Nexstar Posted 11 December, 2008 Share Posted 11 December, 2008 Good idea by the club for ST holders and it must sell out with 15,000 just from season tickets. Added with 4,500 from man utd there will only be 13,000 left for members and general sale.

Dannyboy_Saint Posted 11 December, 2008 Share Posted 11 December, 2008 Bit harsh on those trying to get tickets through general sale if they're gonna allow ST holders to buy any number of tickets for the 3 days previous. AK Posted 12 December, 2008 Share Posted 12 December, 2008 Does anyone know if there has been a delay in the ticket office mailing out the Man U tickets ?? I bought mine via phone on the 5th Dec and they have not arrived yet ?? There has been a slight delay I ordered mine by phone on 5th but they only arrived today. I was a bit worried as they had not arrived so yesterday I e-mailed the ticket office to check my order was ok and got an immediate reply confirming they were on the way. stevegrant Posted 12 December, 2008 Share Posted 12 December, 2008 It's a bit of a gamble though, isn't it... in the Premier League, buying a membership was definitely worthwhile as we'd be playing the likes of Arsenal, ManYoo, Chelsea etc every year, and without a membership chances are you weren't going to get a ticket for any of those games. Nowadays, we play a big club once every 3 or 4 years depending on a cup draw, and many would argue that paying £20 a year just on the off-chance that we get a draw like this isn't worth it. I think I'm right in saying that this game is looking like being the only game since relegation that will sell out before reaching general sale. £80 just to give yourself a better chance of getting a ticket (still not guaranteed) is probably not really money well spent, particularly as there's a hell of a bigger chance that we won't draw a big team in the cup each year... LGTL Posted 12 December, 2008 Share Posted 12 December, 2008 Can see it selling out now. Great uptake by STH's and any member who has a membership this season is bound to get a ticket. Whats to stop people from buying 10+ and then forcing people to pay over the odds on the day because its sold out? Exactly, Dannyboy. That is my concern too. I'm a Member but I doubt they'll be any tickets left by our start date. ST Holders can buy a handfull and sell privately or on Ebay. Surely, one per ST, one per Member then open sale. Calvin Posted 12 December, 2008 Share Posted 12 December, 2008 "Only going to see Man Utd!, Only going to seeeeeeee Man Utttttd" I wont be going to the Saints vs Man Utd game as it doesn't really interest me to be honest. I want to see us have a chance of winning, not being decimated by a big team. I dont want to be in a stadium full of half of the plastic fans, also aint worth my money. It will sell out anyways. chi saint Posted 12 December, 2008 Share Posted 12 December, 2008 I could go but at £30 a pop plus three kids, they must be joking with the quality of the current squad. If I want to watch two youth sides play i'll watch my kids school matches, more enthusiasm and skill anyway. I think it will sell out but it'll be a real one off with most never darkening SMS again and only going to see Man u rather than support Saints. Kingsland Nick Posted 12 December, 2008 Share Posted 12 December, 2008 Good thinking by the Club. We do better away from home, so the more Man United fans who get the chance to buy on eBay the better. I think the Club were forced to make general sale database only by the FA or the police. Selling extra tickets to season ticket holders helps get round that.

Less be honest the cost of it over a season is nothing What a ridiculous comment. I cannot think why anyone would want to buy a membership at all. Why buy a right to buy a ticket when if it's not Man U you can buy a ticket anytime you want to.? And if your logic did make any sense at all it means you are in effect buying a ticket for a 50% premium price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is just not justifiable. MEMBERSHIP SHOULD BE SCRAPPED - IT'S A RIP OFF.

St. Jason Posted 14 December, 2008 Share Posted 14 December, 2008 I think Lowe & Co are panicking it's not going to sell out, which is why he's giving more us season ticket holders more! I thought we had ,10k + season ticket holders which would = 20k for man u but we've sold 15k, so why give us more because "the demand surprised us"? I went down Thursday when the tickets went on sale to members, the club was expecting a huge rush of members as there were 2 burger bars there, there was more people working in the bars than queing!! Not sure why the club does nt say pay twenty quid for the membership but then get 10% off every time you use it - thats a couple of quid a game off. i think this would work for the cricket club as well. I was a full member at the hampshire but since the nipper has come along and with work just dont make the games so its hard to justify 140 quid a year - however a lesser membership with a discount on face would certainly put more names on the database. - just a thought! hamster Posted 15 December, 2008 Share Posted 15 December, 2008 If, it is not sold out, then the club have really missed an opportunity IMO. They should not have put a hold on new memberships. That way, they would have effectively been selling a lot of seats for £50, with the added bonus of the £20 membership fee not being shared with Man U. I can understand them getting excited by the hype, but they made they're move too soon, and n ow we all know that tickets are not that hard to come by. Never mind. Maybe in the next round eh? Sensible idea. Gets my vote. This letting season ticket holders buy more smacks of desperation to me. If there really high demand why on earth let S-T holders buy more? Whenever an organiser can't sell tickets he advertises saying , 'just a few left'. This looks rather like that to me. Try to build up demand by pretending there is already high demand. K.
