Incredible how our news media is obsessed with the country. For fucks sake recently they were reporting about an expected heat wave in the US   - not even something that had happened. I don’t give a fuck about their weather albeit slightly forgive the WC angle. But today the airtime given to Trump talking bs at 250 year celebrations. Stop obsessing about every utterance and his banging on about being the biggest and best - he’s boring and it’s not news

A man who was fatally shot by immigration agents at a traffic stop in Houston on Tuesday was not the intended target, US officials say.

Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a Mexican national, was stopped at 07:00 local time (12:00GMT) while driving to work and was killed shortly afterwards.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said on Thursday the stop was initiated because they saw "a white van with an individual who resembled the target" of an operation. They have claimed the officer shot in self-defence.

The agents involved in the shooting were not wearing body cameras and officials have not released any images or videos related to it."

A mate of mine in the good ol' USA has told me about some people over there who profess to be 'Sovereign Citizens' and reckon that State and National Laws do not apply to them unless they agree.
Have had a look at some occasions when these people are stopped for traffic violations and end up getting dragged out of their vehicles for refusing to comply with the requests of Traffic Police.
There are increasing numbers of people in the USA who are very weird!!
We have some strange citizens over here but fortunately some Americans are world leaders in weirdness..USA  USA  USA...

Loads of videos on YouTube like this, it’s mental but pre-dates Trump to post-Waco and the Oklahoma bombing. Having won the Cold War, bizarrely some Americans turned terrorism and appalling behaviour on their own country. Mr Bone Spurs encouraged them on 6 January but the herd behaviours from tens of millions brainwashed by SM, Bannon and Musk were there long before that day. 

Horrible situation for the cops on duty, attacked and in some cases killed by MAGA ‘patriots’. Glad the GOP finally grew a pair of bollocks over Trump’s plans to divert restorative funds to the Oath Keepers, KKK and all of the other far right loons that day. When you look back at the footage, it was like Nurnberg with all of the swastikas on display. If it happens again in January 2029 or even January 2027 after the mid-terms, they need to protect their legislature. If various nutters or group physically try to storm HoC, they know 100% they’ll be shot dead.

We have similar loons who consider themselves to be 'freemen on the land'.

There is a film called Sovereign which is about exactly this. While I obviously don't condone the extreme end of it, I get the sentiment. Much like in this country how the royal family 'rule' over us from the moment we're born, just because, whether you agree to it or not.

I must admit never feeling that the Royal family 'rule over us'.
Certainly the days when a Royal visit to the town would have meant crowds of people turning up have gone.
There may be token interest in a senior Royal putting in an appearance, especially the younger members, but the Royals are generally only of interest to the older generation and foreign visitors who actually seem interested in Monarchy

Sov Cits are opposed to the Government and claim to reject the imposition of Laws and taxes - the Royals don't govern us, impose Laws, or levy taxes. In fact, if you try you can pretty much get by without even thinking about them.

A playbook of fitting up the wrong guy for a crime. While one suspect has since died, hopefully the officers involved can enjoy some of the prison comforts this guy had for a few decades.

Whilst I agree, sadly too many cases in this country eg Stefan Kiszko, Andrew Malkinson and others, the coppers never face proper justice for their crimes. Duckenfield and Hillsborough.

Stefan Kiszko is the worst, as described by a Tory MP at the time. Dick Holland was corrupt on this, concealing evidence, and if this wasn’t bad enough, he messed up badly in the Yorkshire Ripper (albeit he wasn’t alone, see Oldfield, Gregory Hobson etc) enquiry leading to further murders after he told a junior detective at the time, Andy Laptew. who raised concerns after interviewing the Sutcliffes that he’d be put on traffic duty if he suggested further investigation into Peter after the interview and several spotting of his car in red light areas where police were active. If they’d have matched the sightings to the interview, the various photo fits, and trailed Sutcliffe, they’d have caught him earlier.
