i am just enjoying basking in the glory of proving a lot of the mugs on here wrong, as usual. Jaidi, Hammond and Jonno have been the whipping boy by the cluesless majority this season and have all to some extent proved the clowns wrong, now imagine what might have happened if we'd cut Puncheon a bit more slack....

Difference being that the three you mentioned haven't thrown a paddy and f*cked off, and the level of effort they put in is significantly higher than Puncheons.

But we really do have some idiots for fans. Sitting in the Northam can be tiresome sometimes having to listen to them, but it's a nice feeling when someone like Forte shuts them up in such emphatic fashion.

I thought N'Guessen was the one getting the stick rather than Forte. Turks pointed that one out before when he got cheered for getting subbed, and he was right. Did Forte ever get any sh*t from the fans?

and agrees/w saint clark about puncheon, you only need to listen to that NA interview to know how the manager rates him.

A lot of fans on his back from day one. Proffesor is one on here that stands out from memory as slating the guy after two 10 minute subsitute appearances saying what a poor signing he was. There were plenty of others on here as well.

Forte was definitely getting booed by some fans when he came on as a sub against either Swindon or Yeovil...can't remember which. But as I said, I think some people might have just been confusing him with N'Guessan.

There is a lot of work to be done on Forte before he is the finished article.

He's had a good day in so much he got 2 fairly straightforward goals but he did look out of his depth at times.

Feet on ground and all that. Hopefully he will learn a lot over the next 12 months.

I think you'lll see on the league one show that the first goal was anything but straighforward, great turn and finish, the second admittedly was harder to miss than score. Work to be done but showed his potential and pleasingly his goals were not just using that Jonno Quick pace but needed a bit of guile and composure as well.

No, I don't care about you proving anyone wrong, I posted here because the petty message made me chuckle!

Well some of us get p*ssd off with the whipping boy mentality of some of our fans. Today it's Chaplow. Many on here aren't happy unless they have player to slag off. Gully, Hammond, Jaidi & Forte have all been the boo boys dariling this season yet all proved them wrong. Forte was getting slagged off after two 10 minute subsitute appearances FFS!!

As much as I said not to judge Forte so quickly, I think it is important to remember that he still needs to be judged IMO, he scored 2 goals today and seriously got us out of the poo (as far as todays result is concerened) but lets not pronounce him as the new jesus just yet.

nor does 20 mins worth of sub appearance...yet many wrote him off and claimed lack of ambition etc...his transfer fee paid for itself today really

Not convinced personally........we'll see.

Pleased he did well today though.

but isnt he what we were after exactly a couple of months ago..an option from the bench...back up...added depth to the squad..?

Who are you talking to?

Btw....take the redundancy, travel (i know you have done for work), enjoy yourself and get to 'know' people.

exactly Jamie. People were crying earlier in the season that we needed back up and had no options and pace on the bench, we get options and pace, the lad comes on scores two and changes the game and people are still not happy.

But he didn't use his super quick speed ..............he just kind of stood in the box and tapped the ball in the net (something none of our other players seemed to want to do)............. you made him sound like he was going run down the pitch like a gazelle Turkish. Where was the speed?

How do you know? People were saying at the start of the season we were stupid not to sign any wide players because we cant depend on a 17 year old. How can you judge someone on 6 substitute appearances which now have produced an impresive return of 2 goals in a vital game. He was signed as the cover player everyone was crying for, he is just that and has now wieghed in with two vital goals. I would say based on that he is the solution people were crying for.

Isn't it great that he has more in his locker than just that Jonno Quick speed? I applaud Forte not for not just being another Theo Walcott (ie a sprinter with no football brain which is what many on here think according to that thread) but has fantastic positioning in the box and a great finisher and composure when the pressure is on, two chances two goals in a vital game, enough said.
