After the last day's news, I'm sure we're all a bit washed out and lacking in enthusiasm. So if you wish to nominate the B-Team left side striker, then do so. If you don't, I quite understand.

This thread will end Sunday evening.

EDIT: For those who missed it, here's the A-Team line up:

-------------------Shilton---------------------

Golac-------Wright--------Svensson-----Bridge

Paine---------Ball---------Le Tissier---Armstrong

------------Channon--------Davies-------------

Rod Wallace

I dont want this to seem like spam, so I would like to give some reasons why.

1 - Made a lot of space for Matty

2 - Great pace

3 - Could finish

4 - Abilty to play well either on the right or up front

5 - Brave, was never afraid to go up against much bigger opponents

6 - Part of the most insane formation in history

Thanks mate, in that case instead of going for the consummate modern 'small' forward Moran, I will plump for Martin Chivers to have a class big fellow to partner Keggy...

Then I will go for Steve Moran, as he was KK's strike partner. And a brilliant partnership they were.

Remember..?

1981-82 PFA Player of the Year - Kevin Keegan

1981-82 PFA Young Player of the Year - Steve Moran

How's that for a bit of spamming..? Says it all really. ;)

Going to go for another great I never got to see, Steve Moran.

Since supporting them, It has got to be a toss up between Beatts, Pahars and Ostenstadt but judging from video footage, books and legend, Moran has to be in there.

Steve Moran. Far better than anything more recent with possible exception of Pahars at his best. I feel an honourable mention should be made to Phil Boyer though too as he worked his socks off every game (a free goal scoring Brett although I would never deride the effort Ormerod put in to help BT).

I can't really go for Chivers because I only saw him play live once and that was for Spurs. Moran and Pahars have been mentioned but I'm going to go for Frankie Worthington. Only played for us for a short while and was past his best but his touch and vision was as good, if not better, than any player I've seen pull on the famous red and white.

who is the right forward?

Oh, btw, just a reminder of the B-Team so far:

----------------------Niemi----------------------

Dodd------Lundekvam------Watson---------Dennis

D.Wallace----Williams---------Case--------Marsden

--------------Keegan-----------?-----------------

I just wonder whether this team hasn't got just a bit more grit than the A-Team to overcome them. Still, after this vote we have subs and managers to go, so there's still room for variation.

If Jim Steele Sydenham and David Webb were playing I would agree

Osgood or Chivers with Keegan I would have thought

Good call, has to be one of our most gifted strikers of all time and a natural in the left striker role. Never got the full credit he deserved and probably won't get in with all the short memoried fans here.

Bradley for me too.

He may well have been, but he never proved it.

Chivers was a very good footballer good in the air and had very good ball control

I saw him score a great goal in 1964 v Man Utd in the cup down the Dell at the Archers Road end beat a couple of players then hit a left footed screamer in the top left hand corner.

Ossie was past his best when he came to us but in the 1960s he was a player people went to watch and paid money to see him.

Likewise as you say with Worthington

As Chivers is a Southampton Boy as well I will go for him
