may have fallen on hard times.

In 2008 a new board of former players and local businessmen was formed to drive this initiative forward. The Ex Saints board now consists of Francis Benali, Jimmy Case, Matt Le Tissier, Bob Terris, Mike Thew, John Webster (president) and Leroy Whale, plus Vice-Presidents Mike Channon, Terry Paine MBE and John Sydenham, Honorary Solicitor Clive Dobbin and Honorary Treasurer Paul Bricknell. Tim Manns looks after the website and the membership database.

On this website you will find details of how you can support the aims of the Ex Saints through donations, sponsorship and advertising.

You will also find profiles of our members. Every player who has made one or more first team appearances is deemed to be a member of the Ex Saints. We are always keen to find out where the Ex Saints are and help the members to keep in touch with each other.

matt le tissier..

no wonder you hate cortese..you are part of a merry band of men that have had their freebees stopped..

There really is no need to join in.

In fact, as a Saints fan, I wish the two parties could at least stop the bickering and perhaps eventually make up.

What happened to Roy Beazley, the man is a legend. Is he okay?
