Mystery Man (possibly Cowan)

Was stood by the players entrance after the game, whilst all the protests were going on, when this man, who looked like Andrew Cowan, came up to me and SimonRichards and said

"Lowe wasnt even here today and Wilde had left 15 mins before the end of the game. Thats the type of people you have here"

yes me too, was odd though because i thought he was Lowes "buddy"

It's hard to read the context into your post but is it possible he was chiding the fans for protesting and fighting when the objects of their attention weren't even present, rather than criticising RL and MW for not being there?

mmm dont think it was just that, why would he then say "thats the type of people you have here"

Well, that's cleared that up :D

Let's be honest, there are a lot of people who should be ashamed today, from the changing rooms to the boardroom, via the stands and more than a few living rooms.

It seems the only people with any heart are the fans but they've no idea where to channel the passion to because the team sure don't deserve it.

still convinced he meant Lowe and Wilde, rather than the protesting fans, how would they know neither one wasnt there?

I have been told Lowe was not at the game. Quite funny to see some round me in the Itchen singing "Lowe Out" and gesturing to him in the Directors box.

Fulthorpe was there though ;)

Sorry, but I didn't find anything about today funny!!!!

Wilde was there and I hope Richards and a few others who prop up Lowe were there, because they are as responsible as Lowe himself for the predicament we find ourselves in.

The shareholders need to withdraw their support for both Lowe and Poortvliet.

Maybe the wind is about to change?

If the two main protagonists cannot be there to see 'their' club perform (or rather not perform) for the 'customers' then, hopefully, they may have given up the ghost? Maybe they were at a pre-arranged tryst due for about the end of the game?

may be the chants should be

we want wilde out followed by

we want askham out and then

we want richards out and then

we want withers out

lets let them know they are equally to blame as rupert

At last a bit of sense....

Im a bit sick of the fact Lowe takes all the flak when all of the others mentioned are as much accountable as lowe himself....

Wilde is a complete and utter W * nker

& the sooner Askham drops dead the F * cking better

So was Dave from the local pub....the fact Fulthorpe was there means absolutely nothing. He has no financial backing and is just another tyre kicker giving everyone false hope.

If this mystery man had the biggest ears you have ever seen....then it was Cowen. HTH

It was a touch of sarcasm on my part, no more, no less.

Fulthorpe is a fantasist and a strange one at that.

Lowe is the figurehead. Besides, it's hardly likely that the others will be around if Lowe goes.

That sounds about right for Judas Wilde. I hope the cvnt never shows his face at the club again.

Interesting OP, if it was Andrew then things are changing very quickly.

If it wasn't him then he's probably been dropped in the sh8t by the "allegations" in this thread, which is a shame, as although he is tarred with the Lowe brush, on the couple of occassions I have come into contact with him he's actually a good guy

More repurcussions no doubt of a very bad day

Lowe and Cowan are joined at the hip, so it either wasnt him, or if it was he was criticising the fans.

Which is absolutely f**king ridiculous anyway, and is another example of the delusion the Lavender Hill Mob are proceeding under. Most of those fans come to see the football ("what football ?" I hear many of you cry), not watch the to-ings and fro-ings of the Director's box, so wouldnt know Lowe wasnt there or that Wilde scarpered.

But they know who is responsible alright...

Well FWIW a call from a mate who was in very close proximity to the Directors box, It appears that Wilde left 35 minutes before the end not 15 and received a lot of abuse even from those in the box. Andrew's reaction was one of horror and he was also upset that he was getting abuse from the fans.

Seems like the sentiments you heard were probably from the heart JM, possibly from the series of events - somehow from this it could suggest that the relationship there appears not all well - and my mate says Andrew was really upset by everything that went on.

Don't shoot the messenger, just reporting a skype call

Its difficult to see what anybody with the the same resources would change to make a difference.

yes and no.

think about 2 identical schools in two identical areas with the same budget. A good headmaster can acheive more through factors such as leadership, motivation, communication etc.

why do we say that some clubs punch above their weight.

yes - financial resources are very important but factors such leadership, motivation, communication and .... luck all make a difference.

Sure, I'm not saying you have to have more resources to improve - but it seems to me Saints have underperformed since we've been in the CCC - and I dont know why that it is. Lowe, Wilde, Dulieu and Crouch as Chairmen and three different managers havent made much difference. I dont see anybody of outstanding quality about to rescue us - so its a question of sticking with what we have or rolling the dice and hoping, just hoping the result is different. I dont have the answer, but cant see it myself.

Quite a lot actually

As a specific example, there are a lot of ex PL players who became managers and who have a wealth of experience at all levels and who don't have a job these days.

Those people would love ANY job back in football on a fixed term contract to "prove" themselves. They have experience and they are motivated and would work for around 50k for a year to get "back in the game"

As fans we may not WANT them, but for a squad made up of youngsters they could well have been exactly what we needed to help guide them and possibly young coaches this season.

I had a very pleasant dinner with an ex manager who went into this in some detail and followed the same when I talked to another ex manager just before Christmas.

What the kids needed at the start of the season was experience. It COULD have been done on the cheap, it wasn't, sounds like we are seeing the fruits of that poor decision now.

Apparently Lowe is on holiday according to radio solent today.

Must be nice to be able to afford a holiday in January :smt087

More to the point, If I were the CEO of a Championship football club....I wouldn't even contemplate going on holiday at this time of year, particularly considering the position tha club is in atm.

Anyway, I would have thought that he would be itching to show the 'Donny' chairman the pride of place given to the picture of the 'steam train'.

I havent seen much fight or passion from the players for the best part of four years, except in the odd game. Just throwing all the cards up in the air again and hoping things will be different is pointless IMO. Whatever money we woul save by not sacking JP should be spent on bringing in a proven goalscorer IMO - bringing Stern John back if his mind is right.

That was my thinking but I'm coming round to the fact that I don't think Rooney or Ronaldo would get more than 15 goals this season. The rest of it sounds so broken.

If as some say Lowe is on holiday then it will take at least a week for the dust to settle and anything to happen. Think it's gonna be log off time or find the Samaritans until then
