Surman and Lallana

If we were to get a win today without them, what conclusions would you draw?

I'd conclude no more than if we won with them. We have plenty of good players, but no experience or consistency. I don't want to see Surman or Lallana leave because I believe the longer we play with the same squad, the better we will become. I also think they are two of our better players.

To be fair we did well without Surman and Lallana. Gobern gave us something in the middle Surman doesn't. A player who doesn't shy away from headers.

We didn't miss them, a bit more width today, Gillett and Gobern did well in the middle, McLaggon did well for our goal, very quick, but could have played a bit wider.

Much better shape all round, the equaliser came from a free kick into the six yd box, We defended too deep then but the next time held a high line and Davis was able to win it. We need to defend those sort of free kicks on the edge of the penalty area.

Paterson worked hard and looks a better bet than Robertson. BWP was much better than Smith.

I think Rudi will be off aswell to be honest. Just something about the way he clapped and waved to the fans today at the end suggested 'goodbye'

I missed that but with the rumours about the Everton left back coming on loan it would make sense. Why else bring a left back in on loan unless a deal had been agreed for Skacel to leave. Shame as I was warming to him.

Surman was crocked on Friday, it was a surprise he saw that game through. However I did say on Friday that that could be the last time we see him play for Saints. I hope not, more likely to end up at Reading than Fulham I would have thought.

I also wondered if todays opponents and his abscence was purely coincidental.

Also agree it hope he and AL stay.

Surman and Lallana to Fulham with Baird and £3million coming the other way according to an anonymous text on 606.

Someone also texted this rumour into Radio Solent...can't see how we could afford Baird back, as im sure Surman+Lallana's wages still get nowhere near to his.

We were rumoured to be getting Lee Molineux, a 19 year old from Everton, on loan until the end of the season.
Hope this is a false rumour. We're in a relegation battle and urgently need some experienced heads that will be able to handle the pressure. A 19yr old rookie is not the answer. Edited by Delmary

Same, especially after seeing how well Gobern and Mclaggon did in midfield today.

ffs..they will be crap for the rest/most of the season

gobern was forced into the first team after a great appearance v preston..he was then crap due to not being ready..im sure he will be fine in the future but we will do these players some damage at this rate..

Awful on his first start. He was composed and looked a good player today, he played well with Gillett and we were a lot more solid, especially when BWP came on.

Reading scored from a free kick into the six yd box, which was scrambled in, because we defended too deep. The next from a similar position on the other side, was defended from the edge of the penalty area and Davis claimed it.

The rumour around the ground today was Surman to West Brom for 1.2million and Lallana to the same place for 5million.

£1.2m for AS is plausible, although less than we might have hoped for.£5m for AL is ludicrous and won't happen in my view.

will have to take your word for it....much like gillet was ready etc...

what happens when he will have the inevitable loss of form from being so bloody inexperienced..? who comes in..?

I've just spoken to Andrew Surman and I asked him is he off, he replied he heard the rumor as well. I also asked why he didnt play today and he said he has an ankle injury he then pulled his sock down and he was wearing an ankle support. Very nice guy.
