But that cost will only be passed onto the consumer.

The issue where we are is actually not that we don't have enough water (and this is common for a lot of the UK), it's that it can't be treated quick enough to satisfy demand.

Additional reservoirs would help, but more treatment plants are really what is needed, and is a cheaper and quicker fix than desalination.

Too many people. And getting worse.

But you have to have a structure to allow for people growth - declining populations are bad for economic growth.

The issue is also the geography and demographics of those people, making the country more balanced would allow that to happen. It's easy to have infrastructure if it is well planned and not kicked down the road as Governments tend to do.

I challenge your first statement.

Increasing populations are bad for social and economic health. The relentless pursuit of Mammon to the exclusion of quality of life is a big mistake.

I didn’t get one but I’m out of the country obviously they don’t give a shit about those who aren’t here but they’ll want my taxes soon as we land back home

Anyway shouldn’t this be on the weather thread not the climate change one? We were told short period of hot, wet or cold were weather not climate change

I wonder how many people had their phones on silent for all sorts of important reasons only to have their evening ruined by alarms telling them that it’s hot and not to make any fires.

The alert scared me so much I knocked over my disposable barbecue into a box of fireworks, and it burned down my shed. Is that what they wanted?

We're they 'Standard' fireworks...?

They go to all phones on the national network. We were in Athens at Easter and got one on our phones about severe thunderstorms headed our way.

It rained. A bit.
