Arizona Posted 21 October, 2008 Share Posted 21 October, 2008 Pre-match thoughts on here please. Try to keep it civil. Squad who travelled to Sheffield: Davis, Forecast, Cork, Lancashire, Perry, Skacel, Gillett, Lallana, James, BWP, DMG, Wotton, Pekhart, Mills, Thomson, Surman, John, Paterson. patred44 Posted 21 October, 2008 Share Posted 21 October, 2008 ANYONE WANTING A RADIO LINK? Try this out, they are doing a special offer 99p for a months trial.. Any game, and as many matches as you like. I've been using this for 3 years..no problems. One drawback is that Saints matches are covered by opponents commentary due the SFC not allowing their own radio station. Save everyone asking every game COYR

Yate Saint Posted 21 October, 2008 Share Posted 21 October, 2008 I got a feeling Skacel will start tonight and he will score. Probably see BWP at some stage too. Lets hope 'the new faces' do the job tonight. COME ON YOU RUDDY SAINTS!!

Lets hope 'the new faces' do the job tonight. COME ON YOU RUDDY SAINTS!! I've got a feeling he's caved in and is going to play left back. That's what it looks like on the "from" list on the OS. I would say, and I'm probably wrong, that we're going for a Cork Lancashire Perry Skacel back 4 the James Mills experiment is perhaps being reviewed. Anyway thanks to the 454 people over the break even number last saturday perhaps we can pay Rudi's "appearance fee" :smt051:smt051:smt051 Yep 454x£24 is certainly greater than £2.

Window Cleaner Posted 21 October, 2008 Share Posted 21 October, 2008 On loan from them so can't play. DMG will always start sadly. Does make me question JP a bit. I don't believe for a second anyone else is telling him he must pick him, he just seems to like him a lot. It's hurting the team though. I believe we should stick with John now and hope his form comes back, play Lallana just off him, Skacel left and the right hand slot can be filled by whoever performs best in the coming games out of BWP, Thomson or White. Even that attack has far more experience and IMO threat. If only it could be Saga wide right with Skacel wide left and Lallana off John we'd be looking excellent going forward. I'd rather see Wotton in midfield while Schneiderlin is out. Gillett can replace Cork, who can in turn replace James. Perry in for Wotton and Surman back to left back. I know there's lot of gloom and doom, but I don't think we're miles away from having a half decent team. Of course, it might go the other way and get worse, which it probably will if we continue to ignore the likes of John and Skacel. I don't think DMG will start this time. Call it intuition. I think some of Jan's barbs on Saturday were firmly for his attention. Not as good as he thinks, yep that's about right. Mills, and DMG dropped, perhaps James given a go in midfield . Sheff Saint Posted 21 October, 2008 Share Posted 21 October, 2008 From that lot Davis, Cork, Perry, Lancshire, Surman BWP, Wotton, Gillette, Skacel Llanna John Not ideal but it's a start. To be fair, get them playing and then add Killer, Euell and Morgan in that team and we've got a half way decent 11 (all things relative of course!) Of course that's assuming that the BWP that turns up isn't the one that turns up 9 times out of ten!

Window Cleaner Posted 21 October, 2008 Share Posted 21 October, 2008 Our team sure does look strange. Perhaps it's just the way they show it on the Sheffield site Saints: Davis, Perry, Skacel, Wright-Phillips, Surman, John, Lallana, Gillett, Lancashire, Cork, Mills. Subs: Wotton, Forecast, McGoldrick, James, Paterson.
SuperMikey Posted 21 October, 2008 Share Posted 21 October, 2008 From that team i'd pick: ----------Davis----------- Cork--Perry--Wotton--Mills ------Gillett--Surman------ -BWP---------------Skacel --------Lallana------------ ---------------John------- Bench: Forecast, Lancashire, James, Thomson, Pekhart I reckon 4-1 to Sheffield Utd. Not confident about this game at all. Oh, btw, how is Dyer getting on oop north?
